I’m waiting for the dealership arrival to make my purchase after 20 years without a car payment finally something affordable that looks great inside and outside.
For many of us, even here in the frozen Midwest the lack of all wheel drive is not a deal breaker, especially us old folk who drove rear wheel drive Malibu’s, Nova’s and Camaro’s back in the 70’s. We survived. Now being retired, if the roads are bad we just wait until the next day and the roads are clear.
Same for around us. You can make it through winter on FWD. I’m assuming they wanted to be a price leader with this one
@@ChevyCLE 4 snow tires on each wheel is more effective than AWD using season tires in most circumstances. Have driven both in upstate NY winters and if I had to pick only one I am taking the snow tire equipped FWD vehicle.
Obviously both AWD combined with snows would be best.
The change in traction with snow tires is drastic. You do have to deal with tire changeover twice a year but I will take that for less upfront cost of FWD, less weight and better fuel economy all of the time.
For sure! I don’t think it will hurt it. It the AWD is a must have you have the Trailblazer to go to.

I don’t really care either way. When I commuted into the city it was nice although never really needed. Now that I am retired I just plan better.

I love it! Impressive 11 inch touch screen. Just wish it had a different antenna - the long pointy one takes away from the sleek looks

Exterior looks VERY similar to the Blazer, which is good (but maybe not for Blazer owners!). Interior looks really good too. Pricing seems excellent. I don't like this exterior color, & I don't like gray interiors, but I do like the yellow accents. Looks like a great car. Finally: something affordable. And: FWD is just fine with me, thank you.
I'm excited for these. Should be coming soon.

This is Chevrolets answer to the Cruze replacement. See a lot of similar parts (lane assist buttons, interior door handles, etc. love the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto! This is a great job Chevy! Our family misses the Cruze.
Very happy with it! Cruze was a good car. Need to fill that segment for buyers.
Nailed it. I am still loving my 2013 Cruze but am considering the new Trax as the replacement. I have been waiting for sedans to come back in style, but this is pretty close lol. Love the new look.
@Creole Bunny Definitely right when it comes to Honda. My Cruze is at 125,000 miles and did have a coolant leak issue. All was fixed for $1000 and that is all I have ever spent fixing the thing. I have had it 10 years as a daily driver. If the Trax can do the same, it is definitely worth the cost.
I snagged mine Saturday. I got the mosaic black LT and the one I lucked out on has every upgrade offered in these Trax. I have the sunroof package, the full electronics package wireless apple/Android car play, adaptive cruise control, drivers confidence package, keyless remote start, LT Convenience Package. The seats are the Evotec leatherette/cloth combo. It has heated seats, mirrors and wheel, wireless charging pad, the works and it's fun as hell to drive.
Got mine for $26,000 out the door with gap insurance and extended warranty. I happened to be at the dealership as they were unloading it and knew I found a steal as I hadn't seen another LT fully loaded like this anywhere and this one had more upgrades than any of the RS trims I had looked at. I prefer the blue accents inside the LT as there are just a few on the dash and not allover the seats like the RS and the blue accents blend with the screen displays. The red or yellow in the other trim models continues it onto the seats which I didn't like at all.
The only change I'm making are the gold bowties to black ones. If you can find one like mine there's no way I'd go with a higher trim because really all that changes are the inches of the wheels, a power seat and seat material, and gloss grill. Im obsessed with mine! She's a sexy little thing for this mama to drive around town. 2 of my 3 kids are out of the house now so I got to downsize from my big SUV and this was the perfect little crossover to do it in.
I don't need a luxury car I've always been a Chevy girl but I feel like I'm not sacrificing much honestly. The tech in the car is so incredible at this price point, it was a no-brainer and I love it!!
My only dislikes was no air vent in the back and I'd love an arm rest with no cup holders in the backseat. Obviously I'd trash the gold bowties and have mine completely blacked out but that's it. Just can't praise this car enough. It's pretty cool because mine is the only one Ive seen on the road here in DFW in Texas so far.
I got a black activ a week ago I personally think it looks the best, love the front end. The LT looks okay.

I have a 2016 trax AWD the new one looks great but with no AWD idk if I'll get it.
Everyone has their preferences! I think its a price point car. They want to keep it as low as possible. If customers want AWD then the Trailblazer is a option

Looks great. Wish it had more power and ditch that antenna sticking up. Go w shark fin. As far as looks r concerned and price.. I am good w that part. What size is gas tank? I guess it gets decent mileage so wont hav to make pit stops that often.
Own a 19 2LT awd trax. This is lightyears ahead of the previous version. Wish this was around in 19. Our only complaint of our 19 is a tiny trunk and floor is not flat when we recline seats...

Chevrolet Trax 2024 Is Best
The downfall of these models will be its 1.2 3-cylinder that are only rated up to 32 Mpg 😩
Its early still so we shall see!
and if it has a rubber timing belt instead of chain-driven timing gear, leave it on the lot. Useful life of a belt is iffy past 40K miles, and you have to get it replaced or could ruin the engine. Odd-cylinder motors have all sorts of vibration issues too.
I will never buy a vehicle with less than 4 cylinders. I don't like counter balance shafts.
I will say that after test driving a Trailblazer RS with the 3-cylinder engine, I felt that the engine didn't feel too bad. Considering that I am a gigging drummer though, I would need to be hauling equipment around all the time and I did not feel comfortable loading that vehicle up with that engine as the power plant. I could be the exception though. Hauling three other people around might be a similar comparison. I don't agree with putting a 3-cylinder engine in these smaller SUVs unless they can get more power out of them. I ended up with a Terrain instead of the Trailblazer RS AWD that I test drove. More money and more room and it handled all of my equipment with no problem. The gas mileage was the same as well. That is just my take on it. It's a nice looking vehicle though.

We live in Western New York, have long winters and front wheel drive is not a deal breaker.
It's not a must have for most.
The Blue Glow metallic you can order an LT with Blue interior trim This car has the Yellow trim with an Artemis accent on air conditioning vents there is a Yellow accent that's way cooler than this model that you can order I can't decide on an orange, nitro or black one 😉 love that it comes with Sunroof I just test drove one today nice and smooth

The dash would look much better without the curved infotainment center stack. It should just run straight across like Mercedes it would look more luxury and would not isolate passengers from the over all ride experience. Not to mention it's not a race car or sport sedan so no need for the curve

I dont think the 4" lower is a good thing. My trailblazer is just about at a good height. The Equinox and GMC Terrain are at a perfect height.

May be a 3-cylinder, but it has 137hp 162 pd-ft torque compared to the 4-cylinder Kicks (122 114) and powered by an automatic transmission not a CVT.

The Trailblazers have had plenty of pick up. I think the 2.0T would be a little much for this.

As an old Trax owner, everything looks great. However they've made a HUGE mistake. A 3 cylinder 1.2 L ??!! Really??!!
So now is a bigger car, with a smaller, less powerful engine. That's certainly a deal breaker for me.

Actually, this new Trax has TWO top trims; the ACTIV and the 2RS, which have the same price. The 2RS is the only trim that gets the 19" wheels, but no power driver seat (the ACTIV has it). ACTIV trim has 18" wheels. Also, a power liftgate is not an option for any of the five Trax trims; a sunroof and a phone charging pad are extra options. I have to say I am quite disappointed in the 3L engine chosen for this car, which even with turbo, puts out only 137 HP. The engine definitely does not match the new looks and styling of the Trax, and to have an RS (Rally Sport) trim with only 137 HP is an ironic joke! If Chevy was going to redesign the entire vehicle, make it bigger, and give it such sexy styling, they should have definitely given the new Trax a more potent and capable power plant to go with the new looks, at least 175 HP I'd say. Although I really like the new redesign and style, I'm afraid that the small engine is a deal breaker for me. It probably will be as well for other car buyers. Chevy really screwed up on this! 😩

Yeah well unfortunately the warranty is not any good you only get 36,000 mile warranty on it so therefore I wouldn’t buy it because of the warranty when I can go buy in a Kia Sorrento that has a 10 year hundred thousand mile warranty or even the Kia soul that has a five-year 60,000 mile warranty not to mention a key is a better made vehicle than GM and the retail value holds much better
