    Suppose that Pecco would have catched Martin and managed to overtake him: the most Bagnaia would have achieved was recovering the 5 points he lost on Saturday, and Martin would still be the championship leader.
    Martin's ego doesn't allow him to be defeated on track, so he handled 25 points as a gift to Bagnaia.

    Its very odd for me to see MM93 celebrating the 2nd Place like a Win where he was the clear favoirite with the past records. Surprised to see he is taking the 2nd Place so well. Does it mean he really came to terms that PB1 & JM89 are in a different league. Its not the usual behaviour of MM93, He is never happy anything other than a Win

      He is taking 2nd places well because he knows that GP24 is 5 to 15 seconds faster than GP23 over race distance, depending on track.
      And he thinks like "My bike is 10 seconds slower than your bike Pecco but I'm only 1/3/5 seconds behind you. I beat you easy when I get same bike as you😎".

    Jorge is Jorge - ego is his issue and I think always will be. It cost him the ride on the factory bike in 22 when he had 5 DNFs to finish 9th, where Enea finshed 3rd. Last year he had a lock on the title before poor choices and mistakes cost him the title. Looking like this year he will again be without a title, which I think will probably mean a career without one. If Pecco takes the title this year, he will probably be the odds-on favorite to take it next year too. Marc will definitely win some races, but I think he and Martin will cost each other the title in the long run.
    Oh, and awesome job by both Marc & Alex to both get on the podium.

    I don't know if others saw the TNT interview with Frankie Carchedi, but he seemed completely lost on what happened in Germany: technical issues with the bike that pushed marquesz to try to save that lowside (and turned into a high side). More bike issues later on causing Marc to lost time in Q2 before Bradl blocked him, and then going with a base FP1 setup for the main GP race. I love Gresini, but they don't seem to be prepared to handle a championship caliber rider like MM, where they need to be almost perfect from FP1 to the main GP race, especially with the disadvantage of being on a GP23. I can see why MM wanted not only a factory bike, but on a factory team.

    • @ianjohnson1207
      @ianjohnson1207 Před 25 dny

      Nothing wrong with Gresini team, if there was Marc would be the fist to say, in fact he’s said many times before he really rates the team
      As for Frankie he turned around Digi’s career when it was about to go down the pan and was Mir’s crew chief when he won the WC
      Certainly wasn’t a technical issue that caused Marc to lose the front at the waterfall, cold tyre rider error, he wasn’t the only rider to go down there

    Marc Marquez, 7 is generous. If you give Martin an 8, you can't score Marquez above a 7. He crashes more than anybody, hurting the bike and himself. Never able to qualify on the 1st or 2nd row, sometimes 3rd row. He overtakes a lot, but only because he has to. All the overtakes are dramatic and exciting to see, but really all signs of an aging rider.

    The GP23 not only is not as fast as the GP24 but according to the riders its more difficult to ride. All the GP22 riders that went to the GP23 say its harder to ride than the GP22 and the GP24.
    Also the performance differences between last year's bike and the current year bike is getting greater as the season goes on becase there's little to no evolution on the GP23.
    Remember last year the GP22 was always threatening poles and wins but this year the only rider capable of sniffing a win so far with the GP23 is MM so I would say a score of 9 is probably more deserved than an 8, given that he had to adapt to a completely different style of riding, no experience and knoledge in setups to quickly get everything right on fridays that are so critical with the sprint.
    If the gap between 23 and 24 bike was similar to what we had from 22 to 23, MM would have already won but we can see the gap is quite larger because look at Bez, Digia, Alex and compare them to what they did last year.

    • @Harryjones05
      @Harryjones05 Před 26 dny +1

      MM came to the Ducati with no reference on the bike whereas all the other riders had their previous setups and riding styles ruined with the new Michelin tyre, which takes time to adjust to... MM has still been amazing but this factor has been overlooked for the other riders...

    • @cryogeneric
      @cryogeneric Před 26 dny +1

      I have suspected this much. I also recall the factory riders being unhappy with the 23 at the beginning of last season. So it may be that the 22 was fast and easy to setup, but the 23 is more difficult to setup, but faster than the 22 when it's setup correctly.

    • @damirdamir1180

      GP21 was competitive in 2022, Bastianini won 4 races that season.
      GP22 was competitive in 2023, Bezzecchi won 3 races and finished 3rd in the standings with GP22 last year.
      In november 2023 everybody including bookies thought "If Bastianini and Bezzecchi can win 4/3 races with an old bike than Marc can win at least 7/8 races with old bike.
      End 2023 Marc Marquez was bookies favorite for the title, odds for Marc were 2,0,. For Bagnaia 2,8 and for Martin 4,0.
      But Ducati made a very big update with 2024 bike and GP23 has 0 chance to beat GP24.
