Daniel Sturridge was so phenomenally talented and prolific. He was frightening with Suarez, Sterling, Gerrard, Henderson and Coutinho. That was a scary set up in 13/14.
Liverpool should have won the league that year. The Chelsea game with the Gerrard slip, and the Crystal Palace draw hurt tremendously.

@LSUOdyssey The reason Liverpool let it slip against Palace after being 2-0 up was they were seriously behind on goal difference and had to make up 7 goals I think. Rogers should have played for a draw against Chelsea as Jose's team weren't really built for attack. Gerrard's slip, chasing game Aspas corner 🙄, 2-0 Chelsea. In city's hands. Then relying on teams to do favours. Last 2 games against Palace and Newcastle. Never were going to make up the goal difference that year. Rogers should have left Suarez up top on his own against Chelsea, filled midfield and played safer. Not up to standard was Brendan.

Liverpool deserved the win though. City deserved a win against Liverpool at the Etihad this season. Just doesn’t always work that way.

Not going to start getting excited until I see how we do against City. I still think City are the favourites and Liverpool 2nd due to the Klopp effect. But damn if I'm not excited and looking forward to watching the run in so have Arteta to thank for that as an Arsenal fan.
City showed against Liverpool they are not the same team under pressure .. much has been made of the underwhelming 2nd half performance by City ...for me it was glaringly obvious they just froze at the spectre of going 4 points behind Liverpool. They would be back to normal when they play us at the Etihad its upto us to make them freeze again.

Arteta is a rookie manager who didn't have that luxury with being handed an ageing squad. For context you're comparing a baby manager to icons like Pep and Klopp and I can see the fear that Arteta might match Klopp's tally of PL wins in his baby years of management. And if it is a draw? Jamie Carragher is right that it is what is in between that will define the race. It is huge for Liverpool's chances they are not in the Champions League. The actual Champions League draw for quarter finals and semi finals could be massive for the title race. You can get PSV/Dortmund = easy or Man City. And then next up Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. That could be 4 very tough games added.

This is the strongest team in years going to the Etihad. Where as City are noticeably weaker. It will be a fantastic game and if Arsenal win I think we will go all the way. For City;
We can consider the game against Arsenal then maybe Spurs will be their only tricky fixtures in their 10 matches left...

Injuries will play a big part, whoever keeps their squad fit will win it. Imagine Salah and Robertson had started, along with Trent and Konate, Alisson in goal and Diogo coming from the bench.
As a Liverpool fan I disagree as I would rather see City win vs Arsenal than Arsenal win, a draw is the perfect result but I would rather City win than Arsenal, as that helps us imo.
But I can see all 3 teams still in the race on the final day.
Could you imagine a scenario where all 3 teams at the top can all still win the title on the final day, but Spurs and Villa, and maybe United all could still get top 4 on the final day, AND, Forest, Everton and Luton all could get relegated on the final day.
As an honest Arsenal fan it’s Liverpool’s title to loose. 1) Arsenal/City will drop points next weekend whilst liv win their game going 3/4 points clear of both.
2) Arsenal last 10 games are near impossible to win all (points dropped from them will leave it to city/ Liv title race)

My end of season predictions based on the games they have all got:
Man City: 91 Points
Liverpool: 88 Points
Arsenal: 84 Points

Really? I think people see Arsenal having less of a chance than the other two.
They really dont. No pundit is predicting Liverpool will win it. Just like the start of the season. It’s always City most likely and if they don’t they predict Arsenal will. Yet with all Liverpool’s challenges to be where they are is incredible.
Today was to me the best evidence that they won't win. They were all over City but didn't really test Ederson. Massive opportunity to beat their rivals, but they just didn't have the cutting edge, and City could easily have snatched it through Doku. All season I've said City are favourites, Arsenal 2nd favourites, and that seems to be coming true.
Liverpool also imo have the easier run in. Plus over Arsenal they have been there and done it and have Salah and Van Dijk

I think Arsenal will play the game against City as a final. It is nice, they will have time mentality and tactically to prepare for the game. It is a defining moment of the season and Arsenal can definitely go there and win.
