The Japanese have a very special gift of making dumb-shit really really cool and desirable. It's called having fun.
Yea they do... and I love it
hey, man - respect the van
Nevadan here, I love letting the rear end out on the old HIGHTOP 318 family van.
Everyone in America is so worried about JDM, but the Japanese are racing big American vans. Hahaha
Not many people are all about jdm. I guess I'm not in the usa im in Vancouver and although there is lots of imports like civics integras 240's 350's and all sorts of other nissans Toyotas subarus amd Mazdas and there is a few dealers that have a bunch imported they aren't cars u see a lot of driving around. Even when I go to meets if there is less then 1 out of every 10 cars that is rhd. There is prob actually just as many people who have lhd cars with conversions on the front and rear bumpers lights and sometimes seats or whole interiors so it looks like a car that came from Japan but still lhd. Only thing I think that is good about imports like that is that u can sometimes get cars we never had like r32-r34's and the strange fact that lots of the cars even tho 20 years old will have less km then a car that is only 2 or 3 years old. Plus they are a lot cheaper other then the skylines and a few other cars.
Most jdm fanboys are cancer
^ the most mature comment here...... SMH
They love a bunch of big American cars
FORD leaves from Japanese Market. Sad.
Automotive subculture in Japan never ceases to amaze me. Just when you think you've seen it all...
In Japan, they drift anything with wheels lol.
Can they drift a unicycle
Really creative motorheads, gotta love it.
lol tge Japanese vip cars are A#1
+Iron Chief な
I'm fairly certain that Watanabe wheels look good on everything.
American do import R32 GT-Rs from Japan.
Japanese do import Dodge vans from USA.
O_o
Some are imported others are surplus U.S. military personnel movers.
how much do they pay for a good specimen ?
I have a 1998 V8 Badass van if someone is interested accorsistudios@gmail.com

If these builds start appearing in the States, we'll officially have reached the point where Japan is spoon-feeding us our own car culture.
That said, these actually look really cool.
Didn't America have boogie vans that were fast ?
I bought one and currently building one lol there's a few guys that have them here in the states.
really? so the muscle car era is being fed to us by spoons??? and Holly, Edelbrock, K&N, etc. are all japanese? oh, and the pick up trucks, too? F150s, RAM1500, Silverados, Colorados, etc. all came from the Tacomas & Tundras??? ok....
We were the first to do fast vans.
1960's and 1970's. They were called muscle vans. We did it first bro.
you can tell they still have the 318 v8......because of the exhaust leaks.
Lol
No, that's because of the headers.
Snark, snark, snark!
Can confirm, I have a 318 in a jeep. The exhaust leeks at catalytic and muffler. Good motor though, if its been taken care of.
Love my 318
mine doesnt leak at all.
Growing up, my grandfather had a Ram Van just like these. It was a short-wheelbase cargo model, so it had no side glass other than the doors. I always loved that van. Years ago, when I found out that they mod and race them in Japan, that flame was reignited. They're just so cool in that spec! Ever since, a Dajiban has been high on my list of dream builds.
Thanks for bringing us along, Alexi!
This video has exploded in the U.S.! JDM tax on Ram Vans in 3... 2... 1...
that super cool man, hope you can build one
Albert Tufillaro Thanks! I appreciate that. One day, I hope.
Bravado Youga one my fav cars in GTA, it's got all kinds of mods you can buy!
So this is why my packages are always fucked up by the time they reach my doorstep.
This is so bizarre to watch, the van scene in the us is completely dead and I had no idea it existed like this in Japan, with american cars
@Nyxtroos with the exception of the Chevy/GMC models, modern full size vans all look like kitchen appliances.
ive known about these in Japan for awhile. it's really cool to see something like this which was only intended for work use racing and drifting. also explains why I don't see these in America anymore. all the decent condition ones are in Japan now!
This is one of the coolest things i ever seen!, I really like seeing their love for racing even in a big van. I would love to go to Japan one day. Props from America for making slow vans fast and fun!
Alex! The brand spectre is an American brand, it's a brand found in walmarts and autozones! Haha
Got them in Australia too, used to sell them at an auto place i used to work at .
lol so rice
So Hotdog*
Ok I want Hotdog to catch on so badly.
Look at all these hotdoggers in their Dajibans.
This the reason I love japan so much, they are creative with thier motorsport ideas and they make it so fun lol! Who ever thought about vans doing laps and drifts lol, love japan swag! Keep the good videos coming, much respect to u to ur hard work;from the states,Yankees!
I would of never thought in a million years lol! this is awesome go Mopar!
Dajiban kinda sounds like dodge van. Greats vids
You know I completely forgot to mention that. Dajiban = Dodge van in Japanese.
It's actually an entire segment of Japanese language that is dedicated to spelling English words the way the Japanese pronounce things.
It's one of the best things in all the world.
Yeap, great fun!
Kenny Man It's basically them speaking Romanji, I think
It’s called japnanglish ダジバン is dajiban in katakana
Been a long time since I heard a 318 roar that loudly. Makes me want my Fifth Avenue back.
As a fellow Aussie can't say how much I love this channel man, good job Alexi 🏁👌☠
You can hardly give these things away here in the states
cheap full size vans where and i be right there.
Craigslist
I'll take three.
there's one just parked in a Dude's backyard around here, will take any offer lol
True that! Most of the ones I see have been used and abused. A few are held together with bailing wire and rust.
Who would have thought lowering and smaller wheels would turn a molester van into a retro cool rebel?
ikk, i love these rwd magnum powered vans. but a 'free candy' sign on the side would be hilarious :p
SPECTRE is just a autozone brand. But to the Japanese it's actually an imported part lmao!
This is awesome !!!! I love my Dodge Ram Van.
Now I'm looking for a RWD V8 dodge van on Craigslist lol, fug
Prisoner Alex luckily they're dirt cheap.
The ones you're gonna find in the US are all beaten to hell and are rusting so bad it looks like Thanos snapped at them.
My grandma had one growing up, I loved it, I bought a 1990 b150
I’ve watched this video alot
@@Ben.N Yeah for one with frame rot. Took 2 years looking daily to find my 98 B3500 Maxi for sub 2k with a frame that was still mostly intact.
So great to see unique content like this! Keep it coming! Much love from Canada.
when you wanna go drifting at 8 but you got a plumbing repair appointment at 9
lol the autozone spec air filters
Thank you for posting these beautiful dodge van their my favorite.
Yay! New video, finally! Great to see more action again! Hope to see more uploads often Noriyaro!
This was awesome. Such a cool event. Keep up the good work.
huh. no wonder I don't see a lot of these in the states, their all in japan
Post more frquently noriyaro love your vids man cant get enough of them
Noriyaro you do the best in bringing the footage home thank you for what you do love your videos!
This is so cool! I haven't seen anything like this in Okinawa though.
HOLY YOURE BACK. FINALLY!
I own one of these Van's, they are awesome!!! Glad to see others love these Van's 😀👍👍
Back with another video after some quiet months! Good as always.
I think I need one now... Damn you Noriyaro!
Aaaand I am out of luck, can't find any RAM 150 vans for sale...
wow are you serious. where do you live cause they're everywhere in the U.S. matter fact the Ram vans aren't even the most popular here in the states. the Chevy express, gmc Savanah, and the ford e150 sold wayyy more. that's why Chrysler ended production on them and just stuck with the sprinter van instead
In the glorious Finland
Beloved Lover oh yeah this was meant for the American market only
Well, maybe one day I'll find imported one for reasonable price.
I was thinking this is what Fujiwara Takumi uses when their Tofu Business goes Big LOL.
Probably has a fleet of these
It's good to see you back!!! Missed ya!!!
Enjoying these vids man!
next time on noriyaro kei truck battles! im still hoping...
That is actually a thing too...
yea bro check it out! that stuff is awsome! (btw love your videos ;p)
Like with Daihatsu Midget D's or whatever?
I think they mostly use suzuki carry and daihatsu hijet but i have seen some midgets slide aswel... On video that is
they race full sized semi tractors in europe, those beasts use water cooled brakes and they're a blast to watch race!
i love japanese car culture
The best youtube channel! Can't wait for more videos!
These things are so rad!! Video was real fun man.
That's crazy that they didn't mod the suspension or brakes. I can't imagine going around the track like that with drum brakes in the rear. Gotta love the Japanese.
I was pretty surprised with how well they braked, even after a few laps.
Well they are made to carry weight. Lighten them up by stripping the interior, and factor in mostly stock engines and you have brakes that can handle a few laps, I guess.
He said in the video they were pretty much stock, which didn't make sense to me. Thanks for letting me know. I've got hours of video ahead of me.
They all look lower than stock rise height. I'm guessing they did something to the suspension.
they probably just cut the front coil springs, and put lowering blocks in the rear.
I used to think that the reason I don't see many Dogge Ram vans on the road anymore was they were all in junkyards these days. After seeing this video, however, I see they all went to Japan instead.
This video made me LMAO the entire time I was watching it. Why do these vans have such a cult following in Japan? Does the Chevy Van / GMC Vandura or the Ford Club Wagon have the same sort of following, I wonder?
I love your videos!! always looking forward to the next one!!
Upload out of nowhere, Quality content, ITS SO GOOD!
This is so cool. Watch prices in USA skyrocket because of this video! Thanks Japan! Haha
spectre intakes... hahaha, it's a really common cheap pod intake brand from the states, you can go to almost any auto parts store and find them.
SO AWESOME TO SEE YOU BACK WHOOHOOO!!
Thanks so much for recording and sharing!
Watenabe looks good on every car!
Facts
Too bad they never heard about the Econorine
They are a fan of the Shibore Asutoro though...
what about the Fordo Toransito?
Engrish, nice...
GM G-series, baby... All-the-way!
There's probably a good reason for them choosing the Dodge over the Ford Econoline and Chevy G series. Unlike the Chevy and Ford which are body on frame design, the Dodge is unit body with more car-like suspension components and in pre-'94 models, a recirculating ball steering system with a much tighter turning radius. The Ford and Chevy may be tougher, but the Dodge is more easily modified.
thanks for doing these cool vids keep em coming
Looks like a lot of fun! Keep the vids up, been missing your videos!
I wished the us do something cool like this
im wondering how they keep the smushomatic transmission from exploding?
A few of them had trans coolers, but I was wondering that too.
noriyaro yea I working on a lot of them vans here in the states for a fleet and that was our weakest link in them. a904 torqueflight I've had them explode. Is there anyway you could get some more information about them? I'd like to use the mods here.
Short Chassis, running 318 that also make it lighter.
The 318 spins higher, so is probably more ideal for this track use.
+noriyaro it sounds like they got shift kits & transmission intercoolers, but just changing the transmission fluid using atf4 the correct one your transmission will last unless you use other regular fluid it will go bad.
Your videos are great. I enjoy seeing the crazy things that are happening in Japan.
That was something new for me and it was the most fun I've had in a long time watching those vans on the track.
Now watch everyone start doing this here in USA.
You say that like it's a terrible idea, but you can get one of these for a song in the US, and they're V8 and RWD. The only thing that keeps them from going fast are the drivers and the weight.
I have one with a 360 and still, believe me, they don't feel like they are meant to go fast. It can accelerate pretty well but the braking and turning, not so hot at all.
The shit you could do in an Astro van is hilarious. I bet it really wouldn't be difficult to set up these Dodge Vans.
I know a guy that has one with a built 360 and tranny. His build is geared more towards towing and hauling heavy cargo, but that thing has some serious balls when it's unloaded.
spectre is autozone special hahaha
That's cool and different! I wish I would've been older in the 70's when the custom vans were all the rage in here in America!
Yo welcome back! nice video man
Now they need to put these into Forza Motorsport series.
finally
Absolutely loved it, soo much fun!
You are back :) im so happy :) dodge van races lol :) love japan
Being a carpet guy I can't tell you how bad I want one of these and to show up at a customers house would be a highlight in my career!
I know I was thinking about getting back into the painting business but hate the prospect of driving around in a mundane full sized van. I really needed this video. Now I can do something stupid!
David McClelland My last van was a 94 B350 with the 5.9 V8, it was one of the fastest vans I ever owned. A few donuts in an abandon parking lot after work always melted away the daily frustration. I prayed for snow every winter just so I had an excuse to drift! Cops here in Philly don't even care, in fact one kinda waved me down after I lost it from over comp. and he said "Hey be safe slow down". Sure thing Mr. officer! RWD = Perfect excuse!
My life be like ooooh aaah oo aaah ooooooo aaaaaah
Finally a new video, love these vans!
I am so glad he is still posting vids :D
this is ridiculous, i mean this is just nonsense but i love it
Japan makes everything possible
I mean ANYTHING
doge lol, here's a challenge! Chrysler C-body, 1969-1973 (Plymouth Fury,
Dodge Monaco, Chrysler Newport/New Yorker, Imperial LeBaron) Let's see them Tokyo drift in a Chrysler that can seat about 20! (it's as big as a whale!)
Doge Van
Good to see you back :D
another fantastic video. hats off to you good sir.
THEY DRIFT LEMONS
An upload?
YEEEES u are back!!
Loved the video and neeeeeed more of them more often pls
damn someone show this to Orion
I wonder why they're fascinated with the 1994-2003 version? Why not the 1971-1993 models?
Probably easier to get in good condition. Also, Japan jacks up the road taxes on older vehicles to extortionate levels, ensuring only rich collectors can afford to drive them. This is done on purpose to ensure a cycle of guaranteed consumption to keep their manufacturers afloat.
Yeah. Probably the most rigged non-communist economy in the world.
Germany does a similar thing and yet they point to the USA as the centre of consumerism! Go figure!
damn Germany too?
My guess is availability. Maybe the US military bought and imported some to use as people movers on the bases in Japan during the 90s through early 2000s. It was probably easier to import them than get US soldiers to drive a right hand drive stick shift on base. They likely upgraded to sprinters or a different company in the last five years, so I'm sure there was a surplus of outdated Ram vans. Rather than spend more than the vans are worth shipping them back to the US, they probably sold them to the locals for pretty cheap. Just a guess
Thanks for the upload.
i see they're LHD do they import our old vans like we import their old tiny trucks?
They're imported USDM vans.
That's awesome lol
i think these vans are ment for the japanese and European market
there for ..no right steering wheel versions
wow,,,now thats extremely odd
an american van subculture IN japan,,,
thats as weird as trying to fly with a boat
i mean the dodge electrical system is a nightmare on dodge cars...
i bet they swapped it all out for something far more reliable...like full standalone system
talking from experience
this is what i want....to make my van track worthy
Finally, I've waited so long!
this guys vids are always the best
Man, they must have beefed up those 46RE's
my 94 has a 727
How has the 727 held up and is it better than 46RE? I'm in the market for a van but have no idea what to get other than I've been a Ford guy all my life. But I did drive a Dodge van during a delivery job once and it was very impressive.
Wow nice numbers! Thanks for the info!
I got a 96 dakota with a 3.9 and a 42RE, 148k just replaced the front pump seal 5 months ago after it blew out. I'm hoping it holds up till 200k!
𝓐𝓼𝓽𝓻𝓸𝓽𝓱𝓾𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓻𝓴𝓪𝓽 I've always heard Dodge transmissions were sketchy, then I heard that was because Dodge was putting too much torque in their engines for the transmissions. Then my dad, the biggest critic of them, started doing research and went and bought a new Ram diesel with the big Cummins. It's held up fine. His Ford van at the same time had started having problems at around 150,000 and I have a Crown Vic with 158,000 on it that is showing signs of minor wear in the valve body (hesitant shifting esp when cold) and is also leaking at the front a little.
So I don't know what to think about brands anymore. I do like Dodges and see some good deals out there so guess I'll have to do my research.
they need ls swaps
nope. all they need to do is build that 5.2 318. with the right mods you can squeeze out 450+ hp
Haha i thought the exact same thing
"another vehicle to LS swap i guess"
swap a ls then throw a cam in and you will get there easily
Any Gen of the 5.7 Hemi will probably swap more easily, they are a cam\springs away from 400+ hp bolt ons too. although lots of power to be had in the 318\360
Mopar over shitbag Chevy any day.
your van video is going viral, blogs are posting it now. Hope you blow up dude! Love your vids
this is amazing. my dad had 2 dodge vans from when I was born in 1977 until about 1999 so I'm being hit with a pretty intense wave of nostalgia.
Well, can't fault the Japanese on this one: one of the few non-shit Chrysler products in the last 60 years is the Ram & Ram Van. Still not quite as tasty as a 351W powered E-350, but definitely worth thrashing the piss out of.
Also, is he using a manual-valve body, or just pretend-shifting a normal auto-trans? It didn't look like there was a clutch pedal, so I'm a bit doubtful.
you are joking right? non shit chrysler products from the last 60 years? mopar whooped that ass in almost everything until its management went to shit. keep living in your fantasy.
Frigglebiscuit "Till it's management went to shit" in other words, when Daimler bought them out. Mercedes-Benz had no clue what it was doing when they owned Chrysler. (and I say this as a Mopar man!)
