    Thanks Ger. if we get £65m for Willie and Cry I’d take it even if we go up. Hamer very good signing. Phillips is a no as are all loan players currently away from club. I’d look to get some Luton players as well. Doughty, Chong and Barkley would all do a good job for Leeds and would be very cheap. Fans will always support the team and it was great to see response Saturday.

These loans were seen to be with a view to purchase - and they don't want to purchase so we should loan them to different clubs (or sell them). Why should we loan them out to the same clubs again?, screw them.

    Philips.. depends if he fits in with the new manager's system. and if the loan is cheap. The loan may also be good for Philips as playing for his home club might get his mojo back. . There still seems to be this misconception by some commenters that those people who have any criticism of players or manager, and have doubts over whether we will get promoted, are not true supporters. This accusation is made about both other commenters and creators. Arguably those who have concerns about the club and its future are truer supporters. i am critical of things at the moment but if i was able to get to Elland Road (its been a long long time!) i'd cheer as loud as anyone

    I do not know too much about Hamer but if he can give us goals from central midfield, it would be a blessing, as that is what we have truly missed this season, if it was not for our wide players this season, we would of been up the creek without a paddle, so I would not like to see Gnonto and Summerville go, we need to keep our better players if we have any ambition at all, yes we do need a good overhaul but getting rid of the better players will not help no one, at this moment in time, i'm am so confused about the ambition of Leeds utd, I still say Farke should go and to get a manager with different ideas and not just one way of playing football, also with plenty of enthusiasm and boat load of passion on the side lines, I know some people will disagree with me but it's just my opinion

  • @dfg8851
    @dfg8851 Před měsícem +1

    Hi Ger.
    Top quality content as usual. You're doing a good job
    Something that you've mentioned a few times is about the players who "walked out". I can understand why you and other fans have an issue with this perceived lack of loyalty, but I think that's a bit of a naïve view tbh. You're almost always very objective and unemotional about these matters so I'm a bit surprised.
    Let's just get this in perspective. I believe that the contract that Orta gave them had 2 key elements in the event of relegation: (1) their wages would be reduced by +/-50% and (2) they could force a loan (and presumably retain their wage).
    Most of them were on +/-50k per week, give or take. A 50% cut is more than 1m per year.
    In this day and age, how many players would put "loyalty" ahead of that kind of money? Clearly, none of the Leeds players, and I doubt any others. I'm pretty sure that every single one of those who had that loan clause have exercised it. Firpo might be the possible exception, but I'm not sure he had it anyway, plus he was injured at the time.
    Let's say you had a job where there was maybe some sort of perceived loyalty. Would you go to a rival if they offered to double your salary? Of course you would. I understand that football is emotional but let's get real. The players have a short career and have every right to maximise their earnings.
    I'm not sure any of these loanees are actually good enough for the prem, but IF we stay down and IF any of them do somehow come back for whatever reason AND they will improve the squad, then I would have them back. I personally think Kristensen and Aaronson are probably not even good enough for the Championship, but Roca and especially Wober would be useful. I doubt they will come back if we stay down but they would improve the squad.

    • @LeedsUnitedTheView
      @LeedsUnitedTheView  Před měsícem +1

      on the players who walked out my take is this. Its not loyalty, its fight. they had a chance to fix the mistakes of last season and chose to walk away, club didnt make them. You want players at the club who want to be here and want to fight, not pick up a pay check. their performances at the end of last season followed by the walk out showed me they dont have the fight, and if you look at their loans this year, the vast majority have shown that again. Poor character and not for me. But others entitled to their opinion mate.

    • @dfg8851
      @dfg8851 Před měsícem +1

      @@LeedsUnitedTheView fair point. I don't entirely disagree. None of them seemed to have the minerals. Compare to Raphinha for instance. He still left in order to advance his career, but he did fight his ass off for us.
      I do however think that's a separate point really. Yes, I do think most of them have demonstrated poor character (not to mention limited ability!) but regardless of that, I bet there is a miniscule fraction of professionals who would have stayed for less money if they had had the option to maintain their wage. I would still say that an extra 1m - 1.5m per year is going to turn anyone's head.
      The days of Paul Madeley telling Armfield to just give him whatever wage because he "just wants to play for Leeds" are gone.
