I was 20 years old in 1991 and working as the hotel operator at the Hotel Mondrian on Sunset, she was a guest at the hotel and one day I was in the gift shop looking at over-priced clocks and she walks up in the same aisle and says "those clocks are kind of cute, what do you think about this?" and she held up some knick-knack and just remember making small-talk with her for 5 minutes and she went to go buy her stuff and I returned to work and told everyone I had just shopped for tchatchkis with Iman the model and my coworker said "who"? and I had to explain who she was. She was so friendly and warm...hearing her tell this story I wonder if thats around the time she went on her first date with Bowie? she's awesome.
