    John Riggins was one of a kind! There was nobody else like him, both on and off the field! Make sure to watch his weekly podcast on his youtube channel: MegaRiggins

      I will agree that Riggins was a generational (one in a generation) player and was my 2nd favorite player on the skins, Monk being my favorite.

    Joe Gibbs' winning football was give the rock to Big John 30+ times per game behind that stellar front line. I watched many a game where that simple approach just gassed defenses into submission.

      No doubt. But also didn't hurt to have MVP QB, HOF WR, greatest O Line coach, Best special teams coach / unit & greatest defensive coordinator / defense maybe of all-time. Plus best owner. But it all started w #44 & the Hogs right up the gut. Over & over again. Appreciate you watching & commenting.

    Riggins ability to evade tacklers is highly underrated

      And deceiving speed. Ran a 10.1 100 in high school which I think was state champ in Kansas in 67. 4.6 40 at 230 and 35 years old.

      @johnliberty3647 Před 6 měsíci

      Yes, just watch him pull away from Blackwood in his HOF Super Bowl run. The big old Diesel had that extra gear.

      @@johnliberty3647 white guys that big aren’t supposed to run like that at 35. Him sitting out that year at 30-31 was probably the reason. A year to heal.

    Any body who hit him hard enough to knock him down usually had trouble getting up.

    Eric Dickerson,Earl Campbell,Walter Payton and John Riggins.They were all a little different and all super human.Never see it again.If I die tomorrow,I can stand in front of the Lord and tell him I saw the greatness he blessed us with.They were unreal.

      I 100% agree, then don't forget Barry Sanders, Jerome Bettis, Emmit Smith, and Marshall Faulk and Ladainian Tomlinson. All amazing running backs. But the 80s runners paved the way for sure.

    He says riggins was 230 pounds. I’ve read as much as 245. I think he might have played lighter towards the end of his career. He looked bigger on the jets.
