- Thank you to my amazing volunteer who helped coordinate this trip, we were able to rescue 3 hamsters and 2 gerbils from bad situations. So bad that the title should explain how I feel. Neglect, bad choices, why do people have animals that they clearly shouldn't have? Enjoy their introductions as one has a future vet trip planned.

To me it seems like the person with the two hamsters together was probably told that they shouldn't house 2 hamsters together and that's why they waited and went to another store to get the second one. Or they mistook the hamster for being lonely when it was just miserable from not being cared for correctly.

It might be a bit on the nose but what about Achilles? After all that he's gone through I think naming him after a hero of greek mythology who's body was invulnerable except for one of his heels is quite fitting. He's a trooper.

pancake would be a great name for him also, almost made me cry to see the neglect on the hamster and his poor leg. hoping it goes well for him at the vet.
Seeing this neglected animals been put in a big and clean enclosure always brings a smile to my face. I´m so happy for them. Great job!
The winter white looks like a Cream Puff to me! Mainly from his lovely colouration, and the fact that he's so big and squishy haha. I'm so glad he was able to get out of that horrible situation (same with all the other animals), you truly are doing such amazing work! :]
Name suggestion: Hiccup, after the character in How to Train Your Dragon!

For the obese winter white, I think Pancake would be a cute and great name for him.
Also, when I was in high school I had permission to get a hamster. I didn't know any better at that time, but the pet store owner said I had to adopt both of them. Both were brothers and I said I only wanted one, but I took both because they refused to adopt out one and not the other

Hey Munchie! Your videos inspired me to rescue a hamster of my own! I am now the proud pet parent of a white syrian hamster named Spookie! :)
I would name the hammie Sunny, since his life is about to get brighter because you rescued him. Also his cute blonde fur fits the name!
Hiccup (HTTYD), Chief (Fox and Hound, also broke leg) or Achilles would be great names for him, I think :)

That’s the biggest winter white I’ve ever seen I love him! I got my winter white almost 5 months ago and we love her so much she’s so spoiled . Breaks my heart that people don’t take care of their pets
Please name that poor thing Zira! Short for Aziraphale, an adorable, sweet angel who is also chunky and is very strong ( Could refer to his injury for that ) . It suits him perfectly! Even his coloring matches up. Hopefully it helps him get a good home too, the Good Omens fandom is incredibly sweet and wholesome, I'm sure someone from it would take the best care possible for him.

Because they can and want to, sadly so many people are selfish and ignorant.
Because they go "how cute" and think they require no maintenance only to realize you still gotta care for this small thing.

Sorry if this is a daft request, but in a future video, do you think you could do a step-by-step guide on how to properly scruff a hamster? I've never done it as I'm scared that I might hurt my hamster on accident.
Will do, eventually. Once i get a good camera where I don't struggle with the focus. XD

It’s so sad the sweetest hamsters end up with the crappiest owners! Me on the other hand is a great owner and give my hamsters everything they need and want and I always have the shyest or most timid hamsters takes a long time for them to get used to me! But that’s OK as long as they are happy and healthy
Poor hamster with the hurt leg,I am so glad you rescued him.I am a Rodent lover,I have owned Hamsters,Guinea Pigs,and alot of Mice.Thank You for educating people on Rodent Care. Many Pet Stores no nothing about proper Rodent Care.I have had many mice as pets and have learned alot about their Health and Care over the years.God Bless you and your friends for saving all the Rodents you do!!

I'm definitely late to the naming party, but Heracles is a great name for such a large, heroic lil dude.
I love using biscuit tins as sand baths, handy if you're stuck.
For big winter boy, how about: Sindile (It means survivor)
Or maybe Ajax (means strong warrior)

Oh my gosh.... that poor little winter white hamster! I hope everything went/goes well! On the bright side, I think his name should be 'Pancake" because of coloration and like you said, hes flat like a lil pancake! Or maybe Toast? He kind look's like a piece of Toast :o

The moment somebody crosses the line where they know what they're doing is not good for the animal but they either want money or the convenience, I feel like that itself is something to be mourned because they've lost their innocence and they've lost their heart.
I'm not finished watching the video as I'm writing this but oh my god, that poor winter white boy. His leg!!! I cannot believe the previous owner just let him stay untreated like that. You dont even have to be a hamster expert to see that he is VERY OBVIOUSLY injured. Actually unbelievable

The sapphire reminds me of Ragnar from the series Vikings.. Ragnar often got wounded but still was a formidable opponent regardless of the ills.
So very sad to see such neglect, ignorance and down right abuse. I feel extra sad for the one with the broken leg. He has been mistreated and is still as sweet as can be. Breaks my heart. I think his name should be Sweet Pea 💕 Thank you for all you and your volunteers do for these wonderful little animals 🙏

Well not surprised she did, I was letting out couple myself, this neglect was so frustrating to watch. Why do people always get hamsters and then abandon them after 2-3 months like trash.
@@teijaflink2226 I know it, Only certain children and even adults should own an animal period.
I felt like I should at least let one in the video, so this was intentional. Cause my feeling when I saw it, mattered. The other two was just out of rage and annoyance. This F bomb was just devastating and you can hear it in my voice.
As an update to this story: The little one has an appointment next week and his leg will be coming off. Surgery had to be scheduled out unfortunately but he is being given pain meds and was seen by our vets. So wish him well.
Those poor hamsters. D: I wish I could adopt the second one (I live in the uk, so too far. 😢)

What about Gelato or Vanilla for a name? Because he is sweet and white like vanilla ice cream!
I hope the hurt guy improves. I have a winter white hybrid named Gwen who was obese when I got her, and since then she has just grown and grown. I know its not my food for two reasons, she's on the same food as the rest of my adult hamsters and no one else is even close to obese, and the first thing my vet did was put her on a diet with a higher fresh veggie content + some meds to try and help her lose some weight. It didn't work, and she's already been tested for diabetes. At this point both me and my vet kinda think it's a thyroid issue, but she is wary to put her on meds for it as it could kill her if we are wrong. Hopefully this guy has a much better time losing that weight than my girl though!
The chubby one reminds me an old cartoon „Life with Louie” therefore I’d name him Louie. Gebril bros may be Thor and Loki. Robo should be name Florida because he spins my head right round right round. ;)

until you can get him to a vet you could give him a little homemade turmeric paste on his food to help with any pain (look up how to make it and weigh him to figure out the proper amount, i know for dogs the amount is one tsp for 25lbs so it should be a tiny amount, it's a relative of ginger so they should like the taste.)

I was curious about hamsters on Craigslist and people are actually selling there hamsters for 50-80$$. They think all the crap they bought for the hamster which is those cages you showed, there going to recoup there money from. I was shocked most of it were just plastic parts and chewed up tunnels and crap. It did make sense you mentioned maybe the "pan" is having people try to sell them for more than there worth

Ive been doing my research but i would love to see a cool gerbil channel too and theres not as much videos as hamsters :) thank you! X
