@@albygates4263 he's iconic very rare does it occur when an actor was born to be a certain character he was so Tony Soprano I can't imagine anyone else in the universe portraying that character. RIP James Gandolfini!!

Amen to that, the greatest actor.
So many great TV dramas have been made since the 90s to today. I've watched amazing shows like X-Files, The Wire, Breaking Bad, House of Cards, The Crown, Dexter, NYPD Blue, Mad Men and many more. That being said, The Sopranos is hands down the best TV drama I've ever seen, and James Gandolfini was the x-factor for that show.

He looks more and more like Philip Leotardo every day. His voice sounds so much more articulate now too, I could totally see him playing a role like that of Philly.
James was an actor that even up to date is very rare. His dedication to his role. He would stay up and not sleep to play his morning parts so he could look tired.
He definitely deserves to be nominated. Pussy was one of my favorite characters even though he was short lived.

I've just watched the sopranos and I have to say, James Gandolfini was perfect for the role of New Jersey's Narcissist Tony Soprano.
The Gestures, the eyes and specially the anger was demonstrated in a perfect nutshell.

He was arrested 28 times and was connected to the Colombo crime family. He took on acting WHILE he was doing time. It’s no wonder that he absolutely nailed the role as Paulie. I will never forget that menacing snarl of his.
Wow, a couple of them have grayed considerably, notably Michael Imperioli and Vincent Pastore, both fine actors in their own right. No one will ever replace "Jimmy", though. When he died, so did any chance of The Sopranos" reunion for a final episode as well. He was so perfect for the part, he'll just never be replaced, period.

Sad to see that Vincent Pastore was so hung up on the past for getting passed over for the Emmy award and that’s all he could talk about when asked about James Gandolfini. It’s always sad to see when actors are salty we’re getting passed over at awards and they still talk about it years later. Nobody really cares but them!
