- This stunning 6-minute version of "Watching The Detectives" is from a European festival in 1979. We synched it up to the stereo radio broadcast for maximum impact. The Attractions are in top form at this show. We have many hours of Elvis Costello live footage, in-studio performances, interviews, b-roll, etc. We also have great footage of most the important artists from the mod/new wave/punk era including Graham Parker, the Clash, the Jam, the Police, XTC, Joe Jackson, Madness, the Specials, Sex Pistols, U2 and many more.
Reelin' In The Years Productions houses the world's largest library of music footage, containing over 20,000 hours of material covering nearly every genre from the last 60 years. We have live concerts, TV appearances, interviews, in-studio segments, b-roll and more. In addition to music we have thousands of hours of interviews with the most recognizable celebrities, comedians, politicians, athletes, artists and authors of the 20th Century. If you need footage for your film, documentary, TV show, commercial, museum exhibit or presentation, we are your one-stop shop. Visit our online database at www.reelininthe... to explore our archive, but please email us as we are constantly adding new material to the archive. We do not supply material to fans or collectors under any circumstance, so please do not contact us if that is your intention. If you own a television show with music footage or filmed home movies or video of musical artists, we might be interested in representing your footage for licensing. What a slamming band The Attractions were. I love it uptempo like this.
Those guys were absolute KILLERS!!! Elvis has so many incredible talents, as a lyricist, songwriter, guitarist, and an incredible vocalist, projecting so much emotion. LOL - and he was a world-class sweater - seeing him soaking wet in that suit makes me want to turn the air-conditioning down about 10 degrees!
He surprised me with that guitar playing, didn't see it coming.
40 years today that this song, and the album My Aim Is True was released. Surreal!
Some songs take you back, this is one of those songs.
Elvis&Reggae...Excellent !
So good - great reggae vibe.

Mr Castello and his geniuses elegantly made a complete FOOL out of all of us ..?...and I completely agree with it...and I would like to say THANK YOU may have onother please...

Back when Declan McManus was Cool! Declan’s a Cooler name!
Next to Mark Gardens the best key board person....
While driving around town it would put a smile on my face to hear this rather than rap and south of the border stuff.
Where is the detective in this situation ?

Does the watermark have to be in the middle of the screen?
It’s very off putting, surely it could of been smaller and lashed in the corner?!
Great, if just a shade too fast IMO. Pink suit shows the 'effort'!
could be they only had so much time to play, since there were other acts on the bill...
It’s all on the drummer. Honestly, I’m a touring drummer myself and I am sick to death of being slaved to click tracks. It’s so refreshing to hear good old school show tempos and being in the moment. It’s fast yes, but it’s so spontaneously good.
ruined by the ads.
Adblock or CZcams premium will sort that out.
Must be kinda hot out there I'd say...
It was a warm day, but the performance of Elvis Costello & the Attractions was interrupted by a formidable little rainstorm, including thunder and lightning. I was at this festival.
Muhahaha. Those girls at 0:35. Are they trying to dance or experiencing a drug fueled psychosis?
Robert Smith's dental plaque Yes.
I Think they were being attacked by a swarm of hornets 🐝 or wasps 🐝
Duran Duran does a better cover version
This isn't a cover it's Elvis' song, but their cover is awesome!
