    I can't believe the C200 dropped so much in price
    I know a bunch of people who bought it when it came out for around $10k
    We used two to shoot a feature and have gotten a ton of use out of them
    So weird to see them fall out of favor and "get old" when they are not that old
    Great ergonomics, great image

      @Supercon57 Pƙed 4 dny

      @@dog-dreaming honestly it's a solid camera, I still use one regularly as a C cam for a client I shoot a lot with, their content is typically fine at 4k 8bit, matches their C70 cams well
      Although we shot a doc aimed at streaming platforms and had it as a throw away angle as our like 8th camera, having to jump all the way up to CRaw Lite from 8bit was a bit cumbersome...massive files ate through media
      Having it only shoot to a single CFast card was also a little unnerving as we were only able to do a single take of everything
      I've even considered picking one up myself for a bit since it dropped in price so much, currently leaning more towards the FS7M2 thought to better match my predominantly Sony ecosystem

    I picked up a Canon C100 MKII last year and I’m putting back some change for the C200. I was already sold before I watched your excellent content. Now I have to make myself be patient because you have me super hyped about the C200. I’m happy with my C100 but the C200 just turns the corner on what the 100 is missing.
    For what little amateur filming I do, the C200 will make me look like I half way know what I’m doing.

    This was great... I agreee with almost all that was said. I have been using the C200B for 4 years now. The only issue that I have fazed since day one, and even staff on Canon shops in Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong couldn't help, was with the infinite issues with external monitor. I had problems with Atomos Shogun Inferno, of losing signal when trying to work on 50Hz, and most recent with Freeworld monitors, when stepping out of 50 or 60fps. The signal is lost and doesn't go back. SO I have so switch between two monitor to reset the whole camera using the media mode. I wonder why nobody talks about this? And hopefully I've been missing something very basci here that, maybe, you know and could share with us? Without that issue, this would be the perfect camera for me... specially when I'm able to get externa Pro Res 4:2:2 to compensate the lack of 10Bit. Thanks.

    There was no other place to send my understanding of your latest video.
    So I will do it here.
    I agree with you 100% about the CZcams influencer life. That shit for the birds.
    When you are a biz owner like you and me, our focus is not on selling on social media. It’s about entertainment and education. Building community. Fuck fame
    This is why I stopped posting for a second to game plan. Dudes started to send me emails on little gear to review, and I was not with it partly because I sub to a lot of dudes and notice the same shit. RND order or something to that effect. I didn’t need it cause I get the bread out here doing the work.
    This was the motivation for changing all my social media and CZcams channel names from my name Shaoba McCoy to Filmmakers At Large.
    It made more sense to go with my values of building a community over individual fame.
    I was struggling with that level of exploitation.

    I love Canon colors but gave up on them long ago and now love Sony. They are way overpriced and do stuff like this - don't get near a reasonable price until the tech is outdated. I have an FX3 that does incredible video and an A7IV for stills and a B video camera. I use the same lenses for both. Canon thinks it is still 1975. And the Sony has autofocus that you can actually use.

      @@carlosq00 All the camera companies do it but it just has always seemed to like Canon cripples its affordable cameras to protect the sales of the higher end. I believe it is a flawed approach. A new C300 is $11K. In my mind, Canon has nothing comparable to the Sony FX3, which I know is not perfect, but I shot a film on it and it turned out great. Now Sony has come out with the FX30 for under $2000. Also, the FX3 allows me to shoot high quality 4k on a relatively inexpensive SDXC card. Thanks for the video and your reply. I am not a Canon hater - I have just never been able to justify the cost difference.

      @rodrocketon9480 Pƙed rokem

      @@eyemaxmax7419 Listen, straight out of the camera - Canon has the best colors. But there are always so many technical and cost hurdles to overcome. For me, I once could not afford the Canon stuff. You can literally buy 2 FX30's for the price of 1 C200. The cost to get going in a C200 was far higher than that of an FX3. Now I am in the Sony ecosystem and have everything I need for the foreseeable future. I cannot speak to the FX30 because I have not used it - from a distance, it seems like a suped up A6500 - which was a great camera I used for a while. The C200 is weird because they have crippled it to protect sale of their higher end cinema cameras. Sony does not do anywhere near as much of that kind of thing. If Canon didn't constantly try to manipulate their customers I might be one. And does Canon still have that weird version of RAW?
