I don't know why the polar is more popular. Everytime I look at the black dial it gives me butterflies. I got the chance to choose the polar or the black dial last time, and got home with the black. I dont care if its resell 1k more on gray market, I wan't to wear my watch not flip it. Everytime I wear this watch, its honeymoon period all over again.
Fully agreed
the most underrated model ... love it
i have a same model. love it.
This is one of my most favorite Rolex watches.
Just got one! Going to go slap a few bears and get some crazy footage
@@WatchUnwindhuh?
Another difference, the 216570 has a matte black dial while the 226570 has a gloss black dial.
Hello Tim. Please can you do a review like this but for the white dial? Thank you!
Have you noticed that some of the 226570 have really thick font, nearly bold font, on the bezel, while some are super thin font like the one in your video?
Love this model
Very nice watch. I bought the Explorer II myself last october...but I did prefer and purchased the Polar Dial.
Would like to see you review the white dial 226570 please
white dial is for losers
Nice watch. Shame people who want one can’t actually go into a Rolex Authorized Dealer and just buy one. You know, like just about every other thing on the Earth that’s for sale.
There is so many other things you can’t just walk in and buy…one thing for sure don’t ever pay over than retail..flippers are out..most watch on the market only trades between gray market dealers..watches getting more available lately
Love it
Received a call for this exact piece a month ago.. didn't grab because I was using the money in the stock market... definitely a beauty And regret but buying it some having the chance at retail 😢
on this last iteration, the black dial is glossy, lacquered one.
So many reports on the forums abou the 32xx movement developing sudden timing problems. Any comment on that Tim?
It’s not a Tudor …
My dream watch 😢
216570 is way more actractve.
Not “caving” to the pressure to use a ceramic bezel…give me a break. Every other steel Rolex sports watch uses a ceramic bezel. Why shouldn’t this one?
Take your finest china caving with you. See how much survives.
Rolex doesn’t make its own hands I hear.
13400 lol, too much Tim
All of their watches are way overpriced for used pieces.
Sigh - one day.
Trust me. You get it, and 5 days later you want something different. You’re never satisfied.
@@poopy_fingers3324 lol it’s a sickness
It the last really toolish looking watch Rolex makes. Especially with the black dial. I wonder if at some point it won't be.
When it comes to fine imitation watches, gussl delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
The new sub I quite like, but the old 40mm exp2 is so much nicer than this. There's a strange cartoon quality about this.
I do wish you would stop alluding to the fact that 904L steel is a proprietary Rolex steel, it is not.
And you are…?
He may have in the past, I didn't get that from this video. I think the context he uses it in is that Rolex makes their own steel. They may not have invented 904L but they're making their own steel in their own foundry, therefore its _their_ own steel. If a person was not aware of the foundry and all of that, I could see them mistaking it but he mention how its made here. Just my take.
@@VibrantMango LOL
Tim never said that, since the Watchuwant days he always mentions 904L steel Bombfrog watches, etc.
@@NefvilleThe way he framed the comment does give the impression that 904L is a proprietary Rolex steel. Just more Rolex marketing BS, up their with we invented the water proof watch and automatic winding.
Black Bay Pro homage 😂 these are going for almost retail on the grey market now.
Too large
The white dial is more beautiful
I prefer the black.
@@mkyhou1160 Me too.
Preference tbh
@@JohnDoe-vt6zm true - I think best opinion I have seen is “the white is best for a collection, the black is best for a one and done”.
The new black is more dressier as the dial is jet black (same as new sub) and polished white gold markers and hands. The white dial is completely matte.
