I could not ask for more in a bike, Van Nicholas are the best bikes I've ever seen & I've used some nice bikes ;) I use a MTB Van Nicholas Revelstoke with chunky tires, lovely ride and very smooth.

@@tomgoor hey Tom, mag het in het Nederlands?😀 Heb de fiets een vol jaar en ben er zeer tevreden van. Hangt een beetje af van de uitvoering die je kiest natuurlijk (ik koos voor een GRX 810,1x11 met 42-42 verhouding) en die brengt me overal ook met bepakking bergop. Op het vlakke ben je dan iets meer gelimiteerd. Storend voor de trekker zijn de kabels vooraan onder het stuur: je kan er dus geen bagagerol op kwijt maar er zijn andere oplossingen. Het standaard zadel Aliante Fizik is voor mij aan de zachte kant tijdens langere fietsdagen. Ik ka er in Vlaanderen ook overal mee MTB dan hangt het vooral van de bandenkeuze (700 C bij mij) af. Heerlijk stabiel en comfortabel rechtdoor, natuurlijk minder flitsend dan een racefiets. Vraag maar op.😄

Ik zou 'm vooral willen gaan gebruiken om te gaan trekken en de stuurtas dient standaard bij mij voor m'n slaapzak, matje, etc...
Ik wou voor GRX 600 gaan, voor het eerst ook 1x11 want tot op heden altijd dubbel gereden vooraan, dus dat zorgt nog wat voor twijfels. Verder wou ik voor 650B gaan met dikkere banden. Heb nog 'n Grail staan die ik wil houden voor snellere ritjes en die heeft al 700C's dus dan ik daartussen ook nog switchen.
Verdorie, die stuurtas is 'n bummer!

@@tomgoor Kijk zeker eens naar de Ortlieb handlebar pack QR van 11 liter, zeer stevig en ruim, al mijn kampeergerief kan erin. Een rol kan je toch nog nooit volledig gebruiken (zelfs niet met een 44 cm stuur).
Prima spul dat je ook leeg kan laten hangen op het stuur. Nog een tip: neem zeker een reserve derailleurpad mee (te bestellen bij VN voor 9 euro) mee op reis want deze zijn redelijk fragiel en specifiek voor die fiets.
Beautiful. I've always loved the idea of Titanium but this frame makes me want one.
I may be biased because I own one but Van Nicholas is a well made frame and very reasonably priced. Great support from those guys in the Netherlands also.
Love the hydroformed Ti tubes and tapered HT, but a pressfit bottom bracket instead of threaded in 2021 is hard to figure.

no Idea - my Ti frame has a standard threaded BSA, I don't get a press it on a metal frame.

Since i am waiting for Van Nicholas to get their rear in gear (Frameset is supposedly available starting June/Juli ), this soothes me a tad AND fuels my jouyful anticipation at the same time!
Still not sure wether i should go with a GRX 2x or full in and empty the warchest for a Rotor groupset (yes, yes i know-different purpose but the heart wants what the heart wants^^)

I will be assembling a bike soon for the first time and I was wondering about you not using a torque wrench on the brakes and cassette. I am wondering because my torque wrench only goes up to 25Nm instead of the recommended 40Nm on these components. What is your take on this?

I did this two years ago when I got my Van Nicholas Skeiron. I'm loving this bike. Did I just watch you put grease on plastic when you installed the Bottom Bracket?
I was curious as well. It looked like you used the same white compound on the BB shell and pedals. Is it some sort of anti seize compound?
All this greasing of non-moving parts is just nonsense. Why put tons of grease under a SEALED headset bearing that doesn't move? It's just collecting dust. Same with the quick release axles, for example: They're not moving, only the bearing does, together with the hub.

Is it really necessary to grease the free hub body before installing the cassette? Wouldn't it just attract dirt onto it?
It's a metal on metal surface , so movement creates friction when forced . The grease means there's no friction as the metal parts slide over head other
@@Nexusoutlets Yeah but it still collects dirt and the dirt sticks better with grease :)
It's also said that having grease on the freehub body acts as a cutting compound and the cassette will dig into the splines of the freehub more. Not sure.
