Some Unusual Views Of Mickey’s Runaway Railway At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Here’s a quick video of some unusual views of Mickey’s Runaway Railway (technically not a real railroad) from the disability loading area. From here you get a great side view of the faux locomotive and cars plus a unique “switching maneuver” when your car is joined with the attraction’s train and later separated. What I’d like to know is how engineer Goofy accomplishes this! Thanks for watching!

It’s quite amazing what trackless ride systems can do in such a small space. I bet Disney will improve the technology even further, maybe for a future fantasyland renovation

When the engine is pulling back into the barn at the end of the ride, the chuffing just abruptly stops. To fix it, I played the steam hiss sound from Thomas & Friends on my phone, indicating that the train has stopped.

I like the animatronics and ingenuity they put into the ride but I was never a fan of this animation style. It looks cheaply done compared to the traditional designs
