- I put together a slide show of the rebuild and motor swap on my 91sr5. The truck now runs a 83 mercedes om617 turbo diesel with twin cases.This whole process started after blowing up the 2nd v6 and from what you see, It got a little carried away but 9 months later the end result turned out great. I hope that you enjoy and for anyone thinking about doing this swap,it's not a simple thing to do.

Nice build! I’m positive I’ve met you before at the old KMS Abbotsford location about a year or so ago. Truck is a real eye catcher, great to see the ins and outs of the entire buildup.
Yeah I've had it down there a few times at the car meet. I usually take my Datsun 510 tho.
I over boosted in a mud hole at stave lake and blew the head gasket for the 2nd time,so I'm in the middle of swapping in a fresh low mileage motor.

@Robert Phillips thanks.doing the diesel swap cost alot more then first thaught. I've got 4 adapter plates to make it all work.
Well I popped the head gasket again.so trucks parked till we finish building a 51 GMC. We've got alot of cool build in progress.69 firebird,56 bel air,51gmc,71 Datsun 510 and more work on the Toyota

Beautiful truck and great job on your project!! I have a 1985 4runner with 4 inches of lift and with the same double cardan axle you have on your Green machine, what is the geometry in accordance with the output shaft flange to the rear differential flange? I'm trying to figure out to eliminate the vibration on mine.
I don't remember what angle I have it at but it changed .I added a washer between the frame and the t case mount,also running trailgear solid tcase and engine.truck drives smooth around 3000rpm but anything lower everything vibrates
@@kct92jeep Hmm, just a washer at 8 positions of the tcase cross member?, that's about 1/4 inch?
Where did u get the intake tubes ?
I bought a universal kit from a local shop and made it work.

what performance parts did you add? and did you upgrade anything internal?
I haven't done any internal work. Played with the Alda and cranked up the boost,I was running a heavy shot of methanol/water and had the head gasket fail.
cant wait to hear how long ur "bulletproof" diesel lasted at 25psi and meth injected
Is the 4WD system still works ?
oh yeah 4wd works great. I'm running a v6 transmission with dual 4 cylinder t-cases.
