The Bastard name for Essos should be 'Fyre', probably a remnant from old Valyria. Like Truefyre for example, who claimed to be a bastard from Viserys I.

Could you imagine of Rhaegar was successful in taking back the iron throne! It would be such a role reversal! Turning Robert into the one on the run, it'd go from the Dragonhunt to the Staghunt!

my lord this is a eventful episode. RIP Jon, you deserved to live longer. I wonder how angry Robert is going to get seeing Stannis released Rhaegar
To tell you the truth I (not Robert) was kinda happy with the way things went. Would have been a big anticlimax if Stannis had just executed Rhaegar offscreen. Kinda like the Blackfish's death in the show.

Aah, that makes sense. The bastardy names are not really consistent throughout the books it seems: sometimes it's where you're raised (i.e. Edric Storm's mother is from the Reach), but then sometimes it's where your mom is from (i.e. Obara Sand grew up in Oldtown, Brynden Rivers grew up in King's Landing).
Just after binging the first episode..tho if im honest. Ive been itching for a stannis/house forrester run or even house reyne with this production.
But one step at a time.

Bro, what episode was that? haha just AWESOME.
Lots of twists and surprises. Stannis Baratheon was already one of my favorite characters in the books, I always considered him underestimated by everyone and disrespected especially by Robert; but in this series, FINALLY he is being honored and dealing "alone" with all these problems. With attitudes like taking the North for himself and facing two battlefronts at the same time, will he be considered a tyrant or a good king by the Maesters?
I hope that Robert doesn't have to leave his company to retake the Stormlands, but rather that Stannis will show his power by dealing with this problem alone.
This series is EPIC, JJL!
Thanks, and yeah, it's good to see Stannis run the kingdom on his own for once. Although having said that, things turn sour for him very quickly in the next episode I'm afraid. Robert will leave his little brother to it for now. We still have some dragonspawn to capture!

Andos, East, Free or Freeman I feel should be the names for any bastards based in the east. Especially if Robert is the one deciding. Andos for Andalos. East for Essos. Free or Freeman for the no slavery aspect. Hunter is the most fitting name but i believe that's the name of a minor westorosi house.

Honestly that is so game of thrones, because the point of view characters are doing things doesn't mean the world is stale, other characters in other places are doing their own thing
Yep! Robert is an interesting man and his actions are important, but they don't stop Stannis and Rhaegar from living their lives.
Maybe the Blackfish should merry a Redwyne?

I have, but I want to familiarise myself with CK3 a bit more. It's a long way off still.
