      @@evilmiera Can you imagine if we got rules to run stuff like Loxatl or Byavoor mercenaries, or that let you put one of your other armies under the thrall of some xenos mind controllers by replacing your higher ranked models with a Cryptos/Nostrafex/Nephilim? That would be my dream honestly, it would allow a lot of the more exotic factions we hear about in the lore to have a tabletop presence while only requiring GW to release a handful of new kits. Not to mention the tactical opportunities. By the time they do it though I'll probably have converted half the things I'm hoping for into "counts as" models.

    • @xenoblad
      @xenoblad Před 4 lety +10

      @pat it makes sense that the galaxy would have SOME civilization that isn't backwards in technology. You need rainy days to appreciate the sunny days and vice versa. If everyone is a homicidal xenophobic moron that's often a ludite, it just feels like a simplistic story on par with Michael bay movies.
      Think of how Inquisitors actually aren't as trigger happy about exterminatus as the memes say they are if you read the lore, and often persecute their own for doing this. The is some sunshine to make us appreciate the rainy days of fucked up Inquisitorial actions.
      The issue is that the writers ignored the already existing issues of the cast system and slowly introduced mind control from the etherials and now this warp crap.
      It would be more interesting to have the Etherials rely primarily on the propaganda and manipulations from tech.
      Stalin didn't need mind control, he used psychology and tech to manipulate a populace. Who looks at the USSR in space and says, that's not grimdark enough? Did the writers not think the real USSR was not actually that grimdark?

    • @H240909
      @H240909 Před 4 lety +4

      Grimdark by definition is a dystopian setting. Which by its very nature is an over the top and dramatized genre that ignores realism. I also don't see how this warp entity is "hurting" the Tau considering it saved the Fourth Sphere fleet, stabilized the Startide Nexus, and quite possibly stopped a massive chaos fleet from striking at the empire's core worlds. The Tau have always been characterized by their self righteous narcissism so of course some more radical members would react violently to what they see as a subversion of their "enlightened" society. It adds depth to a faction that previously were all meat puppets for the Ethereals' orders.

    • @GreatGreenGoo
      @GreatGreenGoo Před 3 lety +1

      The Tau always felt to me that they would utilize every advantage they can. They wouldnt fight another battle and weaken them selves in the process if they didnt have to. They would use this warp entity to their advantage
