      It's not ratatouille, ratatouille is vegetables cut into cubes, in the movie ratatouille, they don't cook ratatouille actually but some kind of tian de légumes for fancy restaurant called "Confit Byaldi"

      i would not aggre only the boeuf bourguignon (french beef stew) looks homemade, the gratin dauphinois (potato gratin) looks it came out of factory even homemade looks more delicious than this and the ratatouille looks it came out of high-end restaurant lol

      @@neartzim4240 there are no French cuisine restaurants in Pakistan. The channel has its own chef who tries his best recreating dishes, of course a lot of the produce and ingredients would differ from France.

      The world food rankings seem to be France in 1st place, Italy in second place and spain in 3rd with greece in 4th.

      @@SE-tc3cr Japan, China, India, Morocco, Korea and Vietnam are not bad either.
      However, one can distinguish between food (the products) and cuisine (the way you use them).
      As for France, our main advantage is regional diversity (I.E. Ratatouille is from Provence, Choucroute is from Alsace etc.) and social diversity (high cuisine comes from nobles cooks trying to earn a living after the Revolution, while traditional food comes mostly from peasants families, and both influenced each others).

      Sauf que c'est pas de la ratatouille ! à la limite c'est un tian de légumes . on dirait la version du dessin animé Ratatouille . Ce n'est pas non plus une insulte à la Provence et ça a l'air pas mauvais du tout mais c'est pas de la ratatouille

I've seen the dish called Tian Provençal, Ratatouille Tian, Layered Ratatouille, Ratatouille Casserole, just plain Ratatouille and all manner of 'summer vegetable bake/casseroles'. But we tend to play fast and loose with names-you should see what some people call Goulash.
      Overall I think they do a decent job with unfamiliar cuisines. Cheers.

    One of my favorite dishes is steak au poivre,beefsteak crusted with black peppercorns and served with the sauce made in the pan from the meat drippings.

    The thing about making a stew is that you can get cheaper cuts of meat and they will become tender due to the long cooking time and wet cooking method.

      Loved their reaction to "cheese" everything.
      Also, for the beef stew and the potatoes, some baguette break to either soak the broth or make a sandwich.
      Any local "fermented" dough bread with a crust should do.

    never saw a Ratatouille like this before, and i'm french. Maybe well prepared by a chief?
    But potatoes Gratin or Ratatouille used to be acompagned with meat, alone is kind of different for try a dish.

    Fun fact : a recently published scientific study has demonstrated eating food that already has a good amount of vitamins and minerals is way better than getting supplement in addition of food that has a low vitamins and minerals level, it's a question of metabolization . Tahir is really spot-on about his knowledge on food.
    4:20 Tahir has a similar childhood memory than Anton Ego in the "Ratatouille" film!

      Pakistan bacterial and parasite sanitary standards doesn't allow to eat raw beef meat safely, that's also why you can't make steak tartare with most of american ground beef. And as a French guy I wouldn't eat raw beef coming from supermarkets, only from reputable butchers.

      All I know is that they will definitely know the difference. Pork meat for no pork eaters has that no offense to anyone, that porcine taste and smell that will put them off straight away

    ratatouille is a very good dish but they dont seem to like it. I wonder what the chef did to it because it is very well received the world over. The ratatouille presentation is nice, but I am not sure the eggplant Is really cooked and would taste bitter. I doubt that Cooked eggplant would stand up on its side like that.

    I know a lot of you loved the movie but please, stop calling this a "ratatouille"... What Remy cooks at the end is called "confit byaldi", ok it's a variant of the "ratatouille" but it's different. Simplicity is king, no need for an elaborate dressing everytime!
    Still loved the video though, their reactions are so honest and thoughful!

    As with many dishes presented on this channel, I have to wonder about the veracity of the recipes. Are these folks allowed to eat garlic and onion? Both are staples of French cooking, but are often off limits in Islam.

      Vous avez le mérite de cuisiner au plus près certaines recettes de cuisine Française , c'est tout à votre honneur .Ces recettes de cuisine varient d'une région à l'autre et beaucoup de personnes ( comme moi) revisitent certaines recettes pour les sublimer ! . Félicitations au chef et bravo à toute l'équipe !

      Make that at least 2 French who think it’s close by traditional food in France, first one looks like a boeuf bourguignon, second is gratin dauphinois, and last one is definitely looking like a ratatouille. So definitely looking ok on video. And I ate those kind of plates all year during childhood in France…
