  • TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron shared his thoughts on the spectacular performance by Canucks third-string netminder Arturs Silovs in their series-clinching win over the Predators, and why Elias Pettersson has struggled to find the back of the net, after a quiet series for the Vancouver star.

He is definitely a surprise... World championship doesn't mean *that* much compared to NHL and considering goalies peak later, like 28 I believe, and silovs is playing like a moderate-high tier starter NHL goalie.. at 23 years old. if the canucks can control their penalties and take away that advantage for edmonton then yes the oilers are in for a tough series but vancouver can't win with less than 20 shots. we need to start shooting from every angle, let the deflections and puck luck be as it may. we see way more ugly goals than we do the highlight reel type. plus the cancuks need to get their power play going again it comes down to shooting don't get just 2-3 shots on th pp.

Canucks fans are delusional if they think the Oilers are going to let this one slip away. The Oilers can be a lazy and uninspiring regular season team. Some may even say, for the most part, the Oil don't even give a crap about the regular season. On the other hand Vancouver had something to prove this year after their horrific debacle of a season last year and gave their 2023 / 2024 season everything they had. Vancouver threw the kitchen sink at their season this year. The Oilers focus and priority is and has always been the playoffs. Edmonton is a different beast in the playoffs. Vancouver will have a rude awakening.
