  • In this video, I break down my honest opinion, thoughts and advice on the FIX MY CURLS Leave In Cream. Most of you ask me for product recommendations through DM. I also get questions like; is x,y,z product good? Needless to say that I take these questions very seriously. Even if one of you buy something worth Rs 100, on my accord, I take my recommendation seriously. I know this video is long, but since this is the first review of a Leave In Conditioner that I'm posting on this channel, this video needed to be prefaced with some opinions and classifications on how to judge a product and the needs of your hair. This might make more sense after you watch the entire video.
    I have high porosity 2b hair. My hair enjoys heavy products. In this video you will also see my friend Amrapali share her experiences with the product.
    Her hair needs are quite different to mine. She has 3a low to medium porosity hair.
    So here it is, my honest thoughts and opinions on the FMC Leave in Cream, how heavy the product is and who can use it. If you have an opinion on the product and have a positive or negative experience with it, I encourage you to leave me a comment with your curl type, porosity and experiences in the comments below. Many viewers read the comments to gain better understanding of the product. You never know who you might be helping by sharing your experiences. So, go for it! Let me know what you think of the product.

    Hi kittens, so why the long video? Cause, this is the first leave in we're testing on the channel. I wanted to intro a new format and in order to do so, I needed to preface things with some info explaining the categories and levels. I also needed pali to explain her hair type and needs. Needless to say, after watching this video, you'll have enough information on how to judge the products and the differences in results between pali and my experiences with the product.

    Hi michelle! I saw your this video and review on fmc curl quenching hair butter as well! Your review says that leave in cream works good for low porosity hair and that butter for high porosity hair… but fmc says in its insta posts that cream is ideal for the high porosity whereas butter for the low porosity! Your take on this?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  Před 3 lety

      Because they operate under the assumption that protein is for high Porosity hair only.
      I have a video explaining why this doesn't hold true. Watch my video on proteins for curly hair.

  • @99simplyme
    @99simplyme Před 3 lety +6

    Love the video format. Very informative.
    I tried the FMC travel pack as I started CGM 2 months ago. I have 2b-2c hair. It took some time to get use to it but I eventually did. You are right, it gives great volume AND some definition. but it made my hair SO dry. It also builds up very easily. 3 days and my hair starts feeling heavy.
    I tried using their new moisture styling travel bundel (for low porosity) but my hair has not been behaving since. It makes my hair limp and weighs down my potentially 3a (haha) hair . I think my hair is low porosity since I have not had colour treatment for the last 5 years.
    Any suggestions on what product should I use? How is the Curl up cream?
    Sorry for thr SUPER long comment. 🙈

    • @MichelleManuel

      We love long comments and replies here!
      I read your comment a few times and really thought over it. A leave in conditioner and gel are make or break in any curly routine. Right now, you're too early in your journey for me to recomend a leave in. Your results will reflect the fact that you're transitioning and can't be solely attributed to the product itself.
      The curl up and FMC curl quenching hair butter are heavy products.
      What I found antithetical in your comment was the fact that you found the product drying as well as causing buildup.
      I would say the next time you're going to purchase a new leave in, try the curl up and ashba combination (for protein and moisture) they're heavier products and you will be able to manipulate the weight by diluting them.
      I hope this helps! ❤️
      Watch my transition tips video if you can. Much love! ❤️

I use fix my curls leave in conditioner and gel and my hair feels very oily and weighed down but scalp feels clean and the gel cast isn't flattering as well even after breaking it.. i miss my volume.. can you help me in any way regarding the same.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  Před 2 lety +1

      I've made a detailed video on leave in conditioners and how to go about picking one.
      What I've noticed about this leave in conditioner is, the gel you use after makes a huge difference.
      I use the enliven because I need lots of hold. Noticed that the gel really cuts down on the greasy feeling. I did experiment with this leave in without gel. My hair felt super oily and greasy. The feeling didn't leave my hair for a few days.
      Maybe check out the video I made on leave in conditioners and pick one based on your need. Pair it with a strong hold gel or mousse. Using a mousse will give you some volume.

      Hi. Great question.
      So for pre-poo just pick up any oil from biotique. They're very reasonable.
      Shampoo for oily hair (wow charcoal shampoo)
      Shampoo for dry scalp (plum)
      For leave in, buy the FMC leave in cream for sure as it's your only protein option in india.

    @99simplyme Před 3 lety

    Hey michelle. I was thinking about how this product gives you a lot of frizz and arata gel gives no volume at all. What if you used them together? They can create a good balance, no?

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  Před 3 lety

      The arata gel + fmc leave in cream as a combo doesn't solve the weight problem.
      Why? Arata gel is alcohol free and therefore doesn't give me good frizz at my roots. (Good frizz gives you volume)
      This leave in gives me frizz because it's not moisturising enough for my damaged hair.
      However layering this with the arata hair cream (which was otherwise too heavy for me) works very well. Using methods like log or even layering like leave in + cream + mousse + gel, easily solve the problem.
      Hope that makes sense.
