we're going back to the early 2000's with some of this and I couldn't be happier:
- Wally's the flash again
- Cass and Steph are the batgirls while babs is oracle (usually)
- Roy is back and ditched the ugly trucker hat
hopefully DC continues in this direction because infinite frontier is looking to be great
I loved the direction they were going with the end of Rebirth but they changed it. We'll see if they stick with this one
that was probably my favourite era of dc comics
I like late 90s and early 00s except DC comics....I don't like all of those...I prefer Barry,barbara as batgirl etc

I'm so happy we get a follow up to Joker War and now we get to see Scarecrow as the main villain, who besides Joker is probably my favourite Batman villain. Wally is the main Flash again and Roy is back, I'm so happy Infinite Frontier is here, I'm locked in and ready to go
did "Joker War' take place before or after "Death Metal"? What about "Three Jokers" when Alfred was alive or had been brought back from the death?

I actually despise the “new” name for Black Adam. Shazadam? No. Black Adam IS his name.
I doubt its his actual new name, just the name he's given these folks to call him while he does his hero work. Can't have them associating him with a supervillain, after all.

My meta-theory is that they will defeat this ultimate Darkseid, who is the literal concept of evil, thusly removing evil from existence and it will become a soft of utopia, removing all continuity and turning all books into Elseworlds + set before this "end of evil"
They can't do that, good vs evil, chaos vs order, these concepts create stories. Remove one aspect and they'd have no story to tell.
@@bakedgoods7116 That's what I mean. They have the ultimate victory and then everything can be set in the past, anywhere between the different crises as they are all canon and it all matters. The heroes actually, completely, ultimately defeat evil so there is a final cap to the DCU.
@@Ben10man2 It'll only end if they get bankrupt and shutdown, in the comic universe, no matter how many recons and reboots you make, the one true God isn't the Presence or the One Above All, the true God is the Status Quo. Heroes beat Villains, Villains scheme another plan, only to be foiled again. Rinse. Repeat. This is the one thing that keeps Comic Books alive, or any long term franchise. The moment you remove it, you kill the Franchise.

I'm implying with the direction AT&T has been taking with DC overall, with less and less books and more adaptions, etc, this may be their in-universe answer to close out ONGOING stories at some point in the next decade.

At least this one actually feels natural and makes a ton of sense. Darkseid being unkillable yet not all powerful because he's split between universes has been a thing the longest now. It makes sense that with the last crisis event making EVERYTHING Canon, he's also whole again and fully broken. I'm just not particularly interested in seeing him overcome. It's because DC sets these impossible goals for everyday heroes to overcome that we end up with reboots

I agree lol, but i would say buy the first book of a character from infinite frontier that you find interesting when they come out and go a long from there.
What I did was start from the rebirth titles, makes it a little easier to get started without having to read anything before hand
@@SuperSteph5 that’s what I did as well. Even then though it’s hard to follow cus they always have so many titles going on at once and are constantly fucking with the timeline. I mean rebirth started in what like 2016? And yet here we are only 5 years later and they’re pretty much rebooting the universe once again
@@jeremyroberts8822 Yeah honestly some stuff is hard to follow especially if you haven't really learned about the entire DC universe. Having multiple titles and character team ups can get out of hand like batman had 3 titles going during rebirth. I don't think this is reboot but more of a new chapter for DC to get new readers

This is looking really cool so far. I checked out and loved the Swamp Thing and Crime Syndicate books.
I love that they didn't just give the heroes the "piecing together old lives," bit, the reveal at the end, that an antagonistic force is also the sum of its whole history made one, that just amps up the writing for me and i am stoked to see where infinite frontier goes
Alan Scott will look for the missing members of the JSA. Does that include Hawkman, Kent Nelson, Rex Tyler, Charles McNider, and Jay Garrick?

I think it's that every avatar of Darkseid coalesced into a being with his true form. Since Darkseid's true form is an entire dimension (as well as extremely powerful) and he previously could only send fractions of his power through his avatars, he's no longer limited by that. Now Darkseid can finally throw his full weight around

Loved this issue, perfect primer ala 2017’s Marvel Legacy. I got into reading DC monthlies halfway through rebirth and am happy to be here for this and ready to take on these new storylines at the start, after reading the initiative-concluding events in depth, I feel totally on board with where things are going. For this new era I’m pulling Batman, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman, Catwoman, Detective Comics, Harley Quinn, Joker, Wonder Girl, and we’ll see what else they announce, also pulling Bat/Cat and Strange Adventures, but those are clearly adjacent to this effort, great video!!

So all of Darkseid’s past iterations from each pre and post crisis events became one. So basically he’s whole again in a sense. He became once again the only darkseid in DC. A multiversal singularity actually it would be called an omniversal singularity at this point.

This is great because F.S. was trash. There were some really good stories but there were more bad. Like the Magistrate stuff and the Unkind garbo.
We all have opinions I guess. But out of the 24 titles, and the 24 back-up stories, most of them were really well done. They were praised by the people who actually checked them out. Not saying that you're doing this, but I saw too many people shitting on all of the stories after reading one. And that sucks.

Jon's story was good. The lanterns and the House of El was amazing. Earth 3 was great. But the Gotham stuff was trash to me. The Unkind story was done better in the Justice League Legacy arc. The Legion was confusing to most people. I'm not trashing on DC because of a few one shots I'm saying I genuinely did not like some of the Future State stories. I like the concept of poor Bruce and Tim as Batman. But to see Gotham taken over after everything that just happen is like knocking out mike Tyson only to get ko'd by PeeWee Herman. Bruce lost to regular people with the same tech as he has.... Cool story bro.

I’m interested in what the future of dc will be like, but I have a theory on what earth omega is.
In doomsday clock they reference that super man will fight alongside Thor and the hulk with sacrifice himself in the crisis war. Earth omega is unlike any of the other dc earths.
What if Earth Omega is the Marvel 616 world?

I like this, like i really like this. I wasn't too sure what DC was trying to do with Future State and the whole throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks and it kinda left me in a weird limbo with the company, but THIS? This i can 100% get behind. I've longed to see Darkseid on the world-ending scale he was in Final Crisis again and it feels like they're going back to those roots. Also Jonathan Kent as a future world destroyer?? Yes PLEASE! Ever since Supersons i've lost complete interest in the character and that even goes for DCeased, i felt like he was too much a carbon copy of his father and the beyond tired "Am i worthy of the mantel?" trope. But a future set in stone where he's brought shame to the House of El and pain to the world and we get to see his slow fall to darkness?? I NEED THAT BOOK NOW! I'm curious where this new Batman story goes as well but i really hope they keep the Jokers involvement to a minimum because i feel like DC has relied of the clown a little too much of late. Everything just looks good right now. I just hope this new era can deliver on everything they've just set up.

@mcm Nope, you have to start much earlier. Variant Comics & Comics Explained have fantastic videos explaining the different sagas and story arcs, you should watch those first before starting to read the latest releases.
