    The close up of the chamfer step at the end was sick. Nice video 🤙🏻

      Thanks! I am hoping to make some more videos of the cnc mill and cnc lathe as I go.

    Wow that dynamic pocket tool path sounded really nice! Is this a stepper machine? I just picked up a used pcnc1100 series 3 I hope it cuts this nice.

    Awesome. I have a Tormach 1100 myself. Trying to find some mill work.

    I like this video a lot, well done man!! No fluff or BS, just doing some work. The setup is great, did you ever setup to do 2 or 3 parts at a time in there? Seems like two vises might fit and you could reduce the number of tool changes by half?

    • @WintersMachining
      @WintersMachining  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Thanks man! Yes I actually sold this mill and bought a Syil X7. I plan on using 2 vices at a time.

      How did you go about finding work? Are your customers all local? Were these contacts you had prior to buying the mill?
      Many of my local shops it's damn near impossible to get in front of anyone of importance. Online contact has basically been a waste.
      I've gotten a few small jobs here and but steady repeat business has been rough to come by.
      Post something like this with the X7.. that thing looks like a phenomenal value if half the marketing is true. 😆

    Thank you for the video. Do you think that the extra working area of the 1100mx is not necessary for the jobs you do?

    • @WintersMachining
      @WintersMachining  Před 10 měsíci

      I wanted the 10k rom vs 7k I think it was at the time. I've since sold it and moved into a nice Syil X7

      I was just thinking about commenting you should upgrade machines to something like that. How do you like it so far?@@WintersMachining

    hi in the video you don't use the tool change button, do you use a pedal? and which CAM system is most convenient?

    • @WintersMachining
      @WintersMachining  Před 3 měsíci

      I added a pneumatic pedal from amazon and use my foot. I prefer Fusion 360 for all of my post processing.

    Have you thought about the ATC or building your own?

    • @WintersMachining
      @WintersMachining  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes I didn't want one but I didn't want to pay the $ for their design. I ended up selling this machine and replacing it with a Syil X7

    Is the coolant why your paint has worn off of he machine?

    • @WintersMachining
      @WintersMachining  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes it was paint and not powder coating like most manufacturers use. My lathe has powder coating and has held up great.

      Tech schools or just buy one and learn as I go?

    I would probably change your tool path, about 50% of the time you are cutting air in the hand full of clips I fast forwarded through. Just a thought.

  • @arsehole420
    @arsehole420 Před 7 měsíci +1

    you need a 5" facemill

    • @WintersMachining
      @WintersMachining  Před 3 měsíci

      I sold this and got a much more rigid and powerful SYIL X7

  • @thinker4life482
    @thinker4life482 Před rokem +2

    Sounds like a drill press cutting sidways! Not a rigid mill at all!

    • @thunderthormx
      @thunderthormx Před 10 měsíci +1

      Those insert cutters are loud in any machine

    • @WintersMachining
      @WintersMachining  Před 10 měsíci +1

      It's because of the insert mill. A solid endmill is much quieter, although this machine isn't very rigid by industry standards. I recently bought a larger, more stout Syil X7.
