  • This video is from the Team Steve Downhill Hurdling Academy that took place this past weekend at Mountain Ridge High School in Frostburg, MD. In this clip, I’m explaining the benefits of pushing off the back leg with force and cycling both legs over the hurdle, one behind the other, as opposed to kicking out the lead leg and snapping it down. At the end of the vid are a few reps of one of the campers doing the marching popover drill over cones and then over 24-inch banana hurdles.

Good idea. I should have thought of that myself. Thanks for the support.

Thanks for the video Coach McGill! What is the distance between the cones and the small hurdles?

It’s ten feet for the cones, 11 for the 24-inch banana hurdles. Would be 12 feet for hurdles 30 inches or higher.
