That's an Oldsmobile rear end, no c clips, pressed on bearings trap a 4 bolt flange between the bearing and the (axle flange) and the flamge bolts to the housing with the brake mounting plate, like a floating axle, but it's a live axle that won't sling off if you lose an axle side gear in the carrier and you'll still have control of the car i.e. brakes & steering. I'd have liked to see a Ford 9" or a Jag independent with a spool kit myself.

No doubt that's a bitchin example of a 59 Merc. That is probably the best built one I ve ever seen. I try to go to the annual Lead Sled Spectacular in Salina Kansas in the last weekend if July. I ve never seen one at that show this kickass!! Good job Greg.
