I've been considering buying this compressor but was holding off since the broken tube is a common complaint in the two-star reviews on the HF website. Glad to see it's an easy fix. Thanks for posting. Good luck with your V-8 build.
Mines been a good one had it for 3 years but today it quit compressing air
Its a compression fitting and the ferrel(brass part) slipped off the pipe its a common plumbing fitting
Started this compressor up after sitting all winter. It started up and ran. I have two tires and I heard it tick off and then it tried to kick back on when it kicked back on it but not it just made a couple clicks and would not go ahead and run.
Nice detective work, finding the broken line. It reflects very poorly on Harbor Freight that they would not replace it for you; was it out of their (very short) warranty?
Harbor Freight done the same thing to me. My compressor leaks air and can't find where it's leaking.

I don't have to do none of that..mines brand new and sometimes don't start..do I have to break down the motor to see whats wrong?

If it doesn’t start it sounds like a switch problem to me. I could be wrong tho
I have this compressor. It fills up but won't shut off. The release valve will open up and blow off the air and then it overheats and shuts off. I replaced the relief valve but it didn't fix it. Ideas?
The pressure switch is obviously faulty (stuck open). Simply replace the switch.
@@henrygarcia4438 I can't find one for this particular model. When I Iook up a replacement part, it refers me to other brands sold by Home Depo. The company will not return my calls regarding this. Do you think they would be compatible? I'm curious if this is a generic version of a higher end model. BTW, thank you for responding.
But does it build up to 175psi
I have 135 psi McGraw air compressor 20 gal my issue is that my tank doesn’t get any air any idea what problem would be?
Mine either ever fiquire it out?
@@davidbryant5875 yes I found the problem it had a broken 😠 piston
I would just pay $50 for the two year warranty and before the 2 years is up swap it for a new one and add the warranty again better then buying a new one
I was hoping it would last longer, but yeah id definitely recommend it for anyone buying in the future
@@eddiegastelum53 yeah I bought one for $220 and added the two year warranty I used it today to take part the front end of a car we’re rebuilding was so esay with an air wrench and it’s amazing glad I bought it and for painting is perfect also paint 2 doors with no problem at 28 psi
Hopefully people see these comments so they are aware to get the warranty. Good compressors but they do have flaws
@@eddiegastelum53 they do but I’ll rather buy it then one more expensive plus the warranty $50 for two years before two years is up swap for a new one and add the 2 year warranty again for $50 better then not and paying $220 for a new one

I won’t buy any tools from the freight I’ll spend a few dollars more an save in the end I caught on with the 20% restocking fee tell me that’s a company that won’t back there product 😂 I get zip ties, tarps, heat shrink, wheels replacement for wheelbarrows but not tools he’ll no 🫡🇺🇸
