Racism is unacceptable, disgusting, distasteful and so backwards regardless of origin, location or who it is that does it. Unfortunately, it also comes in many shapes and forms and it can be seen in many areas of life. I was just replying to the bands in question and my rant and comments are directed towards those who do these nasty things. I am by no means blanketing countries in this and you all have nothing to apologize for, in fact its those who do these things that do.
That’s why I love BTS and what they’ve created with ARMY. None of this distasteful stuff. We learn, grow, love and appreciate. These are values that BTS themselves arent just talking about but doing themselves. BTS took the hardest, most humble and genuine path out there. They’re talented, hardworking, wonderful and honestly so well mannered. All they do is mind their own business! They aren’t rude, arrogant or putting themselves above people. No, they’re focusing on themselves, promoting growth and self love, not knocking people down even after so many people have tried. They’ve shown that they have a bond like no other, giving so much love to ARMY, growing through honest and organic means all while showing the best teamwork i’ve ever seen.
It’s easy to stay humble when you’re starting, but how about when you reach fame and such incredible success? BTS is my inspiration, role model and golden example of how you conduct yourself. They always show love, respect and modesty all while being humble, despite their incredible fame and status. Love BTS, love you all!!
Honestly I just wanted to write that. You’ve all said it better than me and I appreciate you all. Let’s hope we reach a point where this is not a thing anymore. Apobangpo

Yes! In 9 years have we ever heard a single member of BTS speak about anyone in this kind of way? No. They got where they are because they worked hard and have talent. They stay where they are because they are humble, genuine, kind people who deserve your support. I truly believe that’s why the ARMY stay. And on a separate note- the fact that billboard has to change its rules to try and stop the power of army is so gross imo. Create a fandom like they have, try hard, show us your talent and get there honestly. BTS taking time to focus on their solo stuff, right when they are this big as a group -when they could just pump out generic English songs to get on the radio -just proves they love music above all else.

Edit: 2:43 Love the Jo bros however all 7 of BTS is a triple threat. The other groups, such New Edition, etc. as much as they are the pioneers, they had their time. To trot them out onstage to show BTS they are the originators, is just sad.
12:43 Whoever this group is, they are so busy hating on BTS, that they should be in doing rehearsals and in the studios stepping their game up to be half as great as even Jimin's pinky.
I'm gonna be a little mean here for a second. Until Mr Busby picked up Nkotb, white boys were not doing the boyband thing at all, they did not have the skills, not since the Osmonds in the 70s and even they were emulating the Jacksons. Just saying.
Dont get me started on CNCO. The last big Latin group was Menudo with little Ricky Martin at the time.
I've said this before, but the industry will do what they have been doing: If its unacceptable to them they will ignore it and maybe if they dont acknowlege them, they will go away. Some may wear coordinated outfits. Not all of it. BTS write, produce, direct, film AND PLAY THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS! Furthermore they are kind, considerate, polite, humble, professional and the pinnacle of how men should behave. And…what other group has spoken at the UN, 3 times? And allowed to film a video there! What group has an American President ever invited to chat with about current affairs? They are a marvelous and beautiful group of amazingly talented men who still strive to improve and connect. This really upset me but I can't say I'm surprised. It's unfortunate that ignorant "Americans" say very un-American things in the media and make the rest of us look like we are idiots. I'm American and I've traveled to several countries around the world. I was always told that I was completely different from what people expected. They thought Americans are loud, obnoxious, rude and drunk like what they see on TV. I've learned that people think they are entitled to everything simply because they are American. In the US everything is about competition and being the best in the world. If they can't win then they try to discredit the competition. That's exactly why people are drawn to BTS because they spread positivity and self love.

A lot of people have that perception of Americans because,
      1. Most of the time, the good parts of America aren’t show casted or brought a lot of attention on. You get a lot of negativity from other countries and even from our own. There are more good Americans than bad, but the bad gets views and ratings.
      2. Like someone else in the comments mentioned how people hate when your at the top. Now, I’m not excusing terrible behavior, but making a point of, people always want to tear down the big dog. The things that have happened to BTS, is exactly what is happening to America. This coming from these other countries leadership, of course not all, but there are a lot out there.
Especially the second point I made, I’m not just talking out the side of my mouth. I’ve seen things from other countries, that teach their people to hate America. Those people have no frame of reference, someone they trusted or was over them told them that so they have no other choice but to believe it. Until they decide to find out for themselves. It’s the same thing that has happened to BTS, because of a few negative haters said bad things about BTS, they believe it! With no question, then continue to spread that around. It’s like this vicious cycle that keeps going. But, it’s not just this type of thing, it happens everyday! Example: the guy that played the black panther, (Chadwick Boseman), was talked about in such a loud and negative way, because PEOPLE said he had lost so much weight for a role, he was desperate, and a bunch of other stuff. But then come to find out he was dying from cancer, that’s why he was so skinny. People just ran with that one negative comment, then the cycle started. All those people were made to look like fools, but it was to late, the damage was done. That type of behavior is disgusting!

How many of these other "boy bands" danced the way BTS does, rap like they do, have insane vocals, songwriting, producing and acting abilities like BTS has?! Not many of them. These "kids" are prejudice and just plain stupid. I think a lot of that happens with people who haven't traveled to other countries much. I don't know these kids, but I really don't care to anymore. Korean, Thai, Chinese, Portuguese, French, Spanish , English,.Finnish, etc,... the music is universal... comes from the soul...soul doesn't have language you feel it... most of them have translations that allow you to go deeper into the lyrics... All this racism makes me think of the history of misguided ‘American exceptionalism,’ …British/French/Spanish/ Portuguese…Chinese/Japanese…and Russian, etc. imperialist territorial expansionism of previous centuries, or even today (Ukraine). Whether for money, gold, land, or religion, many cultures have thought they were superior-so could (and even should) take everything from supposedly inferior others. Such ideas that ‘we are the best’ persist today, but I think they are just excuses for fear and ignorance of the unfamiliar, fear of loss, & maybe that old greed💰, as well. Seriously tho…. I’m an Army since 2017 and till this day I get asked why do I stan BTS questions pretty much every other day. Like isn’t it obvious?
I love western music and love artists from many countries as well, but it’s just so much different in every level. While the West is singing about breakups, BTS is singing about self love.
They don’t put just themselves into their music, they include us as well. They work so hard on every single performance fearing they’re not enough and it may not be because of their race or country of origin, but it’s a big part of it I think.
They’ve been putting Army before themselves, supporting us, showing us their love and appreciation - they care about us. And that’s why Army is the best, biggest and the least toxic fandom in the world. And that’s also why I am so excited that they’re finally putting themselves first and releasing solos.
Because every single one of them matters.
I sometimes want to cry when people say something mean about them a I always ask why. Why do you hate them? I respect when people don’t like their music (I don’t really get it tho 😅), but don’t like and hate are two different things. Why there is so much hate in those people? If you don’t like an artist, that’s fine, but just keep it to yourself.
Nowadays is so easy to spread hate and hide behind anonymous accounts.
    It’s just so sickening….

Being bilingual myself, it never made sense to me how people say 'but you don't know what they're saying' or that 'i don't want to read subtitles', it's very demeaning and condescending toward the rest of us that listens to music and watches movies that is not in our language and don't make a big deal out of it. We all live in an American media zone, in terms of music especially, so even when we don’t know exactly why it is so, when we’re not americans or native English speakers ourselves, we feel like ‘foreign’ is something thats not in English, something thats not mostly white with some token characters of other races and nationalities for ‘representation’. I mean it must be hard to not feel that entitlement to music and art when you’re kind of a carrier of a dominant culture, but again, everybody knows why and how european and north american paradigm became dominant, and how it’s not ‘normal’ or ‘authentic’ for the world to still revolve around those places… I listened to music in English and other languages since I was a child, and I only learned how to properly speak English by the age of 16, but it was never something that stood in the way. I learned a little bit of the other languages in which the artists I liked sang their songs, just enough to get the grasp of the language, to sing along. When I discovered BTS just 2 years ago, it was like a breath of fresh air, the sincerity and positivity and talent that they possess.. I’m studying Korean and I’m loving it…it’s not that hard if you’re really interested and motivated, no need to learn it a lot, just the basics to feel the language. And isn’t that such a wonderful proof to how much army love BTS, as the numbers of people learning Korean over the last ~3,4,5 years grew massively over the world? I’m not saying everyone should do it, it’s really not necessary, you can always read the translation. The point is, nobody’s gonna put any extra effort into trying to enjoy those haters’ music, seriously, disgusting people:( Anyway, Im pissed after those clips, thanks for the video!!

God create us differently so that we could learn from each other. It's time to set aside our differences and enjoy what we love together.

We can no longer accept the meagre offerings of most western groups, a couple of hit singles from an otherwise mediocre album, shallow lyrics, no concepts, 1 album released every 2-3 years, a few magazine shoots. Then of course you have the in-fighting, rolling out of clubs at 4am, the drugs and booze, flashing the cash and the 'tell all' books. My biggest pet peeve is when someone says "Why do you listen to that when you can't understand it?". It is one of the more annoying things to hear. When I was younger I also listened to a lot of Spanish music and I don't speak Spanish. So, music in another language doesn't phase me. But with internet now, (which was not something in the 90's I would have used to look up translations of lyrics) you can easily look up lyrics. So THAT guy when he says we sing along and not know what we are saying has no idea the those things are so easily accessible.
I like what you said Shiki when you said "if you are trying to beat someone you should at least do your research". If they did they would know why BTS is at the top and they aren't. People are so ignorant and not want to educate themselves.

Hate is an interesting though, most often finding its way to the surface out of fear. And let's face it, for every sub-par half assed boy band out there it is something to fear. Half written love song songs sung by half talented "hot guys" is no longer enough. We have seen real talent, we know young men can sing about important issues in the world and continually build their talents. If another boy band wants to top BTS, they are actually going to have to work for it. And what's even harder for the wannabes? BTS isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Shiki, by the way, don't know if you get wind of some... weird people regarding Hobi's album not being physical (having some US-centric point of view to say the least, complaining about BillyBored and whatnot).
In the Festa dinner they said they wanted to appeal to the Korean industry once again, having their "mixtapes"/albums in Korean platforms. In Yet To Come they say "back to 1". So I do interpret this as them wanting to grow organically as individuals, from the 1st step, not using (completely) their BTS-member status to gain traction, but grow organically as solo artists as well ^^ which some of them already have imho, but they still are so humble.
By the way, Bangtan vlogs for 2 months starting Saturday and every Saturday!! T-T and the last one is Yoongi woodcarving (not-hajima). Awesome awesome news. They did a 2h30 long show but the first part took 1h long of other groups. So we saw them only for 1h30. And I payed 110€! The show was good but nothing exceptional. Again: I’m a J.B.’s fan but I was disappointed.
In comparison, I went to see BTS in the same arena a few years before. The show went on for 3h! And I payed 200€. I was up at 4AM in the morning to wait in queue for the show because I wanted to see the show so bad. And they nailed it! The show was fantastic! To this day, I still regret not going also on the second date.
I saw BTS evolve as a long time fan (since 2014-2015). I saw them 4 times in Paris: 1 in a festival in an Arena in 2016, 1 solo in the same Arena, 2 at Stade de France. They didn’t disappointed! They could do like the J.B and not bother too much in a show but they don’t. Because they want to do good performances. They involve themselves in the conception of their shows.

What people fail to understand is that BTS had no formula or a cheat sheet to go off on, they were simply themselves and did what they wanted to do not because they wanted to be #1 but because they actually love their work and they are passionate about it. You can never recreate anything in this world and have it top the original, the best example I can give is that a reboot of a movie or a tv show can never beat the og version. Why is it that only white western artists must be at the top? When will people let go of this outdated mindset? Can they not simply appreciate an artist's talent and art? Why does it matter where they came from or what race they are? What difference will that make to us consumers? The fact that these losers would literally settle for mediocre music being at the top just as long as the artists are white is crazy. BTS paved the way for music and ARMY paved the way for fandoms, that is a FACT. Every artist now wants a fandom as loyal, dedicated and organized as ARMY, and I'm sorry but no matter how hard labels try, they can never buy millions of people into supporting an artist they simply do not have a connection with. The fact that these labels are also trying to recreate a fandom should tell you how threatened everyone in the music industry is of BTS' power. It's embarrassing how the music industry is simply refusing to give BTS the props and respect they deserve. Just accept it for the love of god. Also, the way these bands think their casual racism is okay actually disgusts me and the fact that they still have fans after making those comments is wild. Stay mad, stay jealous, BTS ain't leaving the top and ARMY will always be there supporting their every move.

On another reaction video to this video, I also said that music transcends language because it’s art. A song can make you feel a certain way even if you don’t understand the lyrics. It’s happened so many times. It’s kind of like a painting. Music is universal.

I am at a loss for words seeing these young people making fun and patronizing BTS(es).... Shiki, at the end of the video you said you already forgot the names of these bands, but I want to remind you: FOREVER IN YOUR MIND!!!

I also want to add that I come from a multiethnic country and it is sad seeing people never experiencing/appreciating other cultures

I'm arabe i don't speak Korean my English is not perfect as well but i enjoy bts music and i can feel the song just by listening to them singing or rapping you can tell that what they are saying is dope , i can feel the song from the dancing as well you can't just hate or saying they're bad because you don't understand do a little research or keep your opinion to yourself

Actually this is also a thing in my country where some people say they don't even understand korean so they don't like BTS.....like seriously?? There are so many languages in this world and if u don't know one particular language then does that mean it's bad?? Secondly armys work hard to provide translation for every damn thing...like we even get translations for their Instagram posts. If bts puts out 1 second vdo armys will translate that too. There are theory videos on youtube where armys literally decode their songs and mvs so there's nothing like language barrier here it's just that they don't wanna take the efforts to know the real thing before they speak.

for American boyband nowadays, i think there is no have same popularity domestic and global like new kids on the block, Backstreet boys and N'sync anymore. they are not just popular in America, but also across continent. But nowadays boyband, lot of non american countries even never heard their name. I only heard a couple of boyband name on this video just because they have one side beef with BTS lol...

It's funny cause I'm from Brazil and I speak portuguese, but I grew up listening to songs in English on the radios, shops, movies, everywhere, and it never bothered me that I didn't understood what they were saying
That's why I think it make it easier for me to be intersted in kpop songs, cause I was used to not understanding what I heard

Although it's been months since this video ,but seeing this boyband that I don't remember their name even while watching, in an interview with Zack sang and he is agreeing with them surprises me , I'm now seeing Zack doing a lot of interviews with bts members, did he forget what he thought about them or is he using them. If he saw that he was mistaken and changed his mind about them, well, I have to say ok. Since bts went to his show. I don't even know if he apologized for insulting them.

Bangtan has always avoided paying anyone to be played in the radio and forever will stay that way. People saw their "fluke" success so they attempted failure-bound flukes themselves, like: "oh, look, seems there is a resurface of boyband culture, let's try again ourselves!" when again, nope, Bangtan is not a boyband, nor they came to grab the boyband spot, so those dead bands had nothing to do really on the market.
