A huge improvement from the previous generation!
Big time Bryan!
i dont think so. 2016 model was the best to me
Fr
@@bbysrs i have a 2020 and i'll take mine over this 3 cylinder. good luck as its tops out at 60k.
@@williamsannuto8239 yeah but the interior has an overall better design with the storage options inside. Plus the 2016 one is more reliable and can top out at 200,000 miles. My friend had one and it lasted around 200,000. But, I see where you are getting at, more space, more advanced technology, and better comfort are welcome aditions. I don't really think it has a unique design (like the blazer) and it is almost a foot longer which can impact the turning radius.
There are not many affordable cars these days which doesn't look embarrassing. Thank you Chevrolet.
That is a very good point!
Exterior looks great, interior looks sharp. Just wish it had a more powerful engine and interior build material like the Mazda cx-30
Iâm laughing at âembarrassingâ, because this is so true.
I'd wouldn't be embarrassed driving any affordable car.
@@brandonbeckham8803 You're expecting too much. This new Chevy Trax is cheaper than a new Corolla so it's great value for the money.
Wow! I honestly thought the top trim would have been closer to $38 - $40,000. But the top trim is $25,000! Wow! Props to Chevy for keeping this cheap. Now we just have to fight the dealers and their insane up charging.
I know right!
I think the US must up the ante to protect its citizens. In South Africa we are protected by the Consumer Protection Act which restricts dealers from increasing prices above MSRP. What's on the sticker price is what you get. What's happening in the free world is ridiculous.

It looks muscular and capable. No CVT...that's a huge benefit right there.
Eh the 6(!) speed auto and 1.2 will be a dog. My grandma had a encore 1.4t and it was borderline unsafe for highway travel lol
@@jadenantal1652 The 140 HP 147 lb ft of torque engine or the 153hp 177lb ft? Give me a break. I drive a 2022 GLI and that has a 2.0T and that car feels slow at times. That sounds like more of a testament to driving skill more than anything
@@NNToriousMy vehicle is 148hp and never had an issue with power and merging/hwy driving. Lower skilled drivers need hp as an excuse for skills and bravery (on the on ramp). Older Corollas with even lower hp do fine here, no excuses guys đ
@@oi32df the 1.3T is not an optional engine? :(
It comes with a self ventilation engine feature.
Basically a good, honest, simple hatchback for a price most working people can afford. We desperatedly need these kinds of cars, especially when the economy going south as quickly as it is. I hope other automakers take the cue and bring a few more models like this to the market.
As a CR-V owner. Iâm very impressed about the improvements on this new generation.
Good job Chevy!
Well as a CR-V owner, your SUV isn't in the same category as the Trax... Your SUV is a Compact SUV and the Trax is a Subcompact (smaller) SUV. The Honda competitor with the Trax is the HR-V, not the CR-V. Chevy's Compact SUV is the Equinox, which is "technically" the competitor with the CR-V.
with a 3cyl?
To answer your question: Yes. A few zonks, but not everyone wants the panoroof and other add-ons. Not everyone has a large family, or a huge amount of friends, or pets. It just seems like a really good economical car. Thanks for reviewing!
You literally described me. I don't need a sunroof (never used the ones I had in the past) or tons of cargo space. I just want something affordable but cool looking. This Trax is it!
@@JillyBean860 I rewatched the video again, and yes, it is a really great, nice looking car that just happens to be affordable, which is a huge plus!! Happy Holidays!!
If you have a large family, you should NOT be looking to get a SUBCOMPACT anything (Sedan, SUV, Truck, etc). Subcompacts are for single people, couples or very young families (and of course po-folk).
@@wolfshanze5980 yeah, I am saying that the suv are for folks WITHOUT a large family, etc. And if I didn't get my Jeep Grand Cherokee, I would strongly consider this, and I'm not poor. Let's be better in 2023 with being understanding and kind.
@iam4usee part of being better in 2023 is not preaching to others how they should be and not jumping to conclusions, two things you just did.
I listed the types of people a subcompact SUVs appeals to... never did I say you were one or all of those things.
Try and be a better person in 2023 by not jumping to conclusions and assuming everyone is talking about you.
Pricing is terrific. If the Trax can get on track (couldn't resist) with reliability, this could be G.M.'s "K-Car" of tomorrow.
I love what you did there man.
never gonna happen knowing gm
@@bangasou12 I know someone with a 2014 Cruze that has over 250k miles on it, very little maintenance and that car was at the bottom of GMâs lineup. If you change the oil and treat your vehicle right it will treat you right. This Trax shouldnât havenât any issues going 200k miles without any major issues.
Astronomical improvement over the last one. I wouldn't even be embarrassed to drive this, unlike the last one
I know how you feel Brandon!
Yes the last generation was pure trash
GM's designers have really done a great job of delivering powerful looking designs for their smaller SUV's, I'm diggin it. I was quite surprised at two things in this vehicle; #!- a real live 6-spd auto instead of the usual CVT competitors offer, and... wait for it... $25k for the 'Activ' model with all the bells and whistles? Deal of the century when you compare the competition to it. Chevy should sell these as fast as they can pump them out.
Wow! It looks a lot better than previous years!
Big time fir sure
The new trax looks so much nicer then the older body style that looks amazing love how GM is doing amazing on there vehicles great job joe the price for the trax is not a bad pricing at all
They knocked it out of the park.
The next Trax is sharp đ kudos chevy
I have never been interested in a Chevy until now. I was looking forward to a CX 30, but this Trax is a serious contender. Can't wait to see it in black.
That thing seriously looks good And seem to me giving off that sporty look even if itâs not.
Chevrolet really did improve it!
@@RaitisRides They really have and I completely forgot they even had this before lol.
Be interesting if they went with a SS as final trim pushing 350 hp Everything the same as RS except engine, style seats, color, and neon interior light. Hp might be too nuch tho
Now if it came with a manual transmission and at least 250 HP....
For those that don't know, the new "Trax" is a rebadged Seeker, which has been on sale in China for nearly a year now. I had a feeling that they were going to do this, and it's a big improvement.
Goodness, these bots are getting bad...
I thought this car looked familiar. You're right it is a rebadged Seeker!

Wow, that Chevy Trax is pretty nice! I think Chevy is on to something with their new lineup. đ
By the way.. it was nice to see a review and not have it compare it to another vehicle. Thanks Joe! đ
Absolutely stunning design change. Under 25K for the top trim including destination is unheard of. My only trepidation is the 3 cylinder 137 HP with a turbo.
It checks off a ton of boxes
I don't think it will be under 25. Upper 30 close to 40. I seen 22's in the upper 26. Under 25? I just don't believe it.

A big hand for GM not abandoning the small sub $25K car/suv market. I imagine the margins are not as large as those massive crossover/SUVs ... but some of us just need an extra little car, or a commuter city car .. or even young people getting started.. they can not afford a $50K plus car. Bravo GM, keep up the good work.
Yeah these arenât huge profit generators, I kind of question the reliability actually if theyâre doing these so cheap.

$25.000 is priced very reasonable when you look at what the other s.u.v 's and cars đ đ cost
Iâve always kinda liked the idea of the Trax, I would rather buy it as a second vehicle than to buy a UTV, its basically the same price.
Thanks fir sharing your thoughts on this one.
For an entry level vehicle Chevy did an AMAZING job on design, style, functionality and pricing. Looks great for this entry level SUV. Very impressive.
Looks great! Wish it had a 2.0 4cylinder but hey letâs give it a chance!
This new design looks pretty pretty good, but I'm curious about the performance. Let's hope it does not feel underpowered while driving.
what do you expect. they not gonna make it faster. maybe they will add like 5 more horsepower.
@@oi32df are you joking? Turbo cars run much better in cold weather. Ever heard the term 'boost weather'?
Actually just saw you said 0, yes that's too cold lol. But cars do make more power the colder it is
If the Trax looks like this, I canât wait to see what they do to the next Traverse!! Because lord knows it needs an update!!
I know right!
I'm not a GM guy, but this makes me consider switching in an economy where there are no more practical cars.
Kudos to GM for making this in the price range and I hope other automakers follow suit.
Sure it's not fast, but least it LOOKS respectable. So many cars in this price point just look cheap, but I wouldn't mind driving into a nice office building with this.
Hopefully adding that turbo helps because the power compared to the size just screams super sluggish to me.
Fingers crossed!
Wait what?!?! I have a 2020 Chevy Trax and I thought the 2022 is the last production of the Chevy Trax! Itâs good that they are still making Chevy Trax because itâs my first car I ever have!
I am glad that I can bring it to you!
HUGE improvement than the egg-shape models and about time. It finally fits in their lineup nicely
To me the strong body lines in the car on the tail light and headlight extends out it's the personality of the car.
I really like it!!! It makes me think itâs the Blazer EV!!!
Thatâs exactly what Chevy wanted!
Impressed. And thatâs something Iâve never said about a Chevy. Wow

Great job General Motors making affordable SUV. I will definitely purchase đ
I have the 2022 Chevy trax (wasn't my choice) but what I can afford and I never liked the look of it at all, since it was so small too and not much room in the backseat, so seeing this new trax actually makes want to get it, it looks so nice so much bigger and better than previous ones.
One of the nicest looking SUV's from GM in years.
I would have never even cared about any Chevy vehicle a few years ago, but I am so happy with my 2020 C8 that I have to learn more. I especially love the infotainment in the newer Chevy vehicles. Very intuitive and super fast response time.
It seems they are trying to take some Corvette goodness and bring it to other vehicles in their lineup.
Same here! Welcome to the Corvette club!
Whoa! This looks wayyyyyy better than the previous version! I thought they were going to phase this out after they released the Trailblazer.
Same here! It should be interesting C
I thought the same thing and I predicted it was gonna be 2023
As someone who owns a 2019, this is mind boggling. I canât wait to see this in person
I think Chevy may have just joined Mazda in having some of the best small-mid sized CUV styling game on this RS. Chevy's been slumming it last in the business in econo car style for 2 decades, maybe this is where they finally get on par with the competition inside and out. The new Blazer was a step in the right direction. Now if only GM would finally replace that dead horse left in charge of marketing Chevy and Buick for the past 20 years with ad campaigns that actually convey some feeling, excitement, or reason to desire their products over the competition.
This is definitely going to be my next Vehicle ! i currently have an 08 malibu ltz, this will be a tremendous upgrade at an affordable price!
Great review, guys! The vehicle is looking great and matches the standard styling we are seeing in other brands too. This Trax is giving me a ID.4 combined with a Venza vibes, all in a positive way. Nicely done.
You are so very right!
Hope the use of the smaller 1.2 turbo 3 is justified with amazing gas milaege (it better be atleast 35+ highway). If it's still only in low 30's then they shoulda atleast used the 1.3 turbo, which gets low 30s highway but has the power people would enjoy. Love this trax way better, great job GM
They nailed this one đđŸ big improvement over the outgoing model
You are so very right about that!
Joe, you do a great, entertaining job on these videos. Just bought an LT yesterday with three "packages". All for under $25,000.00. It has anything anyone could want. This car is amazing.
Wow huge improvement from previous generation. I would have never considered buying a Trax before but will definitely now. No comparison, joke to legit! I guess my only question is if the 3 cyl turbo has enough horsepower. If not those cheesburgers might get pretty cold on the way home.
Thanks for that great insight John.
This was the first video I had seen on the Trax, and I knew I was gonna get one after this. My wife just picked up her Trax LT yesterday in blue. I'm really surprised at how nice this suv is. Seeing it in person is a must.
If itâs still priced nicely like the old trax, this might be my new daily driver

Great review. I'm totally digging the new style of the Trax - a hug upgrade over the current model. Love the price. My favorite elements are the new 8 inch touch screen and the youthful style elements. Just wish they would use the shark fin mounted radio receiver rather than the one that sticks up. Would look a bit smoother. They have it on the Trailblazer too, unfortunately.
Chevy did a great job with this one.
Iâm actually really impressed. I wish the rear end had a more horizontal light treatment to match the front end but oh well. Sign me up for that red RSâŠ

Hey Mr. Joe and Miss Lori, could you do a review comparing the V8 Challenger, V8 Mustang and V8 Camaro in one video. Similar trim levels if possible. A video that has all three fire breathing beasts in the same parking lot parked next to each other. That would be the most epic muscle car video of all time.
The Chevy Trax car reviews are blowin up right now. Lori and Joe @ Raiti's Rides are #1! đ„đđ Awesome job! The Trax isn't too shabby either
Thanks for having our backs Andrea!
Interesting how they de-chunkify with the black portions on the sides. Gives it a cut.
The value and styling together makes this very hard to beat

I like it, no CVT! Not too thrilled on a 3 cylinder 1.3L turbo. Perhaps a 2.0/2.4 liter NA 4 cylinder. Yes, I know less MPG, but I donât like tiny turbo power plants in cars.
Love the looks, think the biggest zonk is the power. 130ish HP just doesn't seem amazing. I feel that for this type of vehicle 200ish would make more sense. I mean heck the 1.5T civic has more powerđ€·đ»ââïž
I like how it has a center console my Chevy Trax only has cup holders like for of them
One of the better looking smaller SUVs and the interior looks great too. I was afraid it was going to look cheap inside.

GM stylists are killing it recently. This makes the Honda HR-V look homely and uninspired.
I like the look of this vehicle a lot but my only big âzonkâ is that radio antenna. đ

Right! Very 1990's. I doubt a standard shark fin is really that much more expensive.
Wow, wow. Am loving this new 2024 Chevrolet Trax. Currently using the 2018 Chevrolet Trax
Wow this is a beautiful sporty looking car,I love itâ€đ
I am glad that you are all about this one.
This is a great start at reinventing Chevrolet as 1) stylish 2)reliable 3)affordable.
This vehicle tells me Barra understands most of America forgot Chevy except for trucks/body on frame SUV in favor of Japanese and Korean makers.
Chevrolet needs serious intervention if the want to avoid a fate like Dodge or, worse, Pontiac or Olds--brands that once fought for the #3 sales position without trucks. Obviously it takes more than one car to save a brand but the low price will attract new buyers who could become lifelong customers. Hopefully an EV clone on Ultium platform will emerge coming in below Nox price point.
I think that itâs a tremendous improvement. A few things that I would have liked are a power passenger seat and tailgate. Iâm going to want to drive one when they become available, but Iâm concerned about a possible lack of power.
I think Chevrolet were smart about it.
I love my Trax and have been holding out to get a new vehicle. I'm so happy Chevrolet is coming out with a new Trax.
Hi Raiti. I really would like if you could put down the 2nd or 3rd row seats when going over the cargo space in SUVs. Always great reviews!

As an owner of a 2016 Trax this doesn't look anything like my bubbly lil car. This is so edgy and mine is so curvy. Also, bought mine because it was affordable, too. About $18k brand new with sunroof, roof rack, Bose speakers, AWD. Love that this is still an accessible car.
Great styling and the LOW PRICES......Chev will sell many more than one boat load of these. Thanks Joe and Lori.
You are so right about that Mike.

Thank You Almighty God for blessing me I will buy one for myself

No AWD is a deal killer...it looks better than the Trailblazer though.
It has already been shared that the i3 1.2 turbo Trax has dropped 1 sec in the 0-60 time regardless losing 20 hp vs the current version.
So the 0-60 for the i3 1.2 turbo is:
8.8 secs.
It's fuel economy is slightly better than:
24 mpg city
32 mpg hwy
(which are the current FWD Trax numbers)
Bump it up to $30k fully loader cooled front seats and heated rear with panoramic sunroof with a few more features and we got a deal.
That is very true!
Wow, this are really a cool design! Love the non-CVT engine and the aesthetic feels premium for the price of the vehicle. I wonder when these will be released?
