Hope you enjoyed this one! I did :) Let me know what other classic tracks you'd like to see me cover in the comments 👇😎
Can you make 1 episode focused on Avicii?
GAIA- Status Excessu D
Faithless- Insomnia
David Vendetta- Hold That Sucker Down
Swedish House Mafia- One
ATB- 9Pm (till i come)
Love to see some of Calvin Harris synths such as bounce / thinking about you, loving this series Will
Sash - Adelante!
Pal Van Dyk - For an Angel!
Carte Blanche still to this day raised the hairs on the back of my neck!!
Biggest trance track of the 90s. OMG Will, had to skip straight to 16 mins to see this. Thanks a bunch you're a legend. Will run home after uni to make this. Will watch the begining when I'm home 🏡❤️😎
I'm loving this series so far! Classic killer sounds. Thanks Will!
That Verracocha sound is spot on, nicely done!! Well, let's face it, they are all great.
Cheers! :)
Excited for this ❤️👍😄
100% agree with Carte Blanche being a stunning tune, still gives me goosebumps when I hear it..... nicely done Sir.
Thanks, and glad you agree!
@@EDMTips Amazing work how you recreated Carte Blanche with Serum. One of the greatest Trance tunes of all times in my view.
You were definitely going out the same time as me because those faces you pull to Veracocha are relatable ha
Awesome thanks for sharing the knowledge!
Carte Blanche . Just wow 🤩. Watching you baking a cake . Adding little flavours here and there . Then it just comes alive .
Yeah - like that!!! Love Ferry!
It's really great to see you covering Ferry Corsten - he was so influential in trance but went under the radar due to using so many aliases. One thing I love about Carte Blanche and Out of the Blue is how the lead patches become resonant as the cutoff frequency is reduced. I have not been able to work out how to do this yet!
Again very helpful video! Good work👌🏻🔈
Serum Master Class! So good to meet more of Xfer!
Thank you so much teacher !
I always wanted to make that lush pluck sound. Love 👍❤️ it.
It looks so simple... If you can explain Gigi D'Agostinos "Lamour Toujours" Lead sound some day it would be great! Thanks! 😊
One of my favorites I would love that one as well
i have a sylenth1 pack that has that exact synth
I would love that!
Would love to learn the lead synth line from ATB's "9pm". Loved that track back in the day. Awesome vid as always Will!!
Great idea! Any other classic tracks you like?
Piano + Pitch bend
@@EDMTips Yes Plz Plz 9Pm/Don't Stop/The Fields of Love/Killer anything by Atb 🙏🙏🙏
@Nick Farnan for fields of love: its definitely an acoustic guitar...unless otherwise
@@EDMTips Encore Une Fois by Sash or Out of The Blue By Ferry
Edit: also Missing (todd terry mix)by Everything but the girl could be interesting imo.
Awesome stuff in this upload! Could you do a video on different ways to make transitions? I find that my weakest point in producing is creating smooth/clean transitions. Thanks Will!
Good idea!
Thanks for this! Now I’m going to create 90s house.
Go for it!
Great work. Thank you.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! 🙌🙏
Really nice. Thanks!
You’re welcome!
Hell yeah.. ahem brother!
Love this idea… there are so many classic sounds reused. which define a genre. So knowing how to make them rather than sample is great, as you can them make them your own or add a new idea. Keep them coming mate! Old enough to remember good life first release :)
🙌🙏
Awesome!
Love how you play the Carte Blanche riff on the default Serum sound and say "this doesn't sound particularly good" but then get distracted by the fact it's just an awesome riff :D
EXCELLENT ! Merci Will
You're welcome, Xavier, I am glad you enjoyed it! 🙂🙌🏻
Veracocha isn't only Ferry Corsten, this is a co-work with other trance legend - Vincent de Moor
Can’t remember where I heard this but the inner city piano sample was sampled from nitro deluxe, this brutal house. Keep up the good work, really enjoyed the James Wiltshire episode
Hell yeah! This is a awesome series! Please do Mike NRG - Lost In Dreams next 🤗
Ferry Corsten! …..Will you are a legend, just had a massive flash back to my Ibiza days ha ha ha ha
The best!!!!
HELL YEAH . Can you do a piece on that picotto lizard sound . Mainly the bass and kick but a whole break down/remake of that track would really help with all the BXR legends of the last days
Carte Blanche is so epic. I love it so much! It would be great if you make a new video in these series. Very helpful 🎉
I love that sound too! I enjoyed those series but it was disappointing how few people watched them 😕
@@EDMTips Too bad, probably for the real synth nerds 😁
That's what I thought. Shame as I love recreating those 🙂
Yes William!
Great video! would love to see Bedrock Heaven Scent
❤️😁💯👌🏽 will living that good life ✌🏽😉
You know it ;)
Wonderful. Would also like to see you extend this series to famous bass sounds.
czcams.com/video/VG2qMq-TjfA/video.html
The last one thooo. Amen.
Hole in One - Life's Too Short or Das Glockenspiel - Humate Mix both epic
please cover some tech house sounds like the bubbly, glitchy and poppy percussion type rhythms we hear so often!!! hopefully im not the only one requesting it! lol
Great suggestion, Nick, I will add this to my list and let's see how many people will vote for it! 🙂
I like this format a lot, keep it up!
Can you try to recreate the Artmann kind of synth-stab which you can hear for example in his track "Only Us"? Would be super dope!
You are the man... !!!
🙌🙏 You know it :)
Great one.
Maybe "cass and slide - preception"?
Gonna made these awesome sounds in Vital
Veracocha, that takes me back to Gatecrasher in sheffield, i feel old now
Nice tutorial! thanks! please teach how to produce Progressive House like Alex O'Rion!
the best of all Veracocha - Carte Blanche
Legend
Appreciate it! 🙌🙏
Since we're sharing Ferry Corsten stories, he once signed my passport and as a result I nearly got blocked from leaving the Netherlands for passport tampering!
😆 That's brilliant!
16:51 fangirling so much it comes across in the editing. Lol just joking. Punk was always my fav. Always made me think of Ghost in the Shell.
I am working Eoin improving editing this year, no more fingerling for me :)
Yay Sandstorm!!! Can you please please 🙏 show us how to make the lead synth in the Tron: Legacy theme?
I will add this to my list and let’s see how many people will vote for it! 🙂🙌🏻🙏🏻
Iconic ❤️
🙌🙏Thanks for the support, Darbo!
Hey Will! Living the content since I found your channel a month ago. Just a thought though, one thing I love about your content is that so often you stick to stock plugins, but I suspect when you switch to serum you might lose some people. Why not switch to Vital which is a more accessible synth for the masses?
Veracocha WOW!!! What a track. must be something in the air...was reminiscing on this track only a few weeks ago. Feel like the universe was listening because now I even know how to programme the lead sound ( feels like I only had the money for a whippy...& somehow got two flakes chopped nuts & the sauce for free. Cheers Will you're an absolute Legend. However if you don't make the vid of how you met Ferry Corsten that night Bangkok I will have to Unsubscribe....probably....maybe....ok not.🤪
Wow - That's great some great EDM tunes in their. I would have had some William Orbit Adagio for Strings or some of the Chemical Brothers.
William Orbit (well, the Tiesto remix): czcams.com/video/ur3GwcbGmFE/video.html
@@EDMTips Also what about Paul Van Dyke For an Angel.
Nice !! When you get a chance can you try making a tutorial of kaskades song “Llove v3
Veracocha was Ferry AND Vincent de Moor 🥸 #trancefacts
Quality video as always ❤️
This is more of a synthwave-y style, but I'd like to see the sounds from 憂鬱 - Sun
Maybe you could show how to. Make the hoover sound, like human resource - dominator
Great video. Pls show the notes also for the different tracks, thanks :)
Noted, David, glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing :) I would love a recreation of the echoed pluck in Underworld's Born Slippy :) . I don't know if this sound did change your life too ;)
He already did in an earlier video
Like this, you mean? 😎 czcams.com/video/ur3GwcbGmFE/video.html
Maybe also do some lessons with Vital?
Hi Will, what does the resampling element bring to the sound where you could have opted to play it straight out of Serum and then add the additional effects on the midi channel like the bit reducer etc? Cheers.
It means the texture changes slightly with each note played, as it’s slowing the sample down for the lower notes and speeding it up for the higher notes
I want to learn how to make the bass line that's common in hands up music, e.g. Cascada's "Everytime We Touch" and Manian's "Raver's Fantasy".
Saw wave = life hahah
Hi will do you make tutorial of Disorder track Okay
just few classics... :)
cafe der mar - energy52
agnelli and nilson - el nino
greece 2000
binary finary - 1999
pvd - for an angel
system f - out of blue
👆🏻
Search for the midi and start off with some saw waves like the Vera tut and you'll be on the way with a lot of these. A lot of the old stuff was all done on cheap hardware by people just jamming so sound design wasn't massively complex.
Make a video of the main sound on “Synaesthesia” by The Thrillseekers, i really want to know about that sound.
When you ask so nicely! I will add this to my long to-do list :)
Awesome! Thx for the work ☺️. Maybe one dumb and beginner question.. why choosing to modulate the filter cutoff with an envelope instead of an LFO ? Thanks a lot :)
The envelope is for each note but most importantly it has ADSR. You can also add an LFO to the cutoff to change it over time, every beat, 2 beats etc. Or faster then 1 beat. I do have a synth where you can loop an ADSR that becomes a LFO.
@@mattgiantmusic oh nice, thx a lot for the explanation :)
For a lead, how about SM Trax Got The Groove :D
Can you use Vital for next videos.
I would love to learn the lead sound on The Crystal Method’s “Keep Hope Alive” or Prodigy’s “Smack My Bitch Up”
303 and guitar through a distortion pedal
Avicii - levels? I would love this one
Is that a Tudor? :D
Good eye, sir 😎
@@EDMTips Haha nice. Love their watches, great taste man.
the lean on plucks are not all played at the same time
The original Darude sound was produced using a Roland JP-8080
No, it wasn’t.
@@darude Then we need to correct your Trance collague Estuera as well. It was mentioned here last week: czcams.com/video/AkeXfoB1U6o/video.html
@@darude Thanks, but now we need to correct our trance collegue Estuera (Jonas Steur) as well. It was mentioned here last week: czcams.com/video/AkeXfoB1U6o/video.html
@@maus3454 Yes, indeed, as he shows that the supersaw “strings” patch IS from the 8080, but in this video the “dududu” lead is talked about, so your statement in this context will make a comment reader not knowing anything about said synth think THAT sound is what you mean.
How about some DNB!
Bro pls support old classics trance
Pls make more trance
Any particular artists or tracks you’d like to see me cover?
Saltwater - The legacy Alphazone remix
Does anyone know what song four is?
Yes, it says in the description Darude - Sandstorm ☺️
DJ 🐍
garrix just pick vengeance sample for that sound
Me for once hate Martin Garix Animals more than any Darude! 👍
For the verracocha sound, sounds really descent in serum but... Will never ever have the thiknes or analogue sound of the JP 8000 imo.
JP80x0 is a digital synth.
@@darude I know but it has a thiknes that a vst synth never can have
@@frederikjacob1985 Nah, simply untrue. A virtual analog synth IS pretty much a VST hidden inside a hardware case and working within a very purpose-built computer. If Roland wanted, they could easily make a VST version that would sound identical (as they have made many; Roland Cloud), but “better” without the onboard digital to analog and sound card analog to digital conversion needed using the hardware unit. Maybe you like the noise floor generated by the hardware box, but I could do without it. Maybe also the aliasing present in some of that era VA synths can be thought of charming and part of the sound, but with more knowledge and better coding these days that can be avoided and/or implemented as option, so the VST user could choose to use it or not.
Also, even without Roland Cloud JP-80x0 you can re-create that synth pad sound with U-He Diva’s digital synth part and I swear nobody can tell the difference, or if like 1% can, it’s not the “thickness”, but just that the emulation thru the whole oscillator-filter & modulation chain is not 100.00% accurate. Trust me, I used the 8080 for several years and I still have it and I’ve listened to both in isolation and in the mix for countless hours.
@UCvxu4st8jt0Li69hAh_nqQg i know you long enough 😉. Even got sandstorm on vinyl since it release.
Hi will.... how are you ? spoke to you last yr on Zoo call wow your ripping it up on this Tutorial Shame you dont run Fl Studio 2,09 :P Carte Blanche (French Edit) · Veracocha mite be one of my favourites deep tune. awesome 1999,
Animals....that godforsaken song....
😆
Not sure how useful this is. After watching you can recreate these overused sounds that are in most ways worse than the original anyway.
Does that make you a better producer? I don't think so.
About as useful as this comment 😆
@@EDMTips Just trying to save some aspiring producers some time. So yes, useful I'd say.
