- @Ted-Says - On an old-time radio quiz show, an adult is pitted against a boy, but to the man's discomfort, the boy clearly has the knowledge. If nothing else, it gives me yet another opportunity to use "The Blue Danube".
This heavily edited (actually slashed) upload features nine-year-old Richard Hall (aka Dickie Hall) as Bobby. The first time I saw him in a film, he played piano, same the second time; according to early publicity, he began reading at the age of one, playing the piano at two, and gave his first piano concert at the age of three. He had a moderately successful screen career in the 1940s, although often in uncredited parts, and abruptly dropped off the radar before reaching his eleventh birthday, possibly to concentrate on his education (he obviously came from a good background, apparently raised by his grandfather). WARNING - to anyone wishing to research this particular Richard Hall, there are a lot of different people with the same name connected to the film industry.

I'm guessing this is the same Dickie Hall that I watched on 'Our Gang' TV reruns when I was a little boy in the '50s. Anyway, your title for this clip immediately brought to mind the incident where then Vice President Quayle changed a boy's spelling of potato by incorrectly adding an 'e' to the end.
@nelllybellly1 - Since when did American presidents (and the Vice ones) require intelligence and educational excellence as a qualification? The last one proved that. Mind you, the present one proves that vitality isn't required either. Out of more than 200 million eligible possibilities, why did the USA pick this pair?
