The beauty of this Wal-Mart....the time when kids were hearing about the new Goldeneye....the new PS1 Crash Bandicoot
As well as the allure of DVD players just starting to become affordable enough to bring distortion-free video to homes everywhere. Ppl today really take digital video playback for granted
@@TurboPikachuI had a VHS/DVD player combo growing up that I really miss.
Good times.
Used to get wwf action figures there
@@freen1364 I used to be able to go there and get figures of all kind that were awesome.
There hasn’t been much worth buying anywhere for years though unfortunately.
It’s sad that kid me who had no money lived in the time with a ton of stuff to buy and now adult me who has any money lives in a world with nothing worth paying for.
I love how this store looks, it looks WAY more lively than Walmart today.
This Walmart needs to become a landmark for Wal-Mart
Hopefully corporate can respect the location as a “legacy” store that can remain as such indefinitely, kind of like Chuck E. Cheese is allowing one California location to keep the full animatronic band indefinitely as the only true legacy CEC store
Maybe we could bring back those '90s prices too, eh? 😂
retail is so depressing these days. when everything can be ordered online there's just not much in the way of interacting with your own town. and very little fills that void. all we're left with is empty parking lots.
Thank you so much for this video. I am hoping against all hope that this location will remain the same like the last Blockbuster. Some people may frown on nostalgia and wishing for the past but it warms my heart in this contemporary chaos. Great job!!!!
The walmart in Sauk Centre, Minnesota is probably the closest you can get to a 90s walmart in the United States. The checkouts look similar to the ones in this walmart, they have the fish section, the arcade, and the old style game cabinets. We had to make an emergency stop there because of my dads tire and the employees at the auto center still wore the old uniforms from the 90s and 2000s. On google maps, it shows that Walmart was only somewhat recently remodeled, as it was the 2000s style until at least 2014. Definitely was a lot cooler than what i expected from a random small town Walmart!
Here in New York, the closest thing to 90s was store #1610 in Greece (Rochester). They still had the original checkout configuration (no bag wheels, and no self-checkouts either!) with red box lights until only a few years ago (same goes for its electronics department, conveniently located in the center of the store and still is). Red stripes are present on the floor except apparel and the front of the store. I would be really interested in knowing what that store you mentioned looks like now considering their more aggressive remodeling scheme to that Airport-style decor.
I went to a 90s style Walmart when I was 5 (I’m 14) and I remember crying my eyes out on the Spiderman ride for no reason. Think it might’ve been the one in Rockford, Illinois
Farmingdale was retro until 2017 when it became a supercenter which sucked and 2014 they all disappeared in long island where i live
wow 🥹 this is my walmart as a kap resident and im 15 and i didn’t appreciate it until right this second! i hated our walmart but seeing how many people sharing their stories and such warmed my heart
I know it's only been a few months, but can you confirm if it still looks like this? I'm thinking about planning a trip to see it.
@@SK438 yes it does!!!!!!!!!! they sadly added self checkouts, but other than that, nothings changed!
You should update us for changes... you are very select to be living with this WAL-MART in particular.
One thing you forgot to mention is the layout of those floors. As you see there is red lines on the floor. Most Wal-Marts today have done away with those as it really did not serve a propose. Also the clothing/jewellery departments still has the grey carpeted floors which have all been replaced with the laminate floors. Most Wal-Marts did away with that floor layout around 2005-2012. This is a very rare find and so nostalgic to me!
Nice to see that it has a price checking station as well as an operating McDonald's.
I understand what you mean. This walmart type was built between the 80's style walmart and the newer Supercenters. ...Many walmarts like this were reconstructed into a supercenter; like the one in the next city from me here in south Louisiana. It still has ther retro feel when I go there, only it's now larger.😸😸😸 Thank you for the cool tour!
Gosh, one of our local Wal-Marts -- their McDonald's had a Playplace that featured, of all things, a Nintendo 64 as well as some other toys in that area.
Needless to say, I made sure to find a way to spend some time on that thing (if nobody else was hogging it, anyways)
My mcdonalds had an arcade with n64 happy times it was for me in the 2000s i was born 1999 and remember those days clearly
I really enjoyed seeing a Part 2 of a 90s Walmart because ours wasn't built until the early 2000s so it has a different look : )
Those pictures above the clothes live rent free in my head!
True 90's walmart had a radiogrill. I still remember electronics only having one way in and out to reducing shoplifting.
MY STORE WAS BUILT IN 1999 IT HAD A RADIO GRILL, GOOD FOOD MISS IT. KERNERSVILLE NC.
I miss the old ones so much, they were the best, they have to come back like that!! The good old design wal-mart the best
Here in the US, most of our Walmarts did that major remodel in 2008-2009. I miss that old 90s look. Feels so nostalgic.
90s? Golden Eras!
Great video! I watched part 1 a few times! Keep up the great work! I love these videos!
Probably a stubborn franchisee. God bless ‘em lol
That dollar tree is no more lol
And yes this walmart has not changed still
My town’s Super Walmart retained some of the old black on white price signage from the now closed 90s one. It rarely shows up in the strangest places (namely the cheap DVDs)…
Everything else is new, though. The Supercenter was built and opened in 2016.
My childhood of the early 90s onward: Zellers/Kmart, then Walmart came along with this style interior. I also dont like the cold looking brushed concrete floors.
Thanks you so much for the video🙏🏽
It brings back good memories I love it ahhh take me back! 😢😢
underrated content amazing documentary props to you finding this walmart and showing us👍
What I would give to be able to travel back in time to the 90s.
1 hour photo ha
the way my parents do the shopping you could bring photos and pick them up and they would STILL be busy shopping at snail pace.
walmart
walmart
This is when Walmart was Walmart
In the Early 2010s my mom would always take me to the subway in walmart
in 5 years remember me Mr old Walmart man I'll see you when u hit 1 million
I doubt it but i'd be greatful, thank you aurex!
This is amazing
i remember when they had mcdonalds still lol
I also hate the new floor, the new ordinary installation is lifeless and it’s very sad
Wow this brings back a lot of my childhood memories being this someone who was born in the late 1990s but grew up in 2000s 🪙📹 nostalgia childhood unlocked
I remember working at one of these walmarts.
Early to a Walmart vidya
Glad I subbed 😎
I still see the old Walmart logo on some Walmart truck trailers, but other than that nothing.
How often do you see 90’s Walmart decor in a Walmart?
I remember going to my hometown target, you could get a huge salted pretzel with cheese for just 1.50, unfortunately they upgraded the target in town in 2018 and took out the entire deli, you can only buy popcorn as a hot food there now
I'm surprised that a classic Wal-Mart like this has electronics in the back as opposed to the classic middle placement. Did Canadian Wal-Marts ever have a middle electronics placement?
New Walmart floors are too shiny if you ask me
Would kill to go there. My city(s) has 3 super centers and 1 normal. I remember when I was 5 them changing from the star to the modern design. Now they’ve been remodeled again basically all new self check outs and security definitely a lot different from even 2020.
Is that store in the opening couple of seconds the Kingsway store in Edmonton? I live near that one and I'm legit convinced that's the one you're showing lol. It sucks
Any footage of the old snack bar before the McDonald's add on?
Always keep the 90s walmart
There's one in Chico Ca
Yeaa I don't like the new flooring in our Walmart to
😱
The modern Walmart we should’ve got
Music used?
What is the location of this Walmart then
Does anyone in the area know if this Walmart is still like this as of June 2024? I’d really like to take the trip to see it if so.
GOOGLE IT!
You could be the North america version of Tom scott
Where's this located
weres this at

I thought they were entering a lowes
The New Walmarts feel like you're walking in a giant Apple Store. which is just sterile white, silver and grey. I blame Apple for every store and Restaurant looking the way they do today. Bland Sterile and simple logos
Buy something i need to see the checkout lanes, i bet my wife 100 dollars how they used to bag the groceries.
Is your girlfriend a man? Not that it’s any of my business.
Cool video, 90’s era stuff is a comfort spot for me 😊
No, it's not the last Walmart with the odd logo
Oh yeah I dislike the newer walmart design the one before this one theyre doing now was solid but this new one no thanks
My Walmart Is Better Too
NO! This walmart is a LAST AND ONLY 1990’s TRUE WALMART
The McDonalds closed in 2011 i remember it had the giant arches at the entrance of it and the photo studio right next to it too it closed in 2015-16 i remember going all the time to this walmart when i was younger 🫠
