  • In this video I prepare the seat frame surround boarding in readiness for the cushions to be fitted. I fit the truma vent outlets and the 'make up' air vents for the boiler.

    Nice to see the video is up, I’ll watch it later to see how you did it and the final result. I am following your build very closely as I’ll like similar layout like yours but with the back section different ( bench seats on each side to also convert into a bed, then a project 2000 smart bed lift on the top to be set up as a lift bed that’s always made and ready to go 😊)

    Really enjoying your videos. I guess you're busy enjoying the finished product by now!?
    Can I please ask if you have any further info about how you modified the cushion covers, and how you attached them to the frame?
    Thanks

    Absolutely loving your videos at the moment.. Very informative and I like your level of accuracy in your work..
    I'm starting my Realy build in Wiltshire too...
    I'd love to know if you sorted the seats using the old twin seat as I'd like to try this as well.
    Also how far back in thr van did you mount the seat? What's the distance from the front?
    Cheers. Mick in Chippenham Wiltshire...

      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Mick, You are not far from me at all! I did manage to reuse the foam and upholstery from the original twin seat but you actually need 2 donor seats in order to lose the fold down tray table, was not a problem however as people are happy to give these away it seems and I picked up a second complete twin seat near Salisbury with the same upholstery design for free. Mine is further back than normal as I have a very specific table arrangement. You will find the distance is governed by the mounting brackets and space underneath. Only hassle was then having 2 frames to take to the dump, was not questions about it though and just chucked them in the metal bin. hope that helps.

  • @paidoluca
    @paidoluca Před 2 lety

    Excellent finishing! Well done. May be a dummy question, why you didn't use the frame from the passenger as well? The whole unit.

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  Před 2 lety

      several reasons: 1. seat belt mount would be on wrong side and no mount for middle seat 2. would be to low 3. not easy to re-fix to floor due to how the brackets work. not a dumb question though as I did look into it and see if any way to make it work....

    @peterread7587 Před 2 lety

    Have watched all of your videos several times as they are so informative. Very close to finishing ours, but still have the Solway seat end panel to trim and install. How have you dealt with the seat belt connection on the side of the seat? The set screw (without the black cover) protrudes by about 12mm which means the end panel cannot be fitted flush with the seat frame. I am thinking of routering 12mm into the 15mm board but nervous about the outcome.

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Peter, yes I had same trouble. I just left a gap down the side so the side panel is fixed to the floor, the rear panels and the aluminium corner to the front but not to the actual frame, if that makes sense. I think if you then have your cushions overlap slightly it will cover this gap anyway.

      @@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 Thanks for the swift reply. No great drama with the first attempt at routering using a gash piece of board, so it's upwards and onwards.

    Could I ask how many sheets of furniture board you ordered please? Mine is exactly the same requirements ..did you get the evo catches from magnum too??

      5 sheets of furniture board in total. I got the evo catches directly from EvoMotion, they do a bulk buy pack that is a bit cheaper than from Magnum.

    brilliant stuff i love watching your videos :) could i ask what the piece is in the corner under the window on the solway panel you have put in? my panels never came with a piece for there and just shows part of the white van

      Would love to help but not sure from the description what part or area you are relating to? sorry! If this helps then the vertical 'slither' you can see in front of my white panel under the window (kind of where your feet would be if sat in the seat) is part of the solway pillar section. if that's not it then please try to describe again. thanks.

    Once again, so many good ideas and tips. I hadn't given much thought to vents for the Truma so this video is most helpful. I notice that your Truma exhaust is below the side window. Is there any guidance as to location. Also did you pocket hole into the Solway seat frame? I found the frame difficult to drill into, perhaps I needed to replace my drill bits!

    • @wiltshirecustomcamper7203
      @wiltshirecustomcamper7203  Před 2 lety +1

      I think if you are within a certain distance to a window, the said window should have a sensor on it so if it is open it cuts off the boiler, but I am going to let common sense prevail on that one.. Did not pocket hole into the frame, the boards are pocket holed to the floor, although I have drilled the frame and it was quite easy and soft so perhaps some shiny new HSS drill bits are in order. treat yourself! Toolstation do a good Bosch set not to expensive.
