- The Skoda Kodiaq has grown but so has the price! With most models being priced over 40K, have Skoda gotten too big for their boots?

10 years ago?! Skoda have been making good cars for longer than that.
Love the way how You present good and valuable information from new cars.
Best regards from the Netherlands.
Great review! I love Skoda. I bought a Skoda in September 2023 and I love it. I bought the Monte Carlo version with some additional packs and as much as I love German manufacturers, it would take a lot to drag me away from Skoda! ❤
I love that! I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying your car.
Think it needs a full hybrid engine
Bro Škoda is Czech 😂😂😂😂
Agreed, I have a '22 my car and the dealer is really good. I, personally, think that we could manage without a lot of the tech that we're being forced to pay for that I, for one, will seldom if ever use. Really annoying having to fight the steering when the car decides I'm not exactly in the centre of my lane.
Refreshingly practical reviews. Great job!
I really appreciate it thank you
Really enjoy your reviews...thank you
Glad you like them!
great video Tish keep the videos coming love watching them.
Thank you! Will do!
Great video. I'm a Skoda fan too, recently bought a Fabia SEL DSG.
Skoda have come a long way since the days of the bad corny jokes made about them. I would go as far as to say they are surpassing the parent companies products in style qualiyy and interrior finishes. The car featured looked amazing inside but i am not sure abut the exterior colour. Yet another great professional review Tish.
Your videos are always so fun :) And I totally see how the upper glovebox looks like a football 😆
great review Tish, looking forward to your Octavia 2024 review when it launches in a few months...
For a good advert for a car it's sometimes worth checking out what taxi drivers use along with the police. Skoda was a go to brand for both since the 2000's with the Octavia being a prime purchase with the cooking vRS model used by the rozzers. This new Kodiaq looks great and must be right up there in the equipment, practicality and price. It uses the same underpinnings as the rest of the VW group with some little clever touches to the car as well. I agree that the D pillar colour looks a bit odd, in black or body colour it would look better in my opinion but it wouldn't be a deal killer. This new model has a hard act to follow as the MK1 car was already a well proven car. Personally I'll hold off and see what the all new Karoq turns out like and maybe the new Enyaq electric. Many thanks Tish for sharing a great overview of a very interesting car.
Great work Tish, I would like to share my thoughts on this car with you but I will save it for later and get cracking with another paper. Great review as usual.
Excellent car review Tish 👏🏻beautiful backdrop👍smart outfit. Hope you have a wonderful day 😀
Thank you so much 🤗
*Your positivity brightened my day. Sending good vibes your way!* 😘
Thank you! You too!
I must say, Tish - I’ve been lurking on your channel for a while now, and I have finally subscribed. You are doing good work. Refreshing.
New Skodas are gorgeous
Hi Tish,
I bought a year old Volvo XC40 B4 Ultimate mild hybrid in January. Chuffed to bits with it. Keep up the good work, love your reviews on your channel and others you work for. 🙏
I’m so pleased you’re enjoying your car, as you know, I absolutely love Volvo ! So great, Choice! Thank you for watching and supporting.
Lovely car the Volvo but the service costs in the UK are outrageous.
@@-DC- no problem for me, work pay for it. 🫡
Great review 😀 very Nice car👍
16:47 Excellent job by Skoda, both interior and exterior. The only problem I have is that they should have put in atuomatic folding seats instead of manual folding seats. Apart from that minor issue it's a perfect SUV and if I hadn't seen it on Auto social UK I don't think I would have looked at it at all. Great review Tish as always.
Will be ordering the 2.0tdi 4x4 in race blue . Will be my 3rd kodiaq stunning versatile suv great family car and so much more
Great 👍 Video Review, my favourite Paint Colour Is Blue 😊
Thank you very kind for the review! It's very profesional in my opinion. How does it compare to Vw Tiguan, in terms of rafinament, sound insolation and build quality? Thand you.
Wow new content again!
I’ve been trying to aim for two videos a week 😅😅 very busy!
@@AutoSocialUK your hard-work and development (growth) has been evident, well done. I’m not in the market for a new vehicle at moment just generally love cars and have another yr with my Abarth-Comp. I was a young teenager when ‘CarBuyer’ came up and I followed Matt but personally for me CarWow has become less relevant, less regular vehicles which is where my interest is. I briefly enjoyed the Vanarama format with Mark, but that didn’t last. Your channel has become my go to.
Great review. I would certainly consider this car if I were at that end of the market. But maybe I'd go Superb. I'm on my second Octavia. I do like Skoda.
Love this car
Love the changes! Whereabouts were you in Spain Tish ? Looking forward to another video. Cheers, Tom☺️
Liking the new spec inserts. Shame no 4x4 petrol but I guess that is vrs but it would be nice to have a non sporty trim. I would skip the fresh cow pat yellow but like the tan leather. Did you try the cooled front seats? Big tick for load cover under boot floor too few do this. I think the only thing it really misses is an option for a cargo net behind the front seats to max out those 2k litres. Looking forward to your UK Superb review.
I think it’s been pretty essential on these new models with lots of choice! Hahahah cow pat yellow is quite accurate, that’s my fave so far. Yes cooled seats were lovely, although they do sometimes make me feel a bit odd… needed in Spain with leather though! Superb review might not be until it reaches that UK now.
Everybody Gangsta till the Mechatronic Unit Packs Up.
Super review, Tish!! With Skoda's improvements, they are closing the gap to VW. Seems a lot of product overlap
Are there isofix points in the third row please?
Tish. Yup. Intro spot on. Took good decade plus. Maybe 15 years. Now Skoda almost has kurb appeal ??? Well. I believe it does. Very likeable cars. All started with VRS models.
It’s definitely getting there. I always thought the all black versions they do look absolutely fantastic! Even bigger kurb appeal than some BMWs nowadays!
@@AutoSocialUKyup. That murdered out look for the younger generations. The acid green looks epic on a pitch. Unsure what it’d be like live with and on re sale. But good cars. Skoda and Mazda make more interesting cars than jelly mould less than reliable Merc and BMW. Audi make nice cars. I wouldn’t mind where my money went. Hardly a bad car about these days.
It's a good SUV ... spacious & elegant ... + the impression of a "well done car" is present in every aspect. 👍👍
And the price is decent - for this segment. 👍
This option with the cognac "leather" (I presume that is not real leather) is quite nice ... and I know more about that ... from my experience of (amateur) car designer ... with my first car (an old Dacia 1310 given by my father when I started my lawyer career ). In order to make it to become my car ... I gave it a new exterior paint (from a dusty-grey to a metallic blue ... which was a blue-purple by accident ... but I liked it even more) + a few elements of a refresh version (more modern spoilers, new front lighs s.o.). And ... at interior ... I changed the seats ... making a deal with a local specialist in seats covers ... giving to him the old seats + money ... in order to make light-beige "leather" covers for a pair of front seats from an Audi 100 ... & a rear bench from an Audi Quatro (Recaro profiled).
The final transformation of the car was stunning ... the feeling of luxury was high & persistent ... and my Dacia was the only of its kind that people stop walking and stare at it - through the windows ... like in "foreign cars". 😃
He he ... a guy from a car-wash once said ... after he finished to wash & polish it : " - Finally Dacia has got it right". Just to amuse me ... I didn't contradict him ... 🤭 Well ... actually, that car - under "my design input" 😃- had a level of poshness ... that Dacia brand hasn't ( even now ... 23 years later ) ... 😏
As a long-time Octavia owner, I am a bit worried that Skoda are abandoning their traditional customers. I know that the world doesn't stand still but the Kodiaq seems to have so many features that I would never use but for which I suppose I would be paying. My car is nearly 15 years old and has never had a problem; I want to be confident that my car can go 500 miles to my holiday destination without problems rather than worrying about how many cup holders or USB ports it has.
Great review. Would you pick the kodiaq over the new superb? I am currently trying to decide between the two.
Ohhhh that’s super tough. If you have a family I would say Kodiaq just because kids love an SUV but Estates are cooler 😎
Currently driving a superb combi sportline which I love but your right, kids prefer my wife’s enyaq! I will probably go for the kodiaq but worried I might regret not getting the new superb which is getting great reviews. Will be changing in July. Shame there are no demos as yet to test drive here in Ireland. Nice to get the opinion of someone who has checked out both cars. Thank you
I hate to have to break it to everyone but this is just an oversized version a minivan from the eighties and if it doesn't have four wheel drive low gear then it not a SUV and car makers need to quit calling them that !
Looks fantastic. Not so many standard features as a VW. New Tiguan is smaller and looking a lot uglier with its big plastic front. What did you think of the repositioning of the auto box selector??? Good overall reporting👍👍
I'm heading to my local skoda dealership today. You sold it.. it's case of where do I sign it.
I want to see those storage areas, Why keep the camera on the reviewer.?
I would want the SEL but with only 5 seats, why don’t Skoda offer this option?
I just hate those headlight rounded corners!
The whole car is so angular and sharp, what were they thinking?
Eniaq looks so much better, just cause they followed through the sharp design all the way.
Have notice all these car reviewers are so nice ( there wording is funny). So car companys will invite them to there new cars show rooms. Nice Advert.
So other than the price what do you think there is to criticise about this car, it is just a really well rounded product. I will always be honest about the vehicles that I’m reviewing. This just happens to be a very positive one because of how positive the changes are. One thing I will say is I didn’t look too much into the pricing whilst filming the video, it was only after that, I realised it’s a very expensive car and this is a considerable negative for me.
I agree many are more product placement and now influencers by law have to declare if they have been given anything but I notice most still fail to do so.
@@AutoSocialUK As I am torn between choosing my career path as a motoring journalist and a sales person I think your point is fair. I try to honest while reviewing cars because it is the customer who watches the video not the company. Honest reviews are always the best
How do you double the value of a skoda?
Great SUV, but the price make me looking for a SH Touareg instead, which is cheaper than my configured Kodiaq 😢
That’s completely understandable, I’ll be honest when I did this review. I didn’t look in too much to the prices until afterwards otherwise I definitely would’ve mentioned it a bit more throughout the video. They are asking for a lot of money!
The reason I didn't pick the Kodiaq last time was many of the features I wanted were extras. With other brands for the same price they weren't, so I didn't buy Skoda. The 1st colour is horrible. I am looking for a smaller car now and have shortlisted Karoq Sportline.
They’ve added them all now BUT it’s going to cost you 😅 I totally know what you mean!
I wish my missus would ignore the false preconceptions of the past and let me buy this!
I’d argue that 10 years ago Skoda’s were good and underrated cars, 25 years ago though they weren’t so good 😂
In our market (New Zealand) they’re as expensive as their immediate Volkswagen counterparts unfortunately although I’d argue that the interiors are a spot nicer on the Skoda’s but resale is that main issue against it’s Volkswagen model mates..
25 years ago you had the new Fabia and Octavias, both of which were top of their respective classes and based on the latest VW platforms.
I think it was the end of the 80s people still see Skodas as bad from, even though they really weren't. Since the Felicia in 94 and Octavia in 96 and Fabia in 99, the perception of the brand has changed dramatically. It's really only the UK that had a problem.
Someone’s picked up a bad habit in how they hold the steering wheel!
I've been looking at Skoda the last few weeks the once good value brand I have found to be quite basic in specifaction and expensive, For the price of this new model there are far better options to be had. 2021 model from £27,650.. 2024 from £36,645 thats some jump in price.
Very nice car. But the color isn’t my cup of tea. I think blue or dark green would be the shades to go for. The space and the looks of the interior just makes this car stand out.
I agree, it wouldn’t be the one I would go for either even though it’s very unusual. I love the tan leather though!
What do you mean by perceptions of the brand 10 years ago? Skoda's of 10 years ago were no different from the Skoda's of today. It was the Skodas of 20 years ago and more that had the cheap reputation.
I have a name describing the color... 'Golden Shite'
sorry I am a very straight forward man
Nice review though and the car looks good in and out except the color...
Decent review but no where near a premium brand - competition is fierce for 2025 with supercruise, digital rear view mirror and massaging seats to name a few. Hyundai Palisade, GMC Acadia Denali and Buick Avenir are the best mid size affordable I have seen.
Can you do a skoda enyaq review
The outside colour is great , and love the inside colour scheme. The car itself utterly hideous, but I would say that about any SUV .
Fair enough! Thank you for sharing your thoughts Richard!
Much confused Spain, Skoda , you, which is more beautiful !!!!!
Spain for sure!! 🇪🇸
@@AutoSocialUK Spain looks beautiful, but you look gorgeous, Tish! ❤
Try 20 years ago!.
Your gone very posh lately Tish in your last couple of videos. Not sure if you realise that. Don't forget where you came from and hiw you got there.
I can think this colour is 'premium mud'
I don’t know why but to me it’s trying to look like a Peugeot at the rear panel which is 🤢
Hasn't got sh*t on the '24 Kia Sorento
Not influenced.......🙂
BRONZE.
BRONX 🤙🏼
Well...the title should be 'Don't buy a SUV' amyway. We have enough of these big, bulky, useless vehicles with little to no actuall offroad capabilities and being bought by soccer moms for bringing their kids to school and doing groceries.
I do agree with your comments to an extent, and especially about them, not actually being off-road capable, but I think in this instance, a car with seven seats is always going to be large and the SUV body shape helps with headroom.
Comedy car. No normal family could ever afford that hunk of junk. So it will be purchased by retireds with fat private pensions. The back seats will never be used and the driver will be lucky to be able to see the front of the bonnet, let alone the road and other traffic. "Premium SUV" nearly all need to be completely banned or taxed off the road as they are a disaster area waiting to happen. "I know, lets jack a car up so it cannot change direction as well or brake as well. Then lets give it the power to do 0-60 in under seven seconds." Just a crash statistic of the future.
Ps great review, thanks Tish
Sounds like a bit of jealousy creeping in, remember one day you will be old if you are lucky
@@trevorg2128 mmm, I drive a BMW 325, and every day have these clown cars getting too close behind. I can stop quickly if I need to, but these cannot. The laws of physics are pretty clear, make something taller and it is less stable and on road, more dangerous. Or do people wish to argue with Einstein.
@@jumpferjoy1st BMW driver, that says it all 🤣🤣🤣 you could write a book on smugness. Great review BTW
