Even though this is close up I love this video and angle. Unlike the tv production videos, this literally captures all the moving pieces at one time. I could be wrong on this but I also got the sense in the pitch before he stole home that you could see Wilson "doing a practice run" in his mind, in the sense if felt like he was doing the motions and getting himself ready to go on the next pitch.
@@jplewis9446 Oh look at that. I made an error and forgot to write the word, "isn't" in front of close up. I'm sorry you weren't able to decipher the what I meant from the rest of the words and context. I'll fix that for you. EDIT: Hmm, for some reason it won't let me edit the word is to isn't. Hopefully, everybody else will figure it out.
Raw video shot by fans in the stands is the best!! I wish I could have been there. All these fans in attendance may never forget they saw Kurt Wilson's great steal of home to win it for Tech over Texas.
Longhorns: Yes, police. I would like to report a theft. Dispatcher: Ok, can you describe the item that was stolen? Longhorns: ... Home plate, and a win... Dispatcher: 😳😂😂😂
Great to see good friends of ours, daughter works for the athletic department at Texas Tech! She always says she is so busy when it’s baseball season can understand why that’s a great crowd.
Texas went on to win the Big 12 in baseball the very next season, and broke a record for most titles in a season with 15 their last year in the conference 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I wonder if he made the decision himself, the 3rd base coach or if they studied the pitcher before the game and knew his tendencies. Either way smart ball 👏🏼
@@frybreadking351 I want to say that it was a heads up play by Kurt Wilson. You can see him look how far the 3rd baseman is and realizes he can take home.
Vanity cost the pitcher this game.. He's trying to play professional thinking he has a chance to get the runner at 2nd which at this level is an 95% uncertainty even under the best of game time conditions.. The only thing he should be focusing on with 2 outs in extra's is the catcher and the signals PERIOD..
The pitcher's cadence to psych himself up was too long and predictable, and Tech's coaches took advantage of it. He'll be having a long hard think about how to change that, can't help but feel sorry for him.
Did the picther just zone out and not see him running he had time to.throw, its like he just stood there!!! Wtf...wow he zoned out or just in a daze and doesnt care!!
Texas... literally... went to the College World Series that year? Texas Tech didn't even make it out of regionals, and hasn't since BAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!! Sorry you weren't smart enough to get in and sorry you wish you could be us!! 🤘😘

I think you and the world have different ideas about what "close up" really means

@@stacymirba1433 - I figured it out right away.
The runner was definitely testing the waters on the next to last pitch.
@@stacymirba1433 I red what you meant to write. My eyes autocorrected the info before sending it on to my brain without letting my asshole know.
When your pitching ritual involves completely zoning out for 3 seconds...
It's hard to understand how the coaching staff hadn't fixed that.
Is he a freshman?
This is the best comment of the clip.

I stole home during your comment.
Love seeing the 3rd base coach walk over and whisper “it’s go time” right before the pitch

I had a funny feeling about this inning, so I recorded it. Glad to show others the crazy ending to the game
That’s embarrassing!

This is fun to watch after watching the Jomboy Breakdown
I have never in my life seen someone steal home base! Whew!
That's awesome! Second video, and the best view of it, that I've watched
Great footage and editing for the lead up and finish to this fantastic moment!
This was the greatest thing I had ever seen in person
This is a great example of... expert third base coaching.
absolutely great coaching
Someone is gonna change their pitching windup.
lol yeah
Best view of the steal!!!
Thanks for sharing this view of the play.

Gotta love a game where you can steal a win. Perfect!
In his case, he literally did! Walk-off straight steal of home.
Glad to say I was at that game and proud to be a student of Texas Tech! Wreck em’👆🏼❤️
Such a great play!!!!!!!! Asleep At The Wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was slick. 🫣
Wreck 'Em, Tech !!!
Raider power! Great win. It's always very gratifying to watch the Longhorns get beat by tech. Hope they never win again in the Big 12.

That pitcher went home and poke his own eye out eat spaghetti.
He coulda walked home.
That’s called outcoached….
What makes this better is the next day the runner made a full base grand slam and won that game
classic great ending....
Nice video!!
