  • @Ted-Says - Because her mother is dying, Antonia returns to the Dutch village where she was brought up. She arrives just in time to witness the expiry - well almost, her ranting mother briefly revives, to the obvious shock of the priest and young acolyte. In the subsequent funeral mass, during which the altar boys appear to be enjoying themselves, Antonia's daughter, Danielle, imagines the corpse reviving again.
This is one of the few Dutch films to have won an Oscar, exactly which one is self-evident from the above.
This is a re-edited and remastered version of an upload from the old Ted Says channel.

Mi posso permettere di chiederti quale fra tutti è il tuo film preferito?

My all-time favourite films are: "Blow-Up" (1966), "Bedazzled" (1967), "The Go-Between" (1971) - to which you can add a lot more like "If...", "Cabaret", "Coal Miner's Daughter", "Battle Of The River Plate", etc.

I wonder if the altar boys' actions were scripted or if they were just doing their own thing.

@nelllybellly1 - I have watched an interview with the writer / director, she's not the kind of person to leave much to chance. It's a good movie, but not necessarily for fans of LOTF. BTW - you could ALTER something.
