I try to reply often, but "I don't get step X" or "it doesn't work" is too unspecific and I can't help unless I know exactly what problem you have.
COMMON FIRST LAYER PROBLEMS
Step 1 & 2. If the side colors of the cross or first layer don't line up the way I showed it in the video, then you need to redo it. Pay attention to ALL of the colors on one piece, and don't just pick white pieces randomly. I talk about this in the video, how I'm trying to match the other colors of the white piece (like white/orange etc.)
TAKING PIECES OUT OF THE SECOND LAYER
Step 3. At 5:33 I say "you should already know how to do this". I admit this is unclear. You should insert a random yellow edge into the second layer using the same algorithm you use for solving the second layer. If this does not make sense, watch the example solve video linked at the bottom of this comment.
COMMON TOP LAYER PROBLEMS
Step 4. If you can only get 1 or 3 edge pieces of the top cross, you need to reassemble the cube as solved.
Step 5. There should be no problems here.
Step 6. If you ever get only 2 corners in the correct location, you need to reassemble the cube as solved.
Step 7. Finish the 4 moves (don't stop at 3) every time. Turn the bottom (don't rotate the whole cube) to get the next piece. If it STILL does not work, you need to reassemble the cube as solved.
"Why do I need to reassemble the cube?"
Randomly assembling the cube only has a 1/12 chance of being solvable. If you've ever taken the cube apart or twisted corner pieces, then that can be the problem. If stickers have been switched, you will have to switch them back.

*MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE 4 MOVES*
1:52 has the 4 moves, and you have to be able to do this to understand what "4 moves" means when I use it again later on.
*COMMON FIRST LAYER PROBLEMS*

My son's friend asked me how to solve a rubiks cube. I said eh, I dunno, let's look it up. Wound up here. I'm a disabled combat veteran with a brain injury but this instruction was dope so I managed to solve it. I went "Ah that's fun" started watching other videos here and Tingman videos. Wound up ordering a speed cube off Amazon that showed up today (the next day.) Somehow I managed to solve once at around 3 minutes today even with slower hand eye coordination and reaction time. So, I watched this video like 4 years ago, got into speedcubing as this guy’s channel being my favorite, 2 years after my first solve I went into a huge break when I was averaging around 24 seconds, got back into speedcubing took another break, started averaging sub 20 cuz of this guy, and took a final break until now.

I THINK I BROKE THE RECORD!!... Longest time spent solving a rubik's cube: 10 hours! Yes!!!
TIPS: For first time solvers that are slow (like me). Pause each step or move, then mimic. Before solving, practice the 4 moves left side and 4 moves right side. I like to say "UP, AWAY, DOWN, and BACK" when doing those 4 moves. This video taught my 10 yo. nephew and 8 year old niece. They did every move on their own.

I already knew how to do it but in another beginner method but it's faster. I don't know about others but it helped me. I would recommend also giving notations here.

if you don't have the corners scrambled on the last step then it doesn't work
I did it 3 times and finally found that he was talking about the yellow corner that was when I was able to solve it finally.

In the last step when Dylan says corners he means the yellow corners... So you apply the algorithm as Dylan says and look whether the yellow corner is solved or not.. if it is solved then move as he says and it will be solved.

I'm 50 years old and got my first Rubik's Cube when I was 10 and have never been able to solve it. In February 2021 I set out to finally learn how to solve one. Using a bunch of your videos I managed to learn how to do it in about 5 days and went from averaging 5 minutes initially using the beginner method to under 1 minute with the beginner method now in December 2021. After watching many times I solve the yesterday cube, which probably took me about 4+ hours to do. I’ve since solved it 4 more times the last time taking me 12 minutes. This was an AWESOME tutorial. Thanks
Amazing. Co-worker brought me an extra cube. Started watching this video and i did it 4 days. Mixed the cube again after that and it took me like 45 mins to complete it again. Now i have to learn to do it without the video. The biggest problem for me is the second layer probably because you have to change hands for those 4 moves. Thanks a lot.
In about 3h of continuous practicing I now can solve it without hesitation. You just made one of my childhood dreams come true, I will be forever grateful :D

Step 5 doesn't always work it works with pure luck. The first 2 times trying it worked well and now I'm trying to do it and did the moves he asked me to about 10 times with no result

Excellent video, great delivery. It takes me about 2 weeks to forget the algos for the last layer... this is my go-to video for relearning.
I feel like this is the way i used to know how to solve a cube, it’s nice relearning to solve this way even if i prefer the way the method on the rubik’s website has. Since that last step is very prone to messing up the solve from my past experience

Alright I finally got it, this is all u gotta do:
Do the 4 movements for both R and L side of the cube with the 2 colours u want to be ontop
Just do once for each is enough
Learned how to solve this thing from you. Now after a whole yr after hours of practice now i average 11 secs

Tysm for this tutorial it was so helpful and i was able to solve the cube within approximately 2 hrs (after messing up the middle end a couple of times) but it got there in the end thanks to this tutorial 👍

Dear Dylan, thank you so much for all your tutorials on solving the Rubik's cube! I'm 41 years old and always thought I'd never be able to solve the cube. I came across the cube recently, which prompted me to start looking into it, again. I watched this video a quadrillion (ok, probably less) times and after like a week (!) I was able to solve the cube entirely by myself, which took me 7minutes 30 seconds and was I proud! I kept practicing and now I'm averaging 2minutes40sec, still using the beginner's method, but starting to look into more advanced techniques. I actually hit 1:59 a few days ago! I'll continue playing your videos, you have created an amazing source of knowledge and I can finally practice to get better and better :D Thank you!
Once you have a basic idea of how the cube works, start learning CFOP(or ROUX). We would be happy to have an another speedcuber in the community.
I tried to solve a Rubik's Cube for 10 years (Off and On) and never managed to do more then 1 side. I did rewatch this video like 10 times but I did it. Finally for the first time in over a decade I solved a Rubik's cube. I tried it over and over again with and then eventually without help. I learned to do it in under 5 Minutes in just a couple of hours. Amazing video my man. Thank you so much.
