Survival Lilly but but but... it's such a nice knife
Was just about to comment that we crashed your site xD Welp, we're effective ddos attackers lol
I am kind of happy to hear. It means you get some money.
i wanttt
How many will there bee?
That is awesome Lilly. I'm really impressed with the amount of time and effort you put into this design. I'm looking forward to using it in the field.
Love ur vids man
you are the best man!
@Norse Woodsman i just check the names u said and u 100% right specially the srk knife !!!!!!
I have an F1, the shape/profile is great for strength and prying, so that's not a bad thing. The only issue i find with F1 is the Laminated steel chips out if accidentally hit against stone. Lilly's knife edge looks less brittle, so it might roll but that is easily resolved
At a certain point you could apply that argument to any knife. She's made a knife, why are you trying to take that away from her? How many knives have you made and taken to market? One less than her I suspect.
Lilly saw that I accidentally did a double order and quickly fixed the order once she contacted me to be sure I did not order 2 knives on purpose. Outstanding customer service!!!!!!! She is an honest, and trustable internet merchant!!!! LOVE THE KNIFE!!!!!!! She included a suvivral Lilly patch, love rhat!! Very happy with my order!!!!
I was able to order yesterday, but had lots of trouble with the web site accepting one of my cards, so apparently I did an accidental double order. I just received an email from Lilly where she noticed the accidental double order and wanted to make sure it was corrected. Impressive customer service! Looking forward to receiving her great knife!
In principal a good knife. However, for me, you did what everyone else does. You left out something that really belongs on a bushcraft knife. There is no handhold for bow drill in the handle. From you, I really did expect that. I would actually like to know your reason for leaving that out.😭
Well, you may want try asking her more direct than this post from someone else, though, simply put, that is your opinion, about what belongs on a knife, not everyone is the same as you , thank goodness.
Herbert Bentele Has
You probably should have kept both eh?
Bow drills are for real emergencies only. Why weaken the knife and ruin it with a divot that will wear out and is not really necessary. Using ferro rod is easier especially if you're not strong (like me). I have already attached an emergency ferro rod in a hidden place on the sheath. Easily done and with all the sheath holes and spaces there is plenty of room for custom mods.
I really like the size of this knife, its not too big, something I would actually carry on a belt sheath, love the transparency with crash testing your own gear. Very honest
Canadian Prepper you going to add it to your shop?
@CanadianPrepper, hey neighbor! hope to see a field test by you! or me if i get mine b4 you!
This knife design is so much better than all of Chris Tanner's designs from Prepperedmind 101 hahahahahaha OMG!!
ITS A COPY OF ANOTHER JUNK KNIFE!!!
Ill be ordering one asap. Yay my fav survival channel made it's own blade. Feels oddly sentimental. I remember finding your channel through a video of you building a primitive shelter. Congratulations!
I'm gonna order it just to support. You done where your from and other countries. Put alot of effort in you vids. Deserves the support!!
Lilly! Great job! I love the R&D effort you've put in this project. *standing ovation*
Nice knife. Whole lot of thought went into that tool. Watched this with my daughters. It’s nice for them to have another example of a young female entrepreneur.
I like it. No gimmicks, just a simple knife - but carbon steel screws? That is crazy. You will get lots of rust on the tang of this knife under the scales.
Ikr? Myself I'd prefer a carbon steel blade so it also can be used to throw sparks and then the screws would make sense. But with a SS blade and carbon screws? I just don't understand that choice at all.
You're both right - the mix of metals will readily corrode the carbon. The blade also suffered very heavy pitting corrosion from her salt water test. Wrong grade of SS if your using anywhere near the sea.
The screws are cheap to supply and require no skill to fit ......unlike rivets....but i guess that's the sacrifice you pay for "Made in Taiwan". Notwithstanding the OTT sale price!
Ancient Mariner scores can be removed and replaced, unlike rivets. spend 50 cents on stainless screws for fksake
@@gulfrelay2249 Why would you pay this much for a knife if you had to then replace parts to make it a good knife? You would be better off just buying a good knife to begin with
If I were to buy the knife (sold out) I would replace the scales with hardwood scales anyway, so replacing the screws would not be much more of a hassle
I know this particular video is over two years old, but I just wanted to comment that I just received my beautiful APO1S!
Love it! It’s more than I imagined.
Excellent functional tool.
Thank you for sharing your dream with us and making it come true.
Danke. God bless you and your family👍💞
That's a great knife! Congratulations, Lilly! Going through all of the various reviews, tests, and revisions required to design a knife is time consuming and hard work, so I respect what you have accomplished. I really like the quality features that you've included. Congrats!
For US residents because the value is under $800 it should be able to come in Duty free. However I don't know the local state laws around importation of transfer of Knives so please check your local laws. But there should be no Customs Duties associated with the knife into the U.S.
Your website had an apocalyptic event! 😂 How appropriate for APO 1.
Lilly, Lilly, Lilly I’m from the Ozark mountains in Missouri and I’ve been building shelters in the woods for years, wish we could hang out in the woods and build a shelter. Great job !!!
Congratulations Lilly !!
Keep rocking it !! ❤️👍
Congrats, Lilly. Reasonably priced too👍
Love ur vids man, did u move yet ?
Which brings me to another topic. Why aren't you "CZcams verified" yet. Where is that check mark next to your name.
Joe, will you be getting one to test and review? Any problem having this knife in Canada?
Joe Robinet come on Joe you are better than that just another commercialised so called bush crafter
Lilly I just recieved your knife. I am so impressed. It is perfect.Thank you so much.
Congratulations Lily. I’ve been watching your channel for a few years now, and I know how long and how hard you’ve worked to achieve the success that you now enjoy. Congratulations on another victory, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Fantastic work Lilly! Congratulations!!
So if I wanted to test one on my channel and give an honest opinion is there a way to contact you other than CZcams?
hello yes you can send me an email to survivallilly@mailbox.org
There is a USA made knife which fulfills all your requirements: the Benchmade Arvensis. It’s made of 154 CM, which is a better stainless steel. It costs about $175.00.
except it is total different
Nope, false edge, and gimping on the pummel.
The Arvensis does not have a “false edge.” The top of the blade is not sharpened; it is flat.
Bro, that's what a false edge is, it's called a swedge too.
And yes, the Arvensis has a false edge.
In Germany: 247 €, that is about 284 $ (that is a special offer, normaly it will cost 275 €)
Your talent is endless. Great job!
OH YEAH! Came back a little later, got through, and got one! Can't wait to try that little beastie out!
Got my Knife yesterday, IT IS AWESOME!!!!!!! Thank You Lilly!
Her knife history sounds like my dating history.
Congrats!! You rock! Great job Lilly.
I love these videos - they are honest and very educational - I am the fussiest person on the planet when it comes to outdoor knifes but this time, after watching this truly honest and factual video, I've been sold and ordered one - looking forward to its arrival. Thanks Lilly
Congratulations Lilly !! I want one ! You have thousands of Canadian fans, perhaps an arrangement between you and Canadian Prepper to be your Canadian distributor / affiliate would facilitate many more sales than shipping from Austria. In addition, might help both your sales if you and CP did a cross promotion of the Bugout Roll and Apo-1 ! I'm not sure if Canada Customs will add a cost to Canadian sales of the APO-1 ... but I'm sure you can get around that by making Canadian Prepper your official Canadian office/affiliate or licensed distributor. I am a retired Toronto lawyer, and I would be more than happy to volunteer my services and give you a working contract (that you could amend or fine-tune to your business needs). I'm happy to provide this draft and any unofficial advice you need, for free as a gift to help you and Canadian Prepper's sales. And no I don't know CP, though I've been a fan of you both since your channels started.Anyway, good luck, I know this knife will 'cut down' poor quality competitors, ha. It seems a lot of quality field research went into your final product. Very impressive ... go, Lilly go !
Congratulations Lilly, Looks like a well thought out, functional and very good looking knife!
Mike your alive yay, now get a Video up
Holy toledo. I have to say such a high compliment from MCQBushcraft is truly impressive. I really love Mike's knife design, but it's a bit of an Aston Martin - breathtakingly beautiful, a functional work of art! Perfect for its job, but sadly too rich for my wallet. I'm afraid I have to go with the Glock design ethos here. Brutal practicality. Plus, I can afford it.
-go with the Glock design ethos here.- Kind of funny. Amazing that Lily gets to build her own knife. Everything seems pretty practice. Even the little dips on top of the blade. It's a tactile kind of thing that keeps you aware of what your doing.
You always do such a great job on all videos... thank you so much.
Just got my Knife from Lilly and it is FANTASTIC!!!!!! I like everything she considered while designing the knife and the grip fits m hand PERFECTLY!!! I could not be happier!!!!
Ah, Corporals Corner just reviewed this knife! Didn't know it was yours!
Found this knife via corporals corner! So glad i did 😸
Looks like a great knife Lilly. It was good to see the testing process with the different prototypes. You obviously put a lot of care into this. - Bryan
Thanks Bryan I appreciate your comment!
Balance and rotation testing?
Congratulations Lilly! Very nice looking knife! Well done.
You’re welcome. I really appreciate your gratitude. Such a thoughtful person.
great looking knife.send one to the boys at DBK
paul littler I wonder how they would react to it being AUS-8. They said they would never recommend a knife in AUS-8.
that would make it interesting
The first thing they would say is : Shit steel... LOL
@@paullittler2451 And they have. Verdict? Bad knife. Supposedly Lilly ranted on their page, and quickly deleted her message when it became too hot to handle.
watched the review a few days ago if i remember i think they said it was an ok knife for the price but could be a good knife if the steel was upgraded.
Looks awesome, congratulations!
Just placed my order Lilly. Thank you for designing such a beauty.
Hi Lilly, I received my APO-1, and stove the other day! I am so impressed with this knife, the quality, balance, strength and looks are truly outstanding. Thank you for the fast shipment from Austria to NY, USA (4 days). So impressed!
"Out of Stock". That didn't take long! Time for another run.
It's a very good-looking knife and a very good design that makes a lot of sense.
That is a great looking knife! I love the stout tip, and the sheath is very nice. I bet that they will fly off the shelves. Way to go Lilly!
The steel used is produced in Japan and exported to Taiwan. The carbon steel screws can easily be protected by putting a little beeswax on them which will keep any moisture out. In any event, they can be removed and replaced with stainless or brass/ bronze screws if your knife is going to get wet often. I like the APO-1 blade because although it's hard it isn't too hard to make sharpening a chore. Having used knives for over 50 years, this one seems well thought out, well designed, maybe just a little expensive, but treated right will last for years and years. Might have been good to have a sharpening stone in a compartment with the sheath, but maybe that is going to make it too bulky for many people. ....and that maniac Joerge Sprav recommends it on his channel and that's good enough for me! Nice one Lilly!
Awesome knife Lilly. You put a lot into it and you should be very proud. If you ever do a redesign maybe you should consider adding a finger choil for more controllable close up work. I love that thick point.
She did a little work to redesign a SRK or A1 in lesser material.
Paused the video seconds after starting it to order the knife. After watching the video was not disappointed. I enjoy your videos in general, liked your explanations of how you developed your APO-1. I recall in Mora testing you used Kansbol and Garberg with a bow drill for fire starting. Am curious what your thought process was for shaping the lanyard hole on your APO-1 knife. All in all appears like a great utility knife to carry in general. Keep up the good work with your videos.
Awesome! Congratulations!
Congratulations on your new endeavor, Lilly. I wish you the utmost success.
AUS8, isn't that one of the ingredients of play doh?
Yeah, she complains about VG10 and then uses Aus 8.
@@Justanotherandy63 because from VG10 there would be very little profit on it :D this is basically donate product
Missed opportunity you could have

outstanding idea...i hope she reads this comment.
Hah, that's pretty good.
I feel bad for anyone who missed the opportunity with you
Totally get it. I did the same with what became the AJ Karacal. My “end of the world” knife. I like your functional thinking - handle ergonomics, suitable for use with gloves and for chopping, also the ratio of length to depth, the fingerguard. Nice.
Good for you! Well done and you didn't pull any punches on the testing, very nice.
SRK Inspired
Drtyboxer 1 that’s what I was thinking too.
Indeed. Even the sheath looks like a SRK copy...
I was thinking almost mora style blade with a bark river bravo handle with some tweaks
It is indeed a SRK knockoff 🤨
SchoolofSurvival2B same exact sheath as well. She always said her SRK was her favorite. Future cold steel exclusive ? 🤔
Awesome! I love the knife! CONGRATULATIONS! 😍
Hell yeah Lilly! Very happy for you!
Congratulations Lilly, I'm very happy for you that you have your very own product that you've designed, tested and now selling (although I wish you had of talked about the sheath too). Well done!
The AUS8 steel is my favourite. Will wait for the website to get back up again!

@@lyman135 Yes. My first-ever knife was made from it, and I have good experiences with that knife when out pig-hunting with the dogs in the deep bush here in New Zealand. I have nothing but good experiences with the toughness of it.
You have poor taste
@@GuyInAHotdogSuit69 I'm not going to bother with the unnecessary riposte that usually happens in these discussions. As it usually ends up in useless testosterone battles. You have your opinion, I have mine. If you prefer others, that's cool! Which one do you like?
Man I was so ready to buy 2 of them until AUS8 was mentioned. That knife is awesome though. Great job. I’m a steel snob so take it for what’s its worth. If the steel changes in a run I’ll get a couple.
RANDOM VIDEOS you are on CZcams look up blade steel videos. People test them
Congratulations Lilly. I look forward to getting one. Be well.
Miss Lilly, it is now 12/21/2019 and I just today recieved my APO-1!!!!!!! I’m really excited to carry and use it! I’ve watched all your videos and I know you’ve put a lot of thought and effort in the making of this knife! I agree it feels good in hand and I’m looking forward to put it to good use. Thank you and I’ll report back later after I’ve had the chance to use it! Take care and becarful out there!! I’m saying this from Arkansas in the US. God bless
I want one of your knives! I think we crashed your website! LOL
Wow Lilly! I have to admit that I've been eagerly waiting to see you stress test your knife! But on top of that, the fact that you've been using it for your Africa trip brings me a lot of satisfaction. Also thanks for showing us the evolution of your design, your attention to the details really does give me confidence in it. The fact that your site can't keep up with the demand shows me that others agree with me.
Congratulations Lilly! This will be a great contribution to the prepper community!
Very nice Lilly. Good for you. Thanks for sharing🌹
Nicely done. I'm sure you are very proud of your work.
Really big CONGRATS on YOUR knife, it's beautiful n well thought out. So great to see Women doing things on their OWN terms. AWESOME! Btw, sabre is the BEST all purpose grind choice, so smart.
Looks awesome, nice job.
Does is have 90 degrees spine for firesteel? And I would like an custome sheath with firesteel place.
Just came across this video. Your field testing them on video just got you another sale. I look forward to purchasing 5 of them for my families bug out bags.
Congrats Lilly. Its looks great and i'm sure it functions fantastically. Cant wait to use it myself.
I like it! I’d love to see it on Amazon Prime in the USA.
Nice!
Congrats Lilly I'm happy for you. It's a great looking knife I can't wait to get mine!
i picked up my APO-1 from the post office today. i cannot be happier! this knife is a beast! very sharp out of the packaging the sheath is very sturdy. danke sehr!
Great knife ,but if I spent that amount of money on a knife the s.h.t.f. would happen immediately lol
I like the velcro and snap combo on the belt loops.
Rick Ramirez need to be larger,3" for pistol belt
Good for you. Looks awesome
Great job! How exciting! Looks like you spend a lot of time thinking the design through.
Congrats well done on the APO 1. I like the handle loads of room on it.
I like it. No gimmicks, just a straight forward field knife.
Very nice knife Lilly! As a former U.S. Army man, I carry two knives. First is my "pocket knife" which is great for gutting and skinning game, descaling fish, and a general purpose knife. The second is mine from the Army, which is my KA-BAR knife, pronounced "kay - bar". I trust you know it's uses and capabilities. I wish to look into this knife you have presented. It looks very utilitarian, and if so, maybe I can use this one for both. Thanks Lilly. You're a treasure of information!
Great job, Lilly. I paid $120 for a Dawson fixed blade in 1990. It now costs over $400. Yours looks to be very well worth the same value.
@Survival Lilly you should have produced a few had your signature on them and sell them out at a good profit
$128US for an AUS8 knife made in Taiwan is not a product I would buy. I wish you the best of luck on selling them though.
Like with Cold Steels, the Aus 8 in thicker Billets get's tempered to different HRC than the 1\8 thick Aus8A stock.I bet this just under 5mm thick would be much better blade than the 1\8 stock most are accustomed.1095 and Aus8A when thicker ,are very similar.Wants to sharpen easily.Russian and German smiths use the thicker Aus8 billets much and they make great knives.I bet these are nice.Want to go Spend $300 for BOHLER DNH7 and go baton camp wood with it? I have a Citadel Vannak 3 all polished up I tote when in nice clothes,so mirrored I hate to beat it up while these could truly use without crying lol...The Aus8A your thinking of is not 4.8mm,would be more than she asks with those scales and secure-ex.

Looks good! Congratulations on your new knife!
Looks like you have a winner - Congratulations. It's going to be a long two months!
I like stainless steel, but where is the bow drill divot and the ferro rod. I saw what you did to the fallkniven knife with a bow drill.....
Very good point she ragged on it pritty hard about that and it wasn't even a bow drill divot it was a lanyard hole
Whined about vg10 not being good enough steel...puts aus-8 on her knife
trevor christian yeah she was using it to pry shells off rocks and then said it chippy
dude in the video she said that it wasnt meant to be used as a bow drill and that it was her fault so what are you complaining about? as for vg-10 steel it chips easier than aus-8 so idk what argument you have either. this looks like a solid knife to me the only downfall is the handle screws should be a more rust-proof material like stainless rather than coated steel.
Dragon800 the whole thing about the divot seemed to detract from the knife for no reason she acted like she really wanted it to be one then didn't put a divot on her own knife. Aus8 wont chip as much as vg10 but any steel will chip prying things off rock. Aus8 seems to be regarded as a shit steel by most especially at that price point. The screws thing is just plain dumb in a stainless knife
I dont know much about knives but that looks amazing.
Thank you Lilly for all your efforts in producing a great survival knife, I wish you the very best in your new endeavors and look forward to updates from your customers.
Lilly! you nailed it! That design is fantastic!
Wow! The thickness of this blade is unreal! Baton like a beast! I love it Lilly! As well, the grind and the tip are perfect for wilderness tasks. Love the micarta scale and grip, and the pommel/lanyard is probably going to be a huge selling point. I will check to see if I can get one under NZ law.
I'm no lawyer, but it should be okay. It doesn't have features that make it an illegal offensive weapon. IE there's no false edge and it's a fixed blade. AFAIK outside of the immediately illegal stuff, the laws mostly relate to carrying: Anything bigger than a small folding 5cm blade knife and you need a reason and anything is a weapon if presented as such. I've imported a knife - customs opened it, but let it through. Ymmv.
Apologies: the term is "Prohibited offensive weapons"
*Congratulations on designing a clone of a mass produced and well known knife. LMAO! Cold Steel SRK with a lanyard hole similar to Survive Knives GSO*
Grizzly Country, and whats your problem with that?? Loads of clones of the R.M. Woodlore - Loads of clones of the Skookum bush tool, are you going to start whingeing about those too?
Lillys knife is an uprated SRK and better for it.
Pathetic comment.
Nice one! Well done!
I love it Lilly! Really nice
Taiwanese AUS8 is among the best AUS8, assuming it's the from the factory I know (I'm Taiwanese) that made the Cold Steel knives it should be very very good.
Beast of the Far East imitation the sincerest form of flattery. it's an ARK. good move re scales. can we expect one in carbon?
gdfkngutoob SRK
I have been impressed with the Cold Steel AUS8 in my Finn Wolf. Its not the best performer at any one thing, but it is acceptable in most tasks. It's easy to sharpen like carbon steel as well.
@dutchbushcraftknives maybe test? :DD
I emailed them about it... The first thing I predict they would say is: Shit steel. LOL
Great looking knife, Lily. Nice work.
Got my knife this morning and I have to say first impressions are excellent - It looks as tough and sharp as anything I've ever handled as is the sheath. Its also looks excellent value for money as the quality is up with, if not better than, some I've owned at three times the price so well done Lilly.
You will need a carbon steel version for some of us :)
Definitely
O1, and 5160 are some good options.
Jep's Outdoor Adventures totally agree, 5160 is one of my favourite steels, doesn't rust so fast, hold a good edge, easy to sharpen and very though.
I like regular carbon steel myself. Keep it maintained and you don't need stainless. I make homemade knives out of steel from the really old 2 man tree saw blades and I use deer antler for handles and brass for butt plates and finger guards. they usually turn out nice but most ppl that i have given one to complain that it rusts easy. Its like duh take care of it! I do use oil when I temper the blade which helps resist rust but you need to oil them occasionally. can even use crisco to keep the blade food friendly.
@@Trumplican Yes, just using your knives often keeps them from getting rusty :)
Was just about to order when I noticed it's AUS-8. I can get a comparable knife at Walmart for half the price.
We do not have Walmart in Austria nor here in Switzerland and we don't live in the US eighter :)
I like the design and her reasons for using aus8 but I would have gone with 1095 coated steel. An old standby. I have a Modified Ontario navy pilot knife that is coated. That works wonders, is US made and cost 50$.
I just bought my first APO 1S from the Canadian Preparedness website. Can't wait until it arrives! I love your show and keep up the amazing work. Thank you.
Mine arrived last week, it’s as good as they get, some wonderful comments on Facebook about it too. Not just about the high standard and quality of it, but also about the thought and prototypes gone into it, so does it rate with previously well established knives. Well done Lilly, a real success with this one, I just need a few free days for myself to really test it out in the field, but I already feel completely confident taking it with me.
