I had one of these as a kid and i believe the weird handling is down to the handlebars/forks being at an angle facing forwards.
The fat tire and long wheel base doesn't seem help matters either.
I sold my chopper as i was outgrowing the novelty, but i sold it to the best person, a guy who was known around town for his loud motorized bikes, but he only had your usual mountain bikes.
Until snow was on the ground you could hear some small 2 stroke in the distance just begging for mercy just about every day lol

That thing is gangster! Haha I searched for electric chopper cuz I had the idea of modding mine with ape hangers cuz I'm tall and have a bad back, and shocker, it was another one of you vids. That thing's dope!! You ever put apes on a folding ebike or regular ebike? Call her Eazy-E! For Easy Rider (chopper movie), + E-bike, and one of the best OG rappers ever!

On my oc chopper build I swapped the front from a 24" to a 29"x3 on the front with the negative trail on the fork it's more stable and brings the length to 77 inches front to rear also it adds a negative rake giving us tall dudes a lean back position

The front end handles like that because there is 0 trail on the front end, if you check the contact patch of the front wheel its pretty much in a direct line from the head tube, ie, zero trail, if it had some positive or negative trail then as you ride the front wheel would get pulled straight, but as it is, it just flops around like yours does. Different forks with straight trees (OCC ones are offset) should give it some trail, its on my list of things to try.
Man, you gotta move that battery all the way up, spin it around and paint it the same red color. Then it'd look just like a gass tank. Other than that, I love that bike. You did a great job.
I'm also converting one of these into a hub motor e bike. 🤘
Doing a bit more work on her to make my build look like a miniaturized chopper (headlight, brakelight, blinkers, bags & windshield) but I like how stock you kept yours. 🤙
if you managed to get your brakes mounted and working how did you do it? The brakes are the one thing thats got my whole project grounded

David, Nice job looks clean. I have the same bought new been sitting in garage for years, very low use. can you list the disk brake components you used to upgrade with? Be a nice repurpose of a wall hanging bike to convert to eBike.

Any issues with the dropout being different size than the motor. I'm supposed to be getting a 175mm 1000w geared Bafang Hub motor, allegedly it's been held up in customs for the last month. I'm going to attempt to mounted it on a Fat Tire Bike with a 190mm dropout. I'm wondering if it's going to be a bigger issue than I think.
Could possibly be an issue aligning the rear disc brake. Normally the hub motor is to big for the bikes drop out. Theres always a way to make it work. You just gotta get creative. But then again it might fit perfectly fine.
