Weighted vest training tested - 30 day transformation
I wanted to take on this challenge to see if using a weighted vest every day for 30 days could increase my pullup strength. I wanted to take on this 30 day weighted vest pullup challenge to see how it would transform my strength. I've always enjoyed calisthenics and calisthenics training, but I wanted to see if using calisthenics workouts, if i could get stronger using weighted vest training. Hope you like the video!
Have a great week guys! Cheers. - Sport
Ideally, I would want to see the comparison afterwards without the weighted vest. It would show how much he improved on an even playing field. Imagine he did 2x more because of the 25lb BW increase.
normally it wont increase it much more because he isn't training the reps but he might get 2 more
m.czcams.com/video/uZdv-TtiMkg/video.html
At least 12-15. 25 lbs extra is a lot. He has the strength. Getting to 12-15 should be easy. He almost did 6 the first day with 25 lbs. So without he could probably do 9-10.
This would be the non stupid way to test it unlike what they did lmfao
@@theadventurest4345dude what? If you train pull ups with the vest and the reps increase then when you take it off you would do significantly more reps lmao
Love the name of the wind. A read isn't a penalty, it's a treat!
But no doors of stone in sight
I love that the two of you use this channel as an entertaining way to improve your lives.
Thanks. The channel definitely helps with staying consistent with whatever we're working on!
*"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." -Aristotle*
*Incredible video!*
m.czcams.com/video/uZdv-TtiMkg/video.html
this quotes comes from Will Durant not Aristotle
For me if its snowing or raining, I know other people are skipping workouts so its extra motivation for me to do the hard work even when you don’t feel like it.
yess no excuses!
Hamza
This guys progression since the first fitness video is crazy
Thanks. It's been a long journey!
Brendan REALLY didn't like Cam getting that deadlift win over him last time :DDD
Haha... not at all!
Ladders! With the weighted vest! 1pull up,2 push ups 3-6,4-8 and so on. Then you can change your grip on both! Brutal but very effective!
thanks for the advice!
Been watching for years. Videos keep getting better. Great information and content.
Thanks!
really glad I came across this channel. love all the videos you guys upload. motivated me to get some gymnastics rings. keep it up
Awesome! Excited to hear how your rings training goes!
A friend of yours told me about your channel. Sweet Jesus guys, you’re killing it. We’re local-ish as well and I am massively impressed by the video, the quality and the editing.
Fantastic results, you killed it.
Thanks so much! I so curious to know which friend lol.
@@GoalGuys He works at Holy Whale in Riverview. I didn’t catch his name though
Bro, amazing video. High quality content. Deserves MORE!!!🥊
This really requires abundant amount of strength. Great power. Truly inspiring! 👏🙌🙌. So fun to watch your progress ✈
Love these videos.
we all do 💯
Excellent video 👍
There better be a vlog of Cam's journey reading that book!
We'll have to figure something out!
Off the bat your pull up looked way more controlled and clean. Getting my weighted vest now 🤝🏻
Nice! Started to miss your videos
Love the video, no clue how this wasn't notified to me even though I'm a subscriber with the bell on.
I love the videos. Can you try negative reps with pull-ups at the end of your sets where you jump to the top of the rom and slowly lower yourself until grip fails. I got insane results from this type of. Keep up the good work man
That seems like a great way to train if you don't have quite enough strength for a proper pull-up.
Excellent video
agreed 💯
the best channel on yt
So, Cam wins either way? Name of the wind is awesome, we really need the third book 😂
Correct!
Great Video Lets go!
Always a treat when you guys upload, been here since the wolverine video!
that video was legendary, I would watch it at least a couple times a month when I first started training
I agree
Love my boy Cam.... So glad he lost. That book is a must read for every human.
This was so fun to watch. i just bought a 12lb vest for walking in...i will try other moves with it too
what pull up bar and rings are you using?
What brand of outside pull-up bar did you use around this time? 1:40
5 is good start mate keep it up
About to watch this, just wanted to suggest that for your next fitness challenge you do one of Iron Wolfs month long challenges. He usually has them out every second month so we'll hopefully have one in february. They are free on his youtube channel and consist of high rep burpees with additional cardio
We'll check him out!
im about to start using a weighted vest i hope i can get some good gains out of it
Good Video. You need to tell us exactly what your eat, with Macro breakdowns.
Great challenge and video. Have you read The Comfort Crisis? There is a part where the author advocates rucking as part of your normal daily routine. The added weight burns more calories.
I have not. Maybe I will check it out!
I haven’t watched the video all the way, but is this vest good for running and jumping? If so I’d like a link to it
I love Goal Vsauces content!
I love buff vsauce too
@@jaimebibelot4398 Jason Blaha?
Uggh, gyms closed again. Bonnie Henry means BC, maybe Vancity. I have a question if any other people out there from around here: is there a complete outdoor gym in Vancouver, similar to the one on the beach in Harrison Hot Springs?
the punishment was reading "name of the wind?" Thats the best gift ever
Mad ting! Raspec
True Big Brother energy!
for sure!
I wonder how much weight vests compress the discs in your back?
My uncle at 62 did 40 pull-ups and had juice left. Keep on training :)
Chin ups or pull ups? Even 20 proper pull ups is pretty fucking elite.
@@edrickhuge4637 pull ups. But I have to mention that my uncle was a professional slalom water skier and trained hard all his life ;)
@@111TheFox111 49 is insane man, man respect.
Looking jacked with that angle in the beginning
Yeah man, make a short video, here or Instagram and show us your improvement in pull ups without weighted vest. I think you can do now really a lot of them :)
would love to see that
underrated channel
he will blow up in 2022!
Kvothe 's has great story
What vest did you use and did you like it? Been looking at getting one but wasn't sure which one to go with.
hope he answers your question
The vest I bough doesn’t have any branding on it so it’s hard to say, but it’s a 20kg adjustable vest. Hope that helps!
@@GoalGuys thanks!
@@GoalGuys Perfect, thank you :)
Mine holds 40 pounds. For the longest time I had only three sandbags removed, and just now I put all of them in there, and it’s so much more heavier I just added 11 1/2 extra pounds lol.
Hardest working man on CZcams. Great job. I wonder how many you could do without the vest after training in it for 30 days.
So weird how my goals tend to line up with yours. I was planning on getting a weighted vest, and then this video drops lol
did you get one?
@@johannes01 not yet! In the market for one though.
@@kylemccoymusic4202 okeey nice 💪
Patrick Rothfuss is awesome
Would have been interesting to see a max effort bodyweight pullups and pressups, then train with the weighted vest and then re-try the max and see how big the improvement is.
yess true
Kvothe would be proud.
This bald guy is literally real One Punch Man lmao 😂
FFS that is a good book! Not a punishment! Also great results looking at the pic.
Hey Brendon, how you can go forward with your training depends on what your goals are. You were doing well in the strength training department but you were looking to build endurance more to beat Cam. For next time you want to be slowly increasing the amount of reps you can do on each variation of a pullup (overhand, underhand and neutral grip) as well as ring pullups and body weight rows. If you’re aiming for endurance with the vest, train for endurance. Keep up the good work guys.
So uh... when is Cam's Kingkiller review video out?
Dude, you need to learn doing flips for next challenge. Like cartwheel to backflip and etc.
yeah would love to see that video from him
Try Murph
I don't think you adequately deloaded. Would be interesting to see how many reps you would have achieved had you taken 3-4 proper rest days before the test.
*Remember my dear friend: you are unique, beautiful, and talented🌸 You're the king\queen of your own life & happiness. You matter! Get up, go forward, and start living your best life✨*
*I hope you have an amazing day*
*Good luck friend!*
even in a 5 rep range you can still build muscle
30 days Olympic weight training would be great
Really like the czcams.com/users/postUgkxKE8pP77yruPYa7SBcl0a72pDnIHtz0wF because the placement of the weights on the perimeter of the vest makes it easy to use for a variety of activities without the weights interfering with any activities. Had an issue after 6 months when the strap holding the top buckle tore out. I contacted Aduro customer support and they took care of me.
Is that like 10kg?
Where's the video of his progression reading the book??
I’m 200 pages in and surprisingly really enjoying it! Hoping to read more this week!
Oh my goodness I would actually LITERALLY do unspeakable things to have that exact weather youre dealing with a year ago in this vid, if it would mean I would never have to experience another 100+°F/ 90+% Humidity Alabama Summer Day. Especially without working A/C in my 20yr old car 🥺 you just don't understand how close I feel to actual death each and every single day during every summer here.
Like dude Im seriously getting emotional af just talking about it and thinking abour hiw horrible it is and how much ai despise the very idea of waking up knowing I have so much to do outside that its not even possible for 1 person to do it all. Yet i never see another freaking sole anywhere around me. Strange ehen i see them in the house when im there on a reg basis.......ok sorry I'm getting into my problems on your channel and I'm not even sure it's just the whole situation and I want that weather youve got so bad I could cry
At a novice to advance level strength and hypertrophy training is the same. Thinking they’re different is why people never really accomplish their long time goals. Train for performance and your aesthetic goals will come.
Why did you not try going for the full 45lb weighted pull up? Wouldn’t it have created for greater strength gains?
Not Necessarily. I wanted to stick with a weight that I could confidently keep my form with training and didn't feel like I would be able to do that consistently with 45lb.
@@GoalGuys Fair. sticking with proper form would lower the likelihood of injuries. I have tried pulls ups with 40lb of weighted vest and got to 2-3 reps at my “peak” but form was sloppy and I could only complete about 2 sets before it went down hill and I wouldn’t able to do more reps. Either way keep it up the content is top tier and very inspiring.
@@GoalGuys would also love to see you try the planche. Definitely a longer term challenge especially the taller you are. But I would love to see your attempt and strategy.
What if i just did one set of max reps
I just came across this channel, specifically a video about body shaping, and I am really surprised/confused. Is there a point to any of this, or is it some kind of addiction? Or a combination? I think my mind just cannot comprehend how the camera and editing quality are paired with this content.
Patrick Rothfuss - Name of the Wind is an awesome book, what is wrong with your brother?
This guy is Vsauce for fitness
I am 14 and i Do sets of pull ups in 25x 5
I wonder does Goku's muscle art method is effective in getting ripped?
Use the vest to help you dunk
Blimey, don't think you could really call any of those that Cam did pull ups
Dude, I can't even lift myself naked.
are you guys canadian?
We are!
Cam should have focused more on dieting him without extra 15lbs or so would have given him the edge good video though I need add in my vest to my ring training that I do in my closet.
your next one is no brainer, you really got to get a bigger deadlift and squat, lets say 150 kg deadlift and 130 kg squat :D
Every minute you skip your traps exercise a teenager in America starts balding...
Man that really sucks that they closed everything again. Shut down the places where you can actually do something productive to help your immune system, makes sense to me!
.
Reading Name of the Wind is a horrible punishment because the series isn't finished. It's so cruel of you!
69th like nice
That was nowhere near close. Your form didn't break down until your last rep, meanwhile his broke by the third.
First
why this video flopt?
I must be a pansy because I use a weighted vest and I am no where near these guys strength
Hot take, did not care for Name of the Wind.
I just get so annoyed by mid video sponsor messages. 👎 What’s the point of premium if you still are getting ads. Plus they are seldom relevant to me.
