Their level of musicianship is utterly amazing, abut for me it’s Bruce and Pete who really shine in performances like this. Steve is great too, but you can sometimes pick-up on the fact that he’s the youngest member of the band here and there in his playing. Christ, Bruce’s bass playing is unbelievable. It’s such a pity that there was massive clash of egos between Elvis and Bruce, as the Attractions were incredible.
My first festival and I thought all festivals were like that..... never went back to Geleen, but I doubt they topped ‘79 even if Mick Jagger did not sing his hit with Peter Tosh
Weird. When he was walking up to the stage I could have sworn that I'd seen an interview with Geddy Lee in that same spot. Looks like that was the case.
Wow, music just got so good I mean even better in the mid seventies and in 1980 it was just an explosion of having the greatest rock and roll from the past and all the great newer stuff The Cars The Police,The Clash,The Pretenders Elvis Costello RUSH ,ELO ,ELP ,REO and REM,Z.Z.Top , Dire Straits,Tom Petty and the HeartBreakers,FleetwoodMac,Alan Parsons Project, I mean, list is endless.
Loved him as long he was with the Attractions. Never again. Attractions are one of the best bands ever - Bruce Thomas on bass - genius, also wrote a book connecting Bruce Lee with Jimi Hendrix - and his brother on drums.
Don’t think Pinkpop ever topped the ‘79 line-up, but of course I’m biased 🤪 anyway thunder was part of the rhythm section @. 2:46 The Police before they hit the big time, Rush, AWB, Peter Tosh…
Gage it’s hard to sing in the original range, too fast, you need a lot of throat power to be able to do that live over and over again. If he did that he’d probably ruin his voice
Sometimes I think that love is just a tumor you've got to cut it out. And wait it gets better: Sometimes I almost feel just like a human being. Forget your English grammar, forget your Led Zepplin, this is the way a band should sound.
That was badass... A true original with a killer band...

live versions of lipstick vogue are the best
I disagree, the "yous" on the studio version are superior and the best part of the chorus for me.
Dude in the red shirt off to the side of the stage enjoying the set is Joe Perry from Aerosmith.
What a timing that thunder at 2.45. Was there, dancing in the rain and hail...
My first festival and I thought all festivals were like that..... never went back to Geleen, but I doubt they topped ‘79 even if Mick Jagger did not sing his hit with Peter Tosh
Saw this one, just after the Police and dire straits and before Rush. Incredible lineup that day
Weird. When he was walking up to the stage I could have sworn that I'd seen an interview with Geddy Lee in that same spot. Looks like that was the case.
Only thing that could have made this concert better was seeing The Cars along with these guys because that they were just shining them.
Except Rush
Nobody here plays their instrument like a normal person, it just looks like they're attacking them, but it still slaps so hard
Someone's scratching at the window!
Great song, demented stuff, a fever dream masterpiece.
Brilliant, as ever! Journalist worried about Elvis getting wet by rain... hehe! 😅 Love that one!
i was there and FAN!
I thought the thunder sound was coming from the band. What a great clip!
Legendary gig. I was there!
costello was a style icon on its own.
Aw he was quite cute when he was young

They are not brothers, actually..
And the Imposters still kick ass live.
White Reggae.
Bruce Thomas was The Best Bass players he ever had..
Yeah, he was....tightest band in the world.
I question whether Elvis would have been ever been successful with out Bruce! He really knows music!
Best f**king band from the UK besides the Beatles. Ever! Apparently EC & BT hate each other...
TRUTH!
I never realized before that watching the detectives intro sounds so much like graham parker's don"'t ask me questions
I always thought Steve was one of the best keyboard players ever. Up there with my other favorite Ray Manzarek
better. come on now
at this time there was a thing called corperate rock [reo journey wagon]well elvis blew the doors off that.thank god.
Love the Manny's Shlepper T Shirt Still Have mine
Let’s put this beam in the middle of the stage. Yeah, wrap it in foam you’ll never notice it...
heh-heh...
Its health & safety gone mad
Wow just Wow
Steve Naïve!
EC and BT should make up.

Nice job, man. A tough workout for bass & drums, i know!
Don’t think Pinkpop ever topped the ‘79 line-up, but of course I’m biased 🤪 anyway thunder was part of the rhythm section @. 2:46
The Police before they hit the big time, Rush, AWB, Peter Tosh…
Why did he never say Youououououou in any live performance m, that is the hook for lipstick vogue.

Probably too hard to sing that whole line and play at the same time
Yugoslavia ended
