The song is basically talking about how the paparazzi etc chase them trying to catch them in any situation, no matter what they’re doing (from what I get from the lyrics), and pretty much how they’re never safe? And how the publicity can be both good and bad 😂 I don’t know if that made sense, but when you read it with that in mind it kinda makes more sense!

I think he probably forgot to read the most obvious thing: the title
The song talks about how paparazzi and media always chase them whatever they're doing and whenever they are (from the lyric 'you're attracted to the flower' and 'awake or asleep' also 'every nights is hide and seek') and the 'boom boom' part sounds like a gunshot while the choreography depicts someone taking picts, it means how their life is always being watched, cornered and threatened by those paparazzi with rumors.
The lyrics is so beautiful and poetic, especially 'a love that's been given a price' means the tremendous love that they've been receiving has prices like being hated, fake rumors, etc.
It's sad and beautiful at the same time, isnt it? the lyric says 'the greater the damage, the more it sells', the more damaged the artist's name bcs of the rumor, the more it sells to people for those paparazzi.

The song is about the paparazzi following them everywhere they go, lines like "life is a party, the greater the damage the more it sells" is directly talking about how the more damaging/controversial something might be for an idol, the more the images will sell to the news outlets. It's honestly a really great song targetting the toxicity of the paparazzi & idol relationship. One of the first songs I fell in love with when I first discovered SNSD almost a decade ago
This is the most expensive SNSD MV because:

Yess for the live performances. They are known for being incredible performers, they're really engaging and have immaculate presence and charisma, Tiffany brings so much attitude, they completely take over the stage and even if you're not there cyou feel like you're at the concert

The translation is indeed confusing. But in reality, the lyrics are full of lines that implies that Paparazzi's chasing anyone in the limelight. They refer a guy sometimes, telling them they act like a Paparazzi. Wherever the party is, stars are always there. And wherever those stars went, Paparazzi's are there to capture anything for a rumour.
Mistranslation is the problem in that lyric video. Like in Taeyeon's "燃え上ってBurningしていくMy name" that says "Burning, before the burning" , it can actually translate as "Burning, like it do in my name" or "Burning, Burn in my name".

Most of the time, SNSD sings together during the chorus, all of them. A trait that carries to Red Velvet. The trend doesn’t carry to Aespa but in Illusion and Life’s Too Short, they sing together in a few parts. Harmonically, they sound so good. SM is good at picking vocalists. Can’t wait for their upcoming comeback.

Is it just me who understood the lyrics right away when this song was released? They were at their peak when Paparazzi came out, even the slightest thing they did would make headlines.
Flower Power is another Japanese song from them that would make no sense if you read the translated lyrics. The part 'Spider pretending to be a butterfly' gave away that their song is about how they should create their perfect persona as an idol. There's no room for mistakes because they were portrayed as people without flaws.
The old song Singing in the Rain you heard in the beginning is from the 50's. A lot older than you thought lol.
