  • Join us for our Erev Shabbat service We will be going through the weekly teachings from Monte Judah. As we begin the Book of Exodus, we are reminded of those who went down to Egypt with Jacob and the miracle birth of Moses. Because of the growing number of Hebrews in Egypt over the years, Pharoah gives the order for all male Hebrew babies to be killed at birth and enslaves the Hebrews. Because of this threat to Hebrew male children, when Moses was born, he was hidden in a basket and floated down the Nile river, where the Pharaoh's daughter found him. Raised in Pharaoh's house, Moses was able to understand the workings of both the Egyptians and the Hebrew people. When Moses grew to manhood, he fled Egypt because he had killed an Egyptian who was harming a Hebrew. Moses settled in the land of Midian, married Jethro's daughter, and tended sheep for his father-in-law. During this time, Moses experienced God in a very powerful and personal way at the burning bush on Mount Sinai. God then dispatched Moses and Aaron back to Egypt to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt, but Pharaoh refused to let them go and even intensified the suffering of Israel. When Moses asked God about this, God promised that the redemption of the Hebrew people was close at hand. The dialogue between God and Moses here is very telling, explaining God's plan for us all.

Thank you for going through and explaining the respect for Hashem's name and the proper use of it. Many of our brothers and sisters (or those who claim to be) view respecting Hashem's name as complete and utter tradition. That it has no use and does not need to be done. In my eyes, those who do not show respect and honor to HIS name also do not fear HIM.

Where is the second or third witness of the story of Yochebed being approx. 350 yrs old when Moshe was born? That is a Kabbalist teaching and should be shared with a " It could be.." instead of an " It is..."
Surely, the most miraculous of all births would have been explained and witnessd in Torah...at least once ;)

If we are the ;new creation no greek or jew etc why do you still do the readings that Nehemiah wrote about Ezra using but he did full days and not just your daily readings and how did the new testament get to be part of all this. WHY NOT JUST READ THE WHOLE BIBLE

No where in scripture does Elohim say not to say His Name...on the contrary He says to call upon His name many times. I believe it is a man-made tradition not to say His name and replace what scripture says. It is better to please Elohim than worry about how man will respond when you say it.
