- This is a tutorial on how I built the input cable for LSDJ / Gameboy using the analog sync in function with the original Gameboy link cable. Then I demo it on a Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator and a second gameboy.
This is awesome, thanks for your walkthrough👍
Amazing! Could I do something similar but to a MIDI cable?
So technically a midi cable is just 5 pins of wire, so as a cable you could wire it up. The problem is you have to translate the incoming data into something that a midi interface would recognize as midi data. So it’s not a 1:1 solution. That said, there are plans for how to build this with an arduino. Look for ArduinoBoy on google and you’ll find the designs. A few places used to sell something called the arduino boy pro and it did gameboy data to midi conversation pretty seamlessly, sadly they have been sold out everywhere and there’s no sign of them coming back any time soon.
@@iamkeebz thank you so much for your answer!
Hello, where do you find working dmg-01 original link cables ? The only cables I can found are double ones which are for color and dmg-01, but I have 2 of these cables (and I did what you do in the video for sync them) and with years it finish to don't work so they are maybe worst than original nintendo ones. I found one of the original cable on ebay but the câble just don't work.
Just get mine from a local used video game store.
Will this work with a modular clock generator?
In theory yeah, it should. It works with volca's as well as Pocket Operators. But as always, do these mods at your own risk.
@@iamkeebz specifically Pamela’s Pro Workout eurorack module. I’ll give this cable a try, thank you!!
@@CamelJam I'm not familiar with that unit. Good luck! But be careful. I really don't know what that would do. Hack at your own risk.
@@iamkeebz basically all it does is send gate signals. I’m thinking maybe this cable could work with LSDJ & that module.
