    Quality - 10
I’ve only given out one or two 10 scores but I have honestly never had a subwoofer that was built to this quality. The SB16 Ultra also got a 10 as these subs are basically identical, minus the size.
The gloss is perfect, the driver feels as sturdy, the amp is hugely powerful and it comes with an app and a LED screen.
    Just beautifully constructed!
    Bass - 8.5
This sub produces very clean and deep bass and would be an ideal fit in a medium sized room.
The heavy bass scenes, from many of my favorite movies, were a breeze in this small room.
It reminds me of a caged animal, just like the SB16 Ultra did.
    MSRP Rating - 8.0
$1,600 is a large chunk of money for most, like it is for me. With brands like HSU, PSA, Rythmik etc., there are other options at this price point that compete nicely at this price point.
    Aesthetics - 9.5
This is a beautiful subwoofer, especially if you like dust-capless subs, gloss black and blue LED lights:)
It is very compact, elegant and beautiful!
    Price Paid Value - 8.5
For me to spent this much money on a subwoofer, just to review it, won’t happen often but I have no doubt I will be able to get all my money out of it, when I’m finished.
I’ve just had better deals, like the Rythmik and the HSU subs I recently reviewed.
    Final Thoughts -
Is it cheap? No. Is there better performance for the money? Yes.
Will you be able to find a higher quality subwoofer, in this price range, with this performance? No. At least you will be very hard pressed to do better.
Beautiful, high quality, compact and affordable.
    Well done SVS!

Just got my 1st svs sub. Wow they go DEEEP. I had a 10" velodyne sub for 20 years and it seemed fine. Its amazing how much subwoofers have improved. The tactile response and frequency range is mindblowing comparatively. I got the bottom of the line pb1000 pro so i can only imagine how that 4000 sounds.

Loving all of the subwoofer reviews, for being average guy and saving money have you thought about doing DIY items? I was looking at buying a lot of the reviewed items here but I decided to build one myself with an 18" woofer in a sealed box, overall costed about $450 for materials and everything and I love this (massive) little thing. It definitely excels more in the home theater department, it works well for music but I don't consider it to be the strong suit for it.
The 2 main components were the Dayton DCS450 paired with the Jung sd300.
The box is double front baffled, 18.5 x 18.5 x 21.5 outside dimensions
not the most optimized build ever but as mentioned before, it's been great.

I ordered mine last week Saturday, 05-29-21, two days before Memorial Day and it will be here today, 06-03-21. I ordered right from SVS and I got the plain finish because I don’t like how easy the glossy attracts fingerprints. I got a smoking deal at the outlet for 1099.00, $1154.00 with tax and I talked to someone by phone after the order and their customer service seems like it will be first rate. I was told to constantly check the outlet because products move quickly. I love their upgrade program, prices when you add two subs and their 5 year warranty.
I’m coming from Rels, T3, T5i, R328 and T7i so it shall be interesting and my purpose isn’t home theater it will be two channel only. I like the tune ability with this sb4000 and I already downloaded the app. My intended speaker will probably be Magnepan 1.7i, I’m currently using Kefq350 and I might try a pair of Kef Ls50 metas.
Absolutely no one on CZcams or in any reviews or forums could answer my questions of speed and performance with a flat panel speaker like Magnepans, which are extremely quick. I know how Rels perform because I have had Magnepan 1.6QR in the past and used them with Rels. Rels are seamless to integrate and sound great, but lack the output that I crave unless I put up a ton more in cash and in the end, I just may have to do this, but for now I have never owned an SVS sub or speakers and I welcome the experience and the tweak ability.
I got rid of my last set of highend speakers because I don’t want any speaker with a built in amp, because they won’t do what a separate sub and speakers will. Rels go up in price drastically from $2500 to $7500 for the top in Rel S25, which is insane, but it’s a Rel. I wanted balanced inputs to work with my preamp. All components that will be used will be Audio Research, VPI and Aurender. I’m looking forward to the experience and I enjoy your reviews, simple and to the point.

Dustin, I scored a 7 speaker (w/ 2 towers) klipsch system with a Sony receiver for 1k even. Bought it from Offerup. Granted it’s last gen Klipsch.
I’d like to utilize my towers but I hear most audio will come from the center channel. I haven’t set up the system yet FYI.

      @blazermdx  Před 3 lety +1

Congratulations on the new speakers! Sounds like you got a pretty good deal, especially since the set came with 7 speakers and a receiver! What models?
Most of the dialogue for movies and video games will come through the center speaker but that doesn’t mean you won’t be utilizing the towers. With proper crossovers, you can have the towers carry the low end, if you aren’t using a sub, which will allow the center to do what it does best, provide clear and detailed voices.
Again, congrats! Everyone loves new speaker day!

What were your thoughts on the sb4000 vs 16 ultra? Don't think I heard you say in the video

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  Před 3 lety +2

They are VERY similar. The SB16 Ultra is more powerful and will have more output but I bet it’s closer than most would think.
Unfortunately, with the size of my room, neither of these awesome subs were sweating through anything I tested them with. I don’t think I’d ever be able to tell a big difference between the two, in a blind test.
If you have a larger room, I would probably go with the SB16, as I don’t like leaving anything to question, when it comes to subs. With that said, at the price of the 16, I’d probably grab the sealed 18” Rythmik.
      Too many great subwoofer options!

If you use the soundbar for movies and you have the room, I would definitely go with the PB4000. I like sealed subs but that’s mostly due to the smaller cabinets. If you have the room, the PB4000 will have more output.
