@Ted-Says - Just what every boy wants when he is about to get a spanking from dad - an intervention from Robby the Robot, whose artificial brain won't permit any harm to be inflicted on a human being. Dad takes it all in good grace, he just has to wait until the robot's batteries are flat to ensure justice (and punishment) can be carried out. BTW, yet another boy with freckles.

Robby was designed by Robert Kinoshita, who also designed the robot in the TV series Lost in Space. Mr. Kinoshita died about 9 years ago at the age of 100, if my aging memory is functioning.

Yep, born 1914, died 2014 - a long life. "Kinoshita claimed his longevity was due to clean living and daily doses of apple cider vinegar." It is simplistic to say he designed Robby the Robot because it was a collaborative work.
