No, he very explicitly stated that the shooting of the can was pure cursed energy, and the twisting/squeezing of the can was a cursed technique. Of course he was being vague by saying 'a' cursed technique, but that was for the sake of explanation, and we know that there's no common usage CT you can learn with those effects, and it therefore must be an application of limitless.
Yeah I think the other comments might be right about it being a cursed technique, because Gojo's demonstration on the can showed that pure cursed energy is more like a projectile, whereas the technique twisted it.
For non-manga readers, it should be noted that his Hollow Purple is instantaneous. Obviously they gave it more screentime to showcase what it does (directionus deletus), but it happens in a split second. Love your reactions, Flexie, you really take your time with each scene and you try to understand as the info comes to you, instead of doing what many other "reaction" channels do, which is just go from one scene to the next, or PREWATCH (the biggest sin of all!). Idk about physically gifted. Maki (& the other guy who's like her) can obviously wield it well cuz she's super strong. That's not a feature of Playful Cloud imo, that'd hold true for any weapon strong enough to not break if Maki was wielding it. If at all the growing more powerful thing is true, it'd be in relation to cursed energy.

For how hype s1 is, season 2 is massively more hype. Season 1 won anime of the year when it released and just recently Season 2 has won anime of the year (Crunchyroll) 2024. Goes to show how good the show is.

That's also how I reacted when i saw Gojo in this episode haha.
Haven’t read the manga but I heard that it was instantaneous. One panel he shoots the technique and in the next it had passsd through the whole forest. The anime made it more dramatic though and we have no complaints.
This was one of the best episodes of Season 1. Can’t wait for Season 2 though. S1 felt more of a setup season and kinda good at best, but S2 is a real ride. So amazing!

The Lady you just saw on the beggining, she has a very high significance on the story. She is a sorcerer, a "Strong" one.
Pay attention to her Name and her rank as a sorcerer in s2, lots of people forget about her presence on the story, she's one of the underdogs in the story.

So, about the old man with the guitar. I read somewhere how that specific model of guitar was first sold on Japan in the 60s or 70s. That plus his many piercings seems to indicate that Gakuganji (I think it's his name) was a punk in his youth, with little to no regards to what the conservatives used to think about the "proper way" of dressing (and by extension, of jujutsu/living).
But in his old age, we see him being now one of the conservatives in jujutsu Society, denying the young their own way and forcing their ideals on everyone, and his buttheading with Gojo shows us that.
He still uses his piercings probably cause he thinks it's cool, but in reality it only serves to show how he became a hypocrite, throwing away his ideals for power in jujutsu Society. (and he's apparently looking for a drummer too)
PS: I had kinda forgotten how awesome s1 is, can't wait to see your mind melt at the first 5 eps in s2.
I guess once he got higher in society he realised why a lot of those rules existed. Realised he might have been wrong, maybe?
@@thrilla72 I mean, you could be right. But I don't think that's what happened in this specific story. Akutami enforces at every moment he can about how clinging to tradition stunts the new generation, and how they use their views to keep a tight and dehumanizing leash on those deemed "problematic".
My guess it's how he views Japan's cultura itself, last I read the younget generation are getting really tired of feeling like they have no power to change things, with they fate always being chosen by those older than themselfs.
