      Taylor Albaugh I did that in about 3 months. I actually do a 20:4 eating window and found it worked well for me. The first 2-3 weeks sucked in trying to get my body on the new schedule and not be hungry but after that it’s been easy. I normally eat Keto during my feeding window and I eat until I am full

      "16/8" was my daily regimen for awhile until that became too easy for me so now I've been effortlessly doing 19 -24 hours of water only fasting.. daily.
      And I workout and/or run in a fasted state, before any meals 💪🏾

I’m down to 183 lbs I exercise using full body routines and HIIT training , in best shape in a long long time. I’m 50 years old, energy level is great. Like Dr Jim says, I don’t have to worry about what I eat as much. It works. The 16/8 is great. Just do it. Learn about it and do it. It is a great way to keep yourself in shape. I fast when I work out so it’s perfect I have a Ton of energy in the gym and I have it worked out where I ate not too long after the gym because I go to bed so early. It’s like this are usually eat for the last time around 6 o’clock maybe 630. I wake up Drink coffee have a pre-workout go to the gym in at 10:30 I eat and that’s 16 hours. Most people eat dinner for the last time and then go to bed about three hours and if you sleep eight hours you already got 11 or 12 hours in The books. You just have to wait a couple more hours and you’re good to go. I love working out I love cardio and I love lifting weights but if you don’t want to do that it could still work for you it’s amazing been using it for years

    I am Muslim and we have this type of fasting. We don't eat or drink from sunrise to sunset. Our messenger SAW was fasting every Monday and Thursday from every week. Besides fasting the whole Ramadan month. Some people were criticizing Muslims for starving themselves and today after 1400 years Jim Stoppani proves the benefits of fasting in this way.

    Just so every one knows or was looking, fasting isn't just for weight loss / dieting. I have managed to put 4kg on in a month whilst water faster 2 / 7 days of the week. Mentally I feel so much more clarity and am able to focus without my normal prescription medication. I have also become more toned and my veins pop more etc. I try to minimize sugars, things with high amounts of sodium, preservatives and food colouring.

  • @Septicaemic
    @Septicaemic Před 4 lety +2

    I've gone through IF, it wasn't great as I would be hungry most of the time for the first month. After that month it started to get better. Mental focus? Not so sure about that, but my mood and motivation definitely improved. Weight/fat loss? Gone from 16% to 10% body fat in 2-3 months without losing weight. I trained 5 days a week, cooked/prepared meals and watched my macros on top of that.
    That's my experience with 16/8 IF. It won't hurt you unless you've got type 1 diabetes or some neurological issues.

It doesn't mean you can eat junk you still have to eat healthier foods, drink plenty of water, take your vitamins, take your protein (during your feeding window). If you train while fasting (specially doing more compound workouts/super sets ) it makes it a lot easier to lose the fat.

I usually break mine with yoghurt-honey-bananas then wait 2 hours and eat whatever😊 (a lot of 'unhealthy' goodings) then have something light and healthy at 10 (18-6= 4pm-6pm-10pm) .. 3 meals.. 😊

    Crazy thing is I had personal trainers all telling me to eat 5-6 times a day...which I didn’t never accomplished cause that’s too much food and I’ll get full af and didn’t lose weight pretty much stayed the same weight. Did intermittent fasting for one week and lost 4 lbs. I do the 16/8 which is not hard since I’m not a big breakfast person

    For me, at 56, 20:4 works best. 16:8 is too much eating time even with full body weights workout and walking on off days. I didn’t notice a change in weight with 16:8.

    I have always eaten what I want and never put on weight. I realise I do this anyway with no effort or thought.
    I wake up and have a fee coffee’s have food at eleven or twelve and then again maybe at three or five, and then again at seven or eight. Then that is it. So 11-8 eating or 12-9. Works fine for me... have a huge dinner and you don’t really get hungry for breakfast until 12 once you get used to it, coffee suppresses your appetite.

    Dear Jim, as usual, really appreciate your high quality insights into training and nutrition!Just a quick query - how does one reconcile the need for higher/frequent protein intake with IF? Use more protein shakes/BCAAs in the 8hr window? Since BCAAs will break a fast. Or simply bump up the protein on each meal? Higher protein vs IF - which in your opinion and experience is more effective in achieving and maintaining 4-6% body fat? Thanks!

    16:8 doesn’t even feel like fasting really, it’s best to aim for One Meal A Day (OMAD) or to have a much shorter window e.g. 22:2 to 20:4. And no IF doesn’t make you less efficient you just go into a calorie deficit, it actually makes your cells more efficient by autophagy
