    Be fair, all you critics: this is a very impressive exercise in home engineering. Of course it isn't practical but then how practical is any custom chopper or Manga bike? Hats off to this guy for completing an insanely difficult - and expensive - project.

      Ijusthopeitsquick Yes I agree, this guy is not about making good video but amazing project; I have seen a lot of electric bikes...this one is my preferate. If it can keep at least 60 km/h for 100 km long on one charge I would go for it and make even more people jalous in my neighborhood ;- /

      E bikes similar to this usualy get terrable range because of the weight of the batteries & the high wattage required out of the motor to pull the weight. I'm guessing it gets 20 to 30 miles per charge tops depenging on the overall weight, batteries & wattage he used. I used to ride a 500 watt electric scooter that ran on 3 batteries wired in sequence & it only got 10 to 20 miles per charge.

If you redesign/remodel it at some point, maybe consider replacing the fake v-twin with a look similar to the Brammo Empulse, be proud of the fact you've designed and built your own battery powered softail. Anyway, great work, I'm sure you've put your heart and soul into it.

    Nice "looking bike" but what are the details Please? How far will it go on a charge? how long to recharge it ? How long to build it , What motor and controller did you use
    what batteries did you use ? how fast can it go ?
    have you thought of incorporating a permanent magnet alternator on the front and back wheels to recharge the batteries at the same time as you are riding it?
    It is a shame you lost your voice on the day you have a lot of people loving the bike but needing more imput from you
    Anyway nice bike and I agree the driveway is nicely laid down Grin

    • @ralphinator2
      @ralphinator2 Před 8 lety

      +Moondyne .Joe Why put alternators on the wheels? Why not connect a big one directly to the motor? Because it would be dumb to use an electric motor and electric brake at the same time. AC regenerative motor would be the way to go.

    • @the-real-zpero
      @the-real-zpero Před 8 lety

      attaching an alternator to the wheels would be useful for regenerative braking and maybe cruising downhill.
      While the motor is working though, the alternator wouldn't recover enough energy to do much because otherwise that would violate the fundamental laws of physics.

    • @ralphinator2
      @ralphinator2 Před 8 lety

      ZPERO attaching an alternator to the wheels would be redundant, the motor itself is already attached to the wheels, and the motor can generate during braking.

    Alle Achtung.
    Das Bike sieht einfach nur cool aus.
    Schade, dass es sowas nicht zu einem erschwinglichen Preis frei zu kaufen gibt.
    Bei dem Teil wäre mir auch die Reichweite schon fast egal, solange man damit bis zur nächsten Eisdiele und zurück kommt.
    Die Geschwindigkeit spielt bei einem solchen Hobel ohnehin keine Rolle, da beim Vorbeirasen dann niemand das Bike in Fahrt bewundern kann.
    So. Und jetzt noch das Ganze mit Kennzeichen und dann eine Bauanleitung veröffentlichen.
    Gratuliere.

    Anyone who has the skills to build a bike like this can certainly put up columns and archways like the ones shown in the video, and inexpensively. Having worked as a set builder, under experts, I can now duplicated something like this with plastic pipes or sonotube, elastomeric paint, dry sand, dimensional lumber and/ or rigid foam. These can hide an H-beam, I-beam upright, or even concrete or wooden pillars. :-) I helped build and decorate an Aztec stone pyramid out of wood, plywood, spray foam, and the paint and sand. Half of it inside a horse barn, and half in an abandoned mine quarry. It's Hollywood Magic in action. Bonus: I can now finish interiors and exteriors to look like adobe/ Southwestern style buildings, etc. I just might be able to use that skill some day, hopefully soon. :-)

      I have had friends who built custom choppers, when they brought big money. Building a chopper like this is nothing more than an over grown RC car, my friends were doing some other job that bored the crap out of them so they decided to build something cool and sold them. It does not take a Kollage Degree for a man to do something cool like this, it takes the heart and the desire to build. Electric cars,planes,motorcycles are nothing more than larger versions of RC vehicles, and my bet is that most professors could not build something like this. Its not about the money its about desire to leave something cool on this planet. Kollage is a waste of time unless you desire money.

    All the ranting BS is called envy! It's an awesome bike man! Design wise and it's almost 100% enironmentally friendly! In my opinion this beats almost anything else that is out there, just by the fact he dared to make something NEW!

    your bike is great , I would like to see some more of it if you can . I like the way you have hidden the batteries behind the fake engine .

    extraordinary beautiful loking work ...i think you can make the mechanism for slamming much quieter if you flood it with grease or something. Anyways it`s very good for keeping the byke safe and harder to steal (slammed) :)

    It seems like the chap should have a golden brick to prop it up. To each his own, I'd be embarrassed to be seen on it. I'm not nearly cool enough for a bike like that.

    I am all for Electric bikes and cars but why did you make it look like an Internal combustion engine bike? Gas tank, gas engine, etc????

      I think it's a bit much to have a faked Harley Twin 'engine' like that. To each their own, though....
      the air-ride lift kit is neat,, even if it doesn't sound 'tough, just noisy and whiny. Ya works with what you got.... maybe next one he does, eh?

    • @daddion583
      @daddion583 Před 9 lety

      Chris Green its funny, cos HD have built themselves an electric bike and it doesnt fake the twin 'engine' etc. They built the engine first then built thee batteries around that (above that). Doesn't look like a cruiser style bike either, rather a naked. Check it out.
