I agree that Megicula was the former Heart Queen, but I believe there is more to that. Megicula body was inspired by the statue of Astarte and the heart means love. Both examples are connected to the Goddess of Love known as Aphrodite and the devil named Astaroth. Megicula could have been Astaroth's other half when Lucius uses his soul magic on the Time Devil which splits her souls into two separate beings. There is another character who is connected to Astarte the Queen of Heaven other than Megicula which is Noelle since she did meet the Sea god in a similar way as the Goddess did. Also, there is the Heavenly Maiden/Princess who was teased from the Hino Country, she is known as Benzaiten: Goddess of Love, Sea, Knowledge, and Time that sealed the evil dragon. I know this sounds crazy but there is a chance that Noelle and Megicula used to be Astaroth a long time ago meaning Lucius who bound the Time Devil to himself 20 years ago may not be true. Remember Time Magic could freeze, fast forward, and seal other living beings😉

I also want to add that when Lucifero tried to possess Liebe, he showed a very different personality smiling and even laughing and there was no 3rd eye either. I think we haven't actually met Lucifero as himself yet and he will definitely play a part later on.
Yeah, lucifero was alot more "zagred like" and we can see that Hes still like that when he used morris as a vessel and when he was a worm monster, Its only AFTER his 50% appeared that we see the very anrgy lucifero

It feels like there is so much more to explore with the devils, but also having Lucius be revealed as the mastermind and also the pawn in the same arc wouldn't work imo. And because Lucius is kinda depicted as an Aizen-like figure, adding onto that the statement that he could become god if his plan succeeded, him being the one manipulated would be an even worse Black Zetsu twist. It could also be really really cool if Tabata came up with something completely different and blew my mind with a really cool twist still making Megicula the main villain, for example that Lucius actually was just Megicula the entire time, that he wasn't even manipulated ever at all, though it wouldn't make sense for Megicula to hide her identity, but something along those lines, that wouldn't make it feel like an asspull and just making a loser Aizen character for no reason at all, if Lucius had no point, then it would have been better if Julius's other identity would just have been Megicula from the very beginning. Looking forward to how things will go, hopefully if this theory comes true it won't be dissapointing.
It depends on how it’s done. Elf Saga is held up as one of the best sagas in manga. Patry was the mastermind hero that was returning the elves to glory. Then zagred came. It worked. It can work. Especially if Megicula reveals herself, calls Lucius a pawn, but Lucius actually defeats her and gains rapport among humanity as a hero.
I appreciate your comment but I don't think it would be as bad as the Black Zetsu arc, mainly because the whole black zetsu part was a pure retcon, compared to the Megikula situation where you can see her influence interwritted and twisted into the whole story, as opposed to black zetsu who just wasn't foreshadowed at all compared to Obito and Madara in my opinion, as for Julius and Megikula, they kinda felt foreshadowed there from throughout the series, to me Julius always seemed too good to be true as the leader of the Clover Kingdom, and he had something shady all around him, and, suprise surprise, look what was actually with him in the end xDDD.
Do you how insane it would be if tabata was actually setting out bread crumbs for who the main villain really is this entire time? So many characters magic or circumstance from magic in black clover can be linked back to Megiculas existence. I would take back EVERYTHING terrible I thought about Tabatas writing in a heartbeat.

Im only halfway through the video (banger btw), just wanna add another reason why megicula is 99% still alive. It seems like the absolute strongest devils have multiple hearts, as seen with lucifero and maybe beelzebub. Lucifero straight up had one heart consumed from his 50% body in spade, and was still alive in the underworld since lucius bodied him a bit after to get the other heart. The same might have happened with beelzebub due to the devil heart that yuno slashed in zenon. At the very least it happened with lucifero and since megicula was considered strong enough to fill in for astaroth as one of the top 3 devils she likely still had one or more hearts left in the underworld after she was defeated in spade.
My only problem is, if we are in the final arc there might not be enough time for tabata to properly handle this. How do you reveal all of this organically just after we had the big bad reveal(lucious)? If he does this well though it could be reeeaaally good
The idea of Lucius as the final villain is great but the execution is still kinda lacking. As of now we don't know how the clover folks are doing. What stakes are still there for characters who's character arc's are already done and dusted like Noelle, Finral,Yami, Nozel,Langris and Yuno? As of now the conflict only seems to revolve around Asta and Lucius. The black bulls aren't even gearing up towards an common enemy this time, they are going out of their way to find Asta. Which is in itself a interesting idea. But like I said what is the overall conflict?
@@Grayson-Winchester With the current chapters I think Tabata is building up Lucius as a threat for the main conflict but I also think there’s gonna be other threats along side him. Most likely some of the paladins are gonna be big threats but not just them maybe even some devils could return like Lucifugus, Beelzebud, Astaroth or in this case Megicula. The only thing is that we’ve already had enough of the whole “villain pulling the strings” in BC, so I would prefer that Megicula comes back as a main antagonist along side Lucius instead of having someone else pulling the strings yet again
I remember reading a comment on a video of black clover’s newest chapters, and the person basically wrote that the final arc of black clover will probably have a big plot twist and cited a fairytale(sadly I don’t remember what it was). Hope to God we get acier back as a paladin with megicula, it would be dark as hell and a great parralel to how megicula was controlling aciers soul and give us some great scenes with her and noelle/nozel and may or may not be what tabata uses to reveal her as the one behind it all and I'd be fine with her or lucius being the endgame villain and I think tabata could write it well either way.
I like the idea of Megicular being the final boss, but I don't c that all of this happening, mainly because of Tabata wanting to end the series. That I feel like it'd b a bit complicated considering that BC has had a somewhat simple not very complicated story. And all curses being removed after her death, yeah nah yeah, Libre being mortal again and whatnot I can't c that happening, curses on humans I can.
Asta is now using mana zone, so what if anti magic is genuinely magic but Asta hasn't been using it effectively because it was actually supposed to be Megecula's magic and Liebe can't control it properly because it wasn't supposed to be him controlling it?
I recently read and watched the whole series and one narrative detail that i noticed that really supports this theory is how much they hype up megicula in the arc leading to the spade arc , including the fillers . I mean the whole build up to the arc was the black bulls investigating places where megicula has interfered , noelle finding the truth about her mother , asta and the others going to gordon's house when his family has contracted megicula , yami talking with charlotte about her curse etc .. They even did the " you are not allowed to say her name " as if she is godamn voldermort and i think tabata has taken inspiration from harry potter where voldermort is the big final villain . Also the whole devil saga begun because Asta was supposed to clear his name by finding out more about megicula and defeating her . With the amount of influence and hype she has had in the story i think that its clear that tabata either had a huge role for her and decided to switch it up last minute , which is a horrible choice or her role is simply not done her and tabata is trying to create a plot twist again while also having all these forshadowing elements . i have faith that its the latter because it will really be very anticlimactic otherwise .
I do personally love this video, I think it’s amazing and brings up a lot of good points like the section concerning Asta, his mother and Liebe with there being some time inconsistencies concerning the five leaf. With that said however, personally, I would absolutely despise it if Asta lost his power. I understand it’s a personal thing but I hate when main characters die at the end or lose all of their power. I believe it works well for Bleach because Ichigo does recover his power so if Asta does lose his power (which I wouldn’t want) I hope he gets something big in return.
As cool as this theory is, I vastly prefer Lucius as the true antagonist, since we were so used to the kind and compassionate Julius, adapting to Lucius was shocking and highly influential, he’s just so cool.

He would rather have her pop up mid arc as a paladin, she talking about plans of her own to break free and take his place or achieve his goal before him, like she wanted to manifest before Lucifero and then be defeated before Lucius downfall
I think this theory was fun to hear, but I wouldn't say it's completely true. Maybe it is, but the most I can imagine is the witch queen appearing with megicula and having great backstory along with it, but Liebe being Tetia's son and all that is a little unbelievable to me. But great theory connecting all that.

8:19 I think it was more because Lolo didn't have the aptitude for attack magic. Undine says so herself (that Lolo hasn't learned a single attack spell, of course we see her use water knights but we never seen them attack, just surround. Thats the case with lolo fighting Vanica. They used mana zone to creat a giant water funnel which powered up noel but did no damage directly but halved Vanicas power) or against Asta when she created water knights that never actually hit asta and she ended up flooding the room so he couldnt breathe. She couldn't learn offensive spells but previous queens could. That's what I think undine meant there.
We definitely need explanation on what happened between asta being dropped off with the skull not there to asta being raised with yuno in the time we know. I forgot about that ngl

I will say this: of all the villains in Black Clover, Megicula is the one that i actually truly despise. She's written on another level. So it would feel right for her to be the big bad. And not in a black Zetsu kind of way, but one that is actually built up through the entire series.

Have you considered the possibility that Adramelech is in league with Megicula? Adra reports to Lucius that the Lucifero battle went exactly as he foresaw, BUT Lucius can’t see the future of Asta, who was the one to defeat Lucifero, so it’s impossible for that statement to be true. He also has aligned himself with the person who is trying to genocide devils. All of that leads me to think that Adramelech knows something Lucius doesn’t, I.e. Megicula’s plans
It would be incredible if Yuno becomes a Devil host, his and Asta’s fight would be a roller coaster of emotions and it would hit hard with the audience
also on lucius taking control of the devils, I dont think he ate their hearts or has even taken their magic power either(which is a huge assumption I don't know why you or other bc scalers think he did this), which might be what he plans on doing on judgement day.
@@antares8943 because it's stated he took control of the all the devil's in the underworld not that he ate their hearts, we don't really know the full details on what he's doing either but with his soul magic and Luciferos heart I think it's reasonable to assume he's forcing those devil's to incarnate from the underworld.
Nice theory, but one small hiccup. On 32:40, you said there was no bones or skull that belongs to Licht. However, on chapter 328, page 4, when Licita says, "Tomorrow, and the day after... always, always, always...", you can clearly see Licht's skull in the background. Can you explain that please? What if the witch queen is the ancestors/grandma of the Zogratis because of her and Vanica Blood magic ties. Maybe Lucius would be incline to ask her to join his army or something.
Megicula was influential in Noelle's character arc. Because she was the root of her family's loss and mistreatment. Now she has come full circle by destroying this evil. But I think the only devil with importance left is Astaroth and Lucifero's powers used by Lucius.

Megicula although a cool character just seems so minor in the grand scheme of things that her bieng the final boss doesn't feel right like I feel the final boss's should be some big famous figure loved by all, mana and the like not a devil feared and hated by all, and I love aizen so to see a different sorta interpretation of the character I would never want to see be thrown out
Now I think this is how it is going to go down , when asta defeats megicula he makes her see the error of her ways. As not all devils are bad (liebe) especially the ones who were originally human. So since she is not dead, Asta gets to keep his anti- magic power and defeat yuno to become the wizard king 👑
The which queen theory might be the so true, why, yami came to save Charlotte, and she probably told him she was cursed and by who, and later we see yami appear in the forest of witches to probably confront the queen, and he ends up saving vanessa, yami was hard on all the elf's besides Charlotte he was much kinder towards her when she was an elf
I want this to be true so bad. Becoz the moment she appeared there was just so much potential for her as a villain and her death seemed a bit luck luster to me.
I would like to see Yuno admiting that Asta is true wizard king just like Yosuga admitted that to Ryu. That even without magic, being a lot weaker Asta was the one to save the kingdom. That would be satisfing ending.

While I do agree that Megicula could have a deeper role in the story and it feel natural, I highly doubt the idea that she is a former heart queen. She and Undine show no recognition to each other. You'd think if they were paired, spirit and partner, something they've shown to be a very deep connection in most cases, you would expect at least one of them give even a hint at knowing the other.
It makes no sense, but it makes perfect sense. Lol I'm sold, where do I sign? Fr tho it makes more sense even after reading after the time skip, I thought it would be a cat and mouse thing where he masquerades as Julius while undermining everything and only us the reader would know, but he just walks into the open first chapter like "hey I'm the bad guy I'm here to kill you let's go" I knew then and there that he wasn't the end all villain. Tho like you, I did want him to be. He was set up so perfectly. Really a wasted opportunity fr.
Also magicula would just be compared to aizen if she was pulling the strings the whole time. And it would be an asspull to give her new abilities but in the end it would be useless because at the current point in the mange almost every black bull has a hard counter for magicula. Magna with 6 month prep could beat her like he did Dante. Zora might be able to reverse the effects of curse magic which his trap magic. Henry absorbs mana, Gordon can invert curses, asta has a big black sword that doesn't give a fuck about plot armor, charmy is basically an infinite mana and power glitch, yami is literally a walking F you and might just kill her with second hand smoke, Grey can convert her curses, Gauche can reflect them or copy allies and their abilities including astas antimagic, Finral would be making everyone super fast, luck is basically a demon himself, nacht could transport her to a separate dimension like lilith and naahmah, Noelle can guard people and attack simultaneously, Nero can seal her or seal curses that hit people, etc. She would end up like Morrison

One thing i contest is that Curse Magic is BASED on Megiculas Curse Warding, not that she is the Source of every curse. Regular Curses are regular humans making a weaker easier version to use

I stated in the video that Megicula was around for over 500 years. Devils do change rank. We saw this with Astaroth and Megicula. Also, if Devils can be created then they could take spots. Megicula lied. She said devils can’t change ranks even though she is one who actually did that.

Here is dumb theory. It was never stated that licita had her mana absorbing curse form the begging. So what if megeicula cursed licta when she was pregnant with asta and the job of the curse was to abosrb a humans mana and lifeforce and funnel it into the underworld thus giving birth to liebe. Megucila could be trying to make the ultimate weapon against lucifero so she teried to see what would happen if a mana of a human were ti exist for a ling time in the underworld thus resulting in anyti magic the natural counter all mana. This could also explain liebe's human like appearance akin to a high ranking devil eventhough he a low ranker as megicula would have to keep him a secret as too not alert lucifero. This also mean anti magic is asta's magic corrupted in the underworld and why the five leaf clover grimoire chose him because it technically contained his magic. This would also parrell yuno in way as yuno was born with two souls and asta basically got split into two souls. Feel free to roast the shit out of me for this crazy ass theory Thank you for reading

Im only halfway through the video (banger btw), just wanna add another reason why megicula is 99% still alive. It seems like the absolute strongest devils have multiple hearts, as seen with lucifero and maybe beelzebub. Lucifero straight up had one heart consumed from his 50% body in spade, and was still alive in the underworld since lucius bodied him a bit after to get the other heart. The same might have happened with beelzebub due to the devil heart that yuno slashed in zenon. At the very least it happened with lucifero and since megicula was considered strong enough to fill in for astaroth as one of the top 3 devils she likely still had one or more hearts left in the underworld after she was defeated in spade.

I don't have a problem with Megicula actually happening to be the true final antagonist because it honestly works hella well for her to be.
The idea of Lucius as the final villain is great but the execution is still kinda lacking. As of now we don't know how the clover folks are doing. What stakes are still there for characters who's character arc's are already done and dusted like Noelle, Finral,Yami, Nozel,Langris and Yuno? As of now the conflict only seems to revolve around Asta and Lucius. The black bulls aren't even gearing up towards an common enemy this time, they are going out of their way to find Asta. Which is in itself a interesting idea. But like I said what is the overall conflict?
@@Grayson-Winchester With the current chapters I think Tabata is building up Lucius as a threat for the main conflict but I also think there’s gonna be other threats along side him.
Most likely some of the paladins are gonna be big threats but not just them maybe even some devils could return like Lucifugus, Beelzebud, Astaroth or in this case Megicula.
The only thing is that we’ve already had enough of the whole “villain pulling the strings” in BC, so I would prefer that Megicula comes back as a main antagonist along side Lucius instead of having someone else pulling the strings yet again
I remember reading a comment on a video of black clover’s newest chapters, and the person basically wrote that the final arc of black clover will probably have a big plot twist and cited a fairytale(sadly I don’t remember what it was). However, the person did say it would probably be that Lucius is asta’s father, or that there’s another queen who is Asta’s sister….

Hope to God we get acier back as a paladin with megicula, it would be dark as hell and a great parralel to how megicula was controlling aciers soul and give us some great scenes with her and noelle/nozel and may or may not be what tabata uses to reveal her as the one behind it all and I'd be fine with her or lucius being the endgame villain and I think tabata could write it well either way.

I recently read and watched the whole series and one narrative detail that i noticed that really supports this theory is how much they hype up megicula in the arc leading to the spade arc , including the fillers . I mean the whole build up to the arc was the black bulls investigating places where megicula has interfered , noelle finding the truth about her mother , asta and the others going to gordon's house when his family has contracted megicula , yami talking with charlotte about her curse etc .. They even did the " you are not allowed to say her name " as if she is godamn voldermort and i think tabata has taken inspiration from harry potter where voldermort is the big final villain . Also the whole devil saga begun because Asta was supposed to clear his name by finding out more about megicula and defeating her . With the amount of influence and hype she has had in the story i think that its clear that tabata either had a huge role for her and decided to switch it up last minute , which is a horrible choice or her role is simply not done her and tabata is trying to create a plot twist again while also having all these forshadowing elements . i have faith that its the latter because it will really be very anticlimactic otherwise .
I do personally love this video, I think it’s amazing and brings up a lot of good points like the section concerning Asta, his mother and Liebe with there being some time inconsistencies concerning the five leaf. With that said however, personally, I would absolutely despise it if Asta lost his power. I understand it’s a personal thing but I hate when main characters die at the end or lose all of their power. I believe it works well for Bleach because Ichigo does recover his power so if Asta does lose his power (which I wouldn’t want) I hope he gets something big in return.
As cool as this theory is, I vastly prefer Lucius as the true antagonist, since we were so used to the kind and compassionate Julius, adapting to Lucius was shocking and highly influential, he’s just so cool.
Megicula will have to fight Beelzebub for Yuno’s grimoire due to Zenon’s deal to protect the Spade Kingdom and its people.

He would rather have her pop up mid arc as a paladin, she talking about plans of her own to break free and take his place or achieve his goal before him, like she wanted to manifest before Lucifero and then be defeated before Lucius downfall
I think this theory was fun to hear, but I wouldn't say it's completely true. Maybe it is, but the most I can imagine is the witch queen appearing with megicula and having great backstory along with it, but Liebe being Tetia's son and all that is a little unbelievable to me. But great theory connecting all that.

8:19 I think it was more because Lolo didn't have the aptitude for attack magic. Undine says so herself (that Lolo hasn't learned a single attack spell, of course we see her use water knights but we never seen them attack, just surround. Thats the case with lolo fighting Vanica. They used mana zone to creat a giant water funnel which powered up noel but did no damage directly but halved Vanicas power) or against Asta when she created water knights that never actually hit asta and she ended up flooding the room so he couldnt breathe. She couldn't learn offensive spells but previous queens could. That's what I think undine meant there.

Have you considered the possibility that Adramelech is in league with Megicula? Adra reports to Lucius that the Lucifero battle went exactly as he foresaw, BUT Lucius can’t see the future of Asta, who was the one to defeat Lucifero, so it’s impossible for that statement to be true. He also has aligned himself with the person who is trying to genocide devils. All of that leads me to think that Adramelech knows something Lucius doesn’t, I.e. Megicula’s plans
It would be incredible if Yuno becomes a Devil host, his and Asta’s fight would be a roller coaster of emotions and it would hit hard with the audience

Now I think this is how it is going to go down , when asta defeats megicula he makes her see the error of her ways. As not all devils are bad (liebe) especially the ones who were originally human.

While I do agree that Megicula could have a deeper role in the story and it feel natural, I highly doubt the idea that she is a former heart queen. She and Undine show no recognition to each other. You'd think if they were paired, spirit and partner, something they've shown to be a very deep connection in most cases, you would expect at least one of them give even a hint at knowing the other.

And it would be an asspull to give her new abilities but in the end it would be useless because at the current point in the mange almost every black bull has a hard counter for magicula. Magna with 6 month prep could beat her like he did Dante. Zora might be able to reverse the effects of curse magic which his trap magic. Henry absorbs mana, Gordon can invert curses, asta has a big black sword that doesn't give a fuck about plot armor, charmy is basically an infinite mana and power glitch, yami is literally a walking F you and might just kill her with second hand smoke, Grey can convert her curses, Gauche can reflect them or copy allies and their abilities including astas antimagic, Finral would be making everyone super fast, luck is basically a demon himself, nacht could transport her to a separate dimension like lilith and naahmah, Noelle can guard people and attack simultaneously, Nero can seal her or seal curses that hit people, etc. She would end up like Morrison

I stated in the video that Megicula was around for over 500 years. Devils do change rank. We saw this with Astaroth and Megicula. Also, if Devils can be created then they could take spots. Megicula lied. She said devils can’t change ranks even though she is one who actually did that.

Here is dumb theory.
It was never stated that licita had her mana absorbing curse form the begging. So what if megeicula cursed licta when she was pregnant with asta and the job of the curse was to abosrb a humans mana and lifeforce and funnel it into the underworld thus giving birth to liebe. Megucila could be trying to make the ultimate weapon against lucifero so she teried to see what would happen if a mana of a human were ti exist for a ling time in the underworld thus resulting in anyti magic the natural counter all mana. This could also explain liebe's human like appearance akin to a high ranking devil eventhough he a low ranker as megicula would have to keep him a secret as too not alert lucifero. This also mean anti magic is asta's magic corrupted in the underworld and why the five leaf clover grimoire chose him because it technically contained his magic. This would also parrell yuno in way as yuno was born with two souls and asta basically got split into two souls.
