this doc was nowhere close to its potential. The leafs scrubbed a lot of stuff. Also sucked that it happened during the covid season.
Adding Thornton was a horrible mistake by Dubas. You add a guy that's a professional loser.
By this logic McDavid is a professional loser as well. Any team would be lucky to have Joe. He was one of the best playmakers/passers of all time. He deserved to win the cup.

Jumbo is a winner, and always positive, being constantly negative like Keefe has to be exhausting for professional athletes.. being a negative Nelly is a loser mindset. God damn, the difference between the atmosphere in the entire place vs other teams is so grim and tense, i feel bad cause everybody wants to win and there's zero cohesion. A practis in Montreal sounds way diffent I think ... you can just tell this hockey club is feeling the heat from 67 ....... no cups !!! I definitely think he is, but he also should be. This is a team who has wildly unperformed expectations for 6-7 years now (2-3 at the time of this documentary I believe) and a fresh coach coming in, he’s supposed to be laying down the law. I think he absolutely lightened up the last 2 years as his message got through to the players a bit more.
Anyone who says Keefe was wrong about intensity and effort is clueless. He may have gotten line combos wrong, but he was right about everything else

He immediately should have been gone after that loss to Montreal.
No wonder Toronto can’t win. Yes the players are paid to play but man Keefe is a hard ass he acts way nicer in front of the media and bullies his players. You can see not one player is even listening to him when he talks they all tune him out. Now I’m not saying this is the reason the team can’t win because it’s not but it’s gotta be part of it.

Keefe should have been fired after this playoff collapse. I like the guy but he’s a rookie coach in the NHL. It’s clear that he never got the best out of his players in the playoffs every year. It wasn’t working. That’s the job of the coach to get the team playing their best. Marner played badly under him. Fans want to trade him but I see coaching as the issue. Marner has the potential to be great and yet the coach is getting nowhere with the players. The PP stank every playoffs except the one time they faced a badly performing Vasilevskiy. He’s in charge of the team that failed to generate offense. It wasn’t just that the team didn’t score he didn’t have any answers for the opposing defensive strategies. He has potential as a good coach but he’s not what the Leafs needed. They need a cup winner who knows how to get the best out of players. The Leafs performance in the playoffs has been embarrassing. Lost every game 7 and nearly every series. How does he not get fired by now, what a ridiculous situation to put the fans through this playoff nonsense. A rookie coach and bad goaltending was never the formula for winning a cup every year. They have the offense to score but their play isn’t working in the playoffs. It’s on the coach. I don’t want to see Marner traded, this guy is a good player that needs to be pushed to get the best out of him. Never happened with Keefe. Watching these clips not hard to see why.

@@Youngsta0 my post was from 9 days ago before he was fired. And it was referring to the Montreal series loss which was many years ago. He should have been fired after blowing a 3-1 series lead. That was my point.
Seems like he cares and he's a nice enough guy, but you can tell he's falling on deaf ears here and some of the stuff he's saying is downright odd. If you want Vesey to get going, tell him what you want and if you don't get it, he's not gonna like ice time. He basically just told him that he straight up sucks lmao Not really a direction for him to go in. Going up to someone and basically saying "you suck, figure it out" doesn't feel like coaching. Actually tell him what you want to see.

If we are down big tonight, let's see if he has the balls to throw the right guys out there with strict intentions of punishing their best guys. I'd have Reaves, Tuzzi, Domi , McCabe grab that little Rat Marchand and just thump the fuk outta him. Macovoy, Pasta, and Ulmark gotta be hit every time they touch the puck. Don't gotta go outta your way but let them know you're fukin there. Boston is ripe for the picking. Lots of traffic in there crease at all times and put pucks on net early. He will crumble.
If I was shanny, anything less then an appearance in the cup finals gets Keefe sacked. There is 1 coach I'd be bringing in. Joel, f****** quinville.
