Love my 118d its a comfortable amount of power and its great on fuel, cheap to run and insure at 21 too! Would highly recommend

I got that engine as well, really good, tho I regret not going for the 120d... I think that was the sweetest spot...

@@eknight1804 same for me, the 118d has a great engine but the 40 horsepower extra would be perfect. Sometimes i wish i had the 120d acceleration, absolutely no shame on the 118d though

The need for winter tyres or capable all- season tyres, goes beyond just how much snow or ice is potentially on the ground. It’s about temperature too. In any conditions below 7 degrees, summer tyres are objectively dangerous, affecting stopping distances and grip. Same is true for the opposite, winter tyres are just as dangerous in the summer. From what I can tell it doesn’t matter the power of the car or which wheels are driven. Watching enough comparison videos on summer vs winter tyres in winter conditions should be enough for people to either use all seasons or splash out and have two sets of tyres. I absolutely love these videos, one of my favourite pov driving channels and I hate potentially coming off as a bit of a “keyboard warrior” but this is vehicle safety we’re talking about and the UK seems pretty lazy about it.

I’ve got the 116d msport shadow 68 plate n I’ve got to be honest I absolutely love the car comfortable to drive even on long journeys good on fuel also use it everyday and on average I’ll only have to put in around £20 every week and a half I know it’s only 116bhp but honestly feels like it’s more unless it’s just me don’t get me wrong it would definitely be a lot funner having that extra bit bhp that the 116i or 118i does but this is perfectly fine in my opinion on the bypass in 6th gear there is definitely a lot of power loss in the manual which can be pretty annoying

The preface lift if I’m not mistaken is the same engine as 120d just smaller injectors and a different map, if you map a 116d you’ll probably be more than happy with the pace of the car
